I received two coupons with this box as well.

The first one is for Mama Bird & Co. and it is valid for 15% off in their T-shirt shop on Etsy.

The second coupon is for 15% off at Ella Santosa. Ella Santosa makes crystal necklaces from bullets. They are very pretty!

DIY Nail Polish Coffee Mug Kit

This came with a plain white coffee cup, a toothpick, and a bottle of nail polish. The instructions were to fill a plastic container with warm water, put in a few drops of nail polish, and dip the bottom of the cup. Then let it dry upside down.

Here's a picture of my finished mug. I kind of wish I dipped it in further, so the design went further up. Since it is not dishwasher safe and I'm a little iffy about drinking out of something with nail polish on it, I'm going to use it as a pencil cup on my desk!

Z's Bees Raw Honey - $2.75

I really enjoyed this honey. It is a teeny tiny little bear filled with Raw Wildflower honey. I drizzled this on top of my berries and almond milk and it added just the right amount of sweetness.

The Jam Stand's Drunken Monkey Jam - $2.00

I've received this jam in the past and I really like it! I can't find it on The Jam Stand's site right now, but it is delicious. It is a mix of banana, lime, and rum. It sounds really weird but it is delicious!

The Jam Stand's Sriracha Peach Jam - $2.00

I tried this jam on a biscuit and I enjoyed it. It has a bit of a kick to it, but I honestly didn't taste much other than a bit of sweet and a bit of heat. I probably wouldn't buy this, but I can see how it would be great for making peach chicken or something.

Bambooee The Reusable Paper Towel - $3.33

This company was on Shark Tank for their reusable paper towels. I received one bamboo paper towel.  For every roll they sell, they plant a tree, which is a cool concept. I used it, and washed it and I like them. I would definitely buy them if I find them in store - I like the idea of a paper towel that I can use and then toss after it gets nasty. This is supposed to be able to be used 100 times, which would be perfect for wiping down surfaces in the bathroom, etc.

Kuhdoo's Honey Oatmeal Soap Bar - $6.00

This soap smells so good! I appreciate that Bakery 16 shipped it in a plastic bag to avoid making the entire box smell like soap and to avoid damage. I really liked the last soap I received from Kuhdoo, and definitely can't wait to swap this one into rotation.

Verdict: I enjoyed my first shipment from Bakery 16. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when I got my box, but it seems like a nice assortment of high quality items. Without the value of the DIY Mug, I received about $16.00 worth of items, plus the two coupons.  I would say that this box probably has a value of about $20.00 with the DIY cup.  I wouldn't count the coupons toward the value since you have to spend additional money to use them. Overall, I think this is a good first box from Bakery 16, even if it is on the low side.

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

I was excited until I saw what was in it. What a Strange box. There was nothing really related to baking – or what you traditionally think of when you hear the word. A bakery theme box has so much potential I hope they up the game or someone creates a rockin box!

I totally expected at least ONE baked good, kit, or some bakery related something, but the mix was still pretty good.

Looks like a fun box, but the curation is so random. And I would think a baked good is essential for a box called Bakery 16! 😀

Very cool box with fun items. But I must admit I was expecting to see baked goods or some sort of fun bake at home kit. Nonetheless, this is a cool subscription box that deserves attention.

I just saw that nail polish technique actually used on nails and it was amazing. Apply a light, neutral colored polish onto your nails (white, beige…you get the idea). Swirl a few drops from a couple different polishes together on the surface of a cup of water to get a marbelized look. Dip your nails into the “polish water”. The polish adheres to your nails in a super cool marbelized pattern. Clean off the residual polish on your skin (in the demonstration I saw it peeled right off). Voila…super cool polish effect.

Bekki you can redip the cup if you wish. I did the nailpoish thing with clay pots this spring. It made a mess and didn’t work quite like I thought it would. I also tried it with cold water and liked that best. You can also use any polish and different colors together just watch out because you can get a film on top of the water and that is not cute at all.

It’s really strange there’s no baked good included. That’s a bummer.
