Included was an information card with details about the items in the box.

Nature’s Bakery Mint Double Chocolate Brownie (2 oz) – Value $0.47

This was one of my top few items from the box.  I’ve had a lot of Nature’s Bakery items (they have some good fruit-filled bars in the style of Fig Newtons) and I’m pretty much always a fan.  These didn’t really remind me of brownies a whole lot, but they did have a nice chocolate mint flavor.

Livesmart Flax Bar in Chocolate (1.76 oz) – Value $2.23

I think I have gotten 3 or 4 of these from Vegan Cuts in the last few months.  They’re usually good but not outstanding (which was the case here, as well).  I do like getting bars, and I do eat bars regularly, but I think I’d like a little more brand variety.

Brisk Bar 70% Dark Chocolate and Coconut (0.88 oz) – Value $2.50

This tasted good – exactly like you’d expect based on the name – but it was TINY.  On their Amazon page for this product (linked to above), they say $2.50 is AT COST for them on these bars.  So they must be using some super premium materials or something.

D’s Naturals No Cow Bar in Raspberry Truffle (2.12 oz) – Value $2.50

I’ve had these before but didn’t remember them at all.  The “truffle” part was some very small cocoa nibs; I mostly noticed the raspberry.  This mostly had a uniform texture which my fiancé described as “good for you” (he splits all the food from boxes with me).

Deep River Sweet Maui Onion Kettle Cooked Potato Chips (1 oz) – Value $0.43

I think this was my favorite thing from the box.  I almost never buy potato chips because I love them so much, I would binge on them.  I also love onion flavored things.  And these were awesome.  Although they gave me bad breath for the rest of the afternoon…

Real Deal Veggie Chips (0.833 oz) – Value $1.38

These were OK, nothing spectacular.  I was expecting something like Snapea Crisps but these were much thinner and shaped a little like a cross between shells and orecchiette pasta.  They were a little chewy like they might’ve been stale or something, but it’s hard to tell with items like this whether they’re supposed to be like that or not.

vegancutssnack-march-2016-jackfruit

Upton’s Naturals Chili Lime Carnitas Jackfruit (10.6 oz) – Value $4.99

How funny, I had never had jackfruit before and then it showed up in a Purple Carrot dish one week and in this box the next week.  I had already been grocery shopping for the week when this arrived but we are planning to make some tacos with it next week.  (If you want to know what jackfruit looks like, there is a photo in the Purple Carrot review linked to above.)

Clean Daily Shake Nutritional Mix in Vanilla (1.05 oz) – Value $2.71

Regardless of the instructions on the package (I don’t believe in doing cleanses), I always mix things like this into my morning smoothies.  I never end up being able to taste them, individually, but I figure I’m still getting the benefit of any nutrients that are included.  Vanilla flavor works fine in my morning smoothies so this got used.

Nutryttiva Banana + Plum Bar (1.06 oz) – Value $1.04

I think I got one of these last month, too.  (Although last month’s box was a replacement since an item from my original shipment got damaged.)  It is a pretty basic snack made up just of banana with a little plum.  Good for those times when you want fruit but a fresh banana isn’t convenient.  I can pretty much only taste the banana, for what it’s worth.

Shine Organics Elevate (4.22 oz) – Value $1.90

I’m not really on the whole “pouch snacks” bandwagon – I think the packaging is wasteful and I’d rather chew my food.  However, this was not bad for a pouch and, most importantly, it didn’t taste like vegetables even though it included carrot and wheatgrass.  It had sort of a generic fruity flavor.

Banza Pasta Shells (8 oz) – Value $5

I’m excited about this.  I don’t need to eat gluten free but I do like high protein, high fiber foods, and pasta is always a favorite at my house.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $25.15 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Snack Box.   That is a better value than last month.  And I appreciated the lack of energy drinks and the focus on pantry items.  I think my favorite items (aside from the pantry items) were the Nature’s Bakery brownie and the potato chips.  Although I didn’t love every item, I definitely appreciate the variety of products as well as the improved value this month.
