The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box.  All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural, too).  They also typically include a nice mix of full size and sample beauty items.

Vegan Cuts sends a single package to subscribers who get both the beauty and snack boxes.  The beauty items are separated into a little bag.  (If you do not get the snack box, I don’t think you get the little bag.)

Vegan Cuts sent us this box for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: Vegan Cuts Beauty Box

The Cost: $22.95 on a month-to-month basis. $68 for 3 months, $125 for 6 months, and $240 for 12 months (that's 1 free box!)

The Products: Each box contains a mix of 4-7 full and sample size cruelty-free beauty must-haves, ranging from cosmetics to skincare to haircare.  All items are void of toxic ingredients and animal byproducts.

Ships to: US for free, Canada for $9, and worldwide for $15.

Each Vegan Cuts Beauty Box comes with an information card detailing the items for that month.

Eco Lips Bee Free Lip Balm (unscented, 0.15 oz) – Value $3.49

I don’t usually like when boxes include lip balm as a full size item (like in a 5-item box like Birchbox or Glossybox).  But when it is a 6th or 7th item as it is here, I don’t mind.  This one seemed moisturizing and is now in my stash of approximately 7,632 lip balms from subscription boxes that have been used exactly once.

Routine Cream Deodorant in Lavender (sample) – Value $2

There was no size information on this one so I am taking the value from the information card.  Several scents were possible and I am guessing based on smelling mine that I got the lavender one.  This is the type of natural deodorant you have to apply with your fingers.  I have tried a few natural deodorants but the lengths people have to go to, to get it to *kind of* work, are not for me.  I’ll stick with my Dove antiperspirant.  (For what it’s worth, applying scented things to my underarms usually gives me a rash anyway.)

Joshik 5-Free Nail Polish in Shade #234 (or possibly #254 as the ink on the bottom sticker of mine had rubbed off a bit; full size!) – Value $12

Now this, I love.  The color is great and the formula is pretty nice too.

vegancutsbeauty-april-2016-serum

Eek, this photo is a little blurry.  Sorry about that.

Cocokind Organic Facial Repair Serum (1 fl oz) – Value $13.99

In case you were wondering, this does NOT smell like coconut.  (The scent is fairly neutral.)  It’s an oil based serum.  If you think you can’t use oils on your face, try daily exfoliation – it works!  I’m glad to get enough to see if the product is going to be a good fit for me or not.

Marrakesh Ends (1 fl oz) – Value $5.99

I don’t get split ends but the ends of my hair typically look awful for some reason anyway.  I’ve applied some of this and we will see what my hair looks like tomorrow.  Crossing my fingers.

vegancutsbeauty-april-2016-sunscreen

Goddess Garden Organics Facial Sunscreen with SPF 30 (1 oz) – Value $5.29

I got this in a Whole Foods Beauty Bag last year and thought it was great.  I am happy to have more.  It has only mineral sunscreen ingredients (i.e., zinc oxide) so I can actually use it on my face without worrying about getting a rash.  And it doesn’t make a white layer on your skin.

Enfusia Coriander Rosewood Fizz and Foam Bath Bomb (2 oz) – Value $2

This had a springy floral scent (didn’t detect much coriander but that’s OK because coriander isn’t my favorite scent anyway).  This didn’t foam or fizz much at all (think it may have dissolved too fast) but it did leave my skin feeling really soft.  (I didn’t see this size product on the Enfusia site so I linked to something similar.)

vegancutsbeauty-april-2016-nails

In lieu of a swatch, here are my nails with the polish.  (It was time to redo them anyway.)  This is with two coats and a Seche Vite topcoat (which is most definitely not 5-free but it seemed to work with this polish, regardless).  Sorry about the poor state of my cuticles.

vegancutsbeauty-april-2016-literature

There were also some coupons and product literature.

Verdict: I calculated a value of almost $45 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box.  That is a good value for a natural beauty box (since natural beauty items tend to cost more).  I discovered a few new brands (Enfusia, Joshik, etc.) and was resupplied with an old favorite (Goddess Garden sunscreen) and now I have bright pinkish-red nails so I am happy.

What do you think of the April 2016 Vegan Cuts Beauty Box?

i’m not a huge fan of natural deoderant’s either, as they don’t work great for me, but…THIS ONE IS AMAZING. their scents are awesome and IT WORKS. i actually LIKE to use it as a combo deoderant & scent/perfume! i got mine in a Petit Vour box, tho…but you can buy it there in their shop – i’m about to!

oh wow, just realized, i also recently tried the Marrakesh Ends and ALSO love THAT – it makes my hair softer than i think i’ve ever felt it. it’s another thing i will be buying now that i’ve sampled and fell in love. actually these are the only 2 things in many sample boxes i am planning on buying so far.

I saw the Cocokind Organic Facial Repair Serum at TJ Maxx today. I can’t remember the price and I didn’t look at the volume, but I think it was a little cheaper than that. Either way, good to know it can sometimes be found there instead of having to pay online plus shipping if you want more of it.

I saw it in Marshall’s yesterday for $7.99! I’m definitely going to buy it next time I’m in there.
