This box comes shipped in a really nice box. It's the little things sometimes! It's a drawer pull out box, and came in a clear mailing envelope. The design of the box is really pretty too!
I received biodegradable tea bags to use with the loose leaf tea. I really appreciate the fact that they include a way to steep the loose leaf tea, in case their subscribers don't have access to a tea steeper.
Ceylon Earl Grey Tea
This is a high caffeine, black tea. The flavors are listed as citrus, perfume, and toffee, while the ingredients are black tea, bergamot oil, and blue cornflowers. I always give the flavors of the teas a little side eye because they sound weird - who wants to drink perfumed toffee? But I always try them, and I usually like them. I am a big fan of Earl Grey Tea and this one did not disappoint!
Medium Roast Yaupon Tea
This is a medium caffeine yaupon tea. Having never tried yaupon tea, it looks like fish food at first glance. The flavors are listed as caramel, almonds, and taro (definitely better than the Earl Grey description!), and the only ingredient is yaupon. This is like a mix between a green tea and a black tea in my opinion. It isn't quite as grassy as green tea, but isn't quite as dark as black tea. I did enjoy it, despite the slight green tea undertones!
Kenyan Purple Tea
This is a low caffeine, single origin green tea. The flavors are listed as plum, cranberries, and sweet peas (!). The only ingredient is green tea. This definitely smells like green tea. The leaves are different from anything I've seen before too! The flavor of this green tea was slightly fruity and I didn't hate it. Green tea just isn't my thing!
Verdict: I really love this box every month. First of all, the packaging is top notch, and I could tell that the tea was very high quality. Since the tea is fresh, it can be steeped more than once. Rosali Tea says that the 2 ounces of tea I received should brew 30 initial cups, with the possibility to re-brew the leaves. I don't think I personally will get 30 cups out of the tea, but it is a good amount of tea.
As far as the value goes, I definitely found the value of the tea worth the $19.95 price. Loose leaf tea can be very pricey, and many times if you purchase from the store the tea isn't as fresh as it could be. I also love that there are rarely (if ever) any artificial flavors in the teas!
Have you tried Rosali Tea yet? I think you should!
