Julep offers a Mystery Box of some sort every month. This month the box theme was Confetti Delights. Please tell me I am not the only one who was hungry for ice cream after seeing this box announced. Every box was to include two new confetti nail colors and additional mystery beauty and nail products with a promised $100+ value for $24.99. Also, the mystery box would include a Le Tote Necklace FREE while supplies lasted. (If you haven’t heard of it, Le Tote is a monthly styling and clothing rental subscription box that My Subscription Addiction regularly reviews.)

julep_confetti_welcome

For some reason, this month Julep included welcome information about the Julep Maven subscription box and a unique coupon code for 50% off my next purchase. I have been a Julep subscriber for quite a while now, but I will definitely take it!

julep_confetti_all

Here is everything that came in the Confetti Delights box. Yay, I was lucky enough to get the Le Tote necklace – Retail Value $34!

julep_necklace1

Here is a close up view of the necklace. It is easily wearable and goes with pretty much anything.

julep_necklace2

In case you want to see how long it is. The 2 layers are both hooked together onto the same necklace clasp in the back.

I should also mention that using coupon code APR15 allowed me to save up to $15 off any additional item added to this order. I opted for this new polish from Julep’s Zodiac Collection.

Julep Nail Color in Aries – Retail Value $14 (risk-taker red iridescent flash)

julep_aries1

This is the first time I have tried a polish from the Zodiac Collection and I am impressed! Very pretty and goes on smoothly. Also, the box itself is really nice and perfect for gifting.

OK, back to the regular mystery box contents.

julep_confetti_all1

First, the eye shadow.

julep_eyeshadow

I tried this exact color combination before and was a fan the first time. I usually keep my eye makeup fairly subdued and this is an easily wearable daytime look.

julep_eyeshadow1

Feels Like Velvet Full Coverage Eye Shadow Duo in Moonlight & Starlight – Retail Value $20 (matte lilac grey & white sand shimmer)

julep_luxe_up_poppy

Luxe Up Your Lips in Poppy – Retail Value $24

I tried this conditioning lip treatment when Julep first introduced it. I was not a fan of the product at that time although I usually like most of Julep’s beauty line. I do like the cooling zamac tip on the tube though. This time I decided I would at least give it a shot again because it had been a little while.

Unfortunately, this time the shea butter, or something, had clumped up inside the tube and it was completely unusable because the treatment came out with small shea butter-looking chunks in it. After several unsuccessful attempts at saving it, I called Julep’s customer service who first told me the product was still usable, but after I described what was going on with it further, they offered to send me a replacement lip product of my choice. I called last Tuesday and by Saturday, I received the following replacement:

julep_balm1

It's Balm in Vintage Mauve – Retails $20.

This is a full-coverage lip crayon with a moisturizing treatment core in the middle.

julep_itsbalm

This one is a keeper. And I appreciate Julep’s offer to let me pick a replacement item. They shipped it to me pretty quickly, too, so I was happy with this outcome.

Here are the swatches for the eyeshadow colors and the original conditioning lip treatment I received:

julep_swatches1

Ok, and last, but not least, here are the polish colors that were in the Confetti Delights box:

Julep Nail Color in Randi - Retail value $14 (pink plumeria crème)

Julep Nail Color in Ali - Retail value $14 (hint of mint soft focus)

I don’t have either of these yet so this is definitely a win for me.

Julep Nail Color in Annabelle - Retail value $14 (floral bouquet matte glitter top coat)

Julep Nail Color in Marley - Retail value $14 (aquatic blues matte glitter top coat)

Annabelle and Marley were the spoiled colors for this mystery box. These are my favorite in the box and would work great as a topcoat as well.

julep_swatches

Here are all 4 colors swatched.

So pretty!

Value: This mystery box cost $24.99 and includes $100 worth of beauty items and polish + the $34 necklace + an extra $14 polish from the code I used. I think Julep’s mystery boxes are a fun way to try out items from their line of products and offer a really nice value.

Verdict: I’m happy with the Confetti Delights mystery box especially the two specialty polishes. What do you think of this box and/or the regular Julep Maven subscription box?

Yay! Glad you liked the Aries polish – I worked with Julep on color selection and it’s so great to see an Aries rocking the red!! <3

My lip treatment was clumpy too but I found a way to fix it on a forum. If you soak the tube in warm water for a few minutes it will melt the chunks. I shook it together and it was good as new.

This mystery box was a bummer. I don’t often get the monthly, holding out for the mystery ones because there is a better value for the same price and they’d always been fun. This one had less products and pretty disappointing polishes. I do like the mint (hopefully it wears well), but beyond that the confetti is so-so and the pink I have similar items from them that dupe it. Lip product is awful – had one I gave to someone from a mystery box maybe half a year ago. Eyeshadow is okay, but I’ve now received three of their duos and there really isn’t much variation.

I am not sure if you read the other comments, but if you contact Julep they will send you a replacement lip product. Hope this helps!

I have been throwing away all of the Luxe Up Your Lips products that I have received so far. I thought that they were all bad, and just never thought to tell Julep that they were gross. I’ll see what they can do with the latest ones. This particular product needs to be pulled, as every one that I have receive so far is so gross that I don’t use them.

That does not sound good. I am not sure what could cause this since I hadn’t seen it before, but definitely contact them and I am sure they can help you!

I still love this brand…just not the Luxe Lip product. I didn’t realize that they weren’t all a chunky mess. I’ll contact them…I still have a couple that are still in the box. Perhaps I can send them back.

Tried using the ‘color8’ code over the weekend while starting a subscription, the website stated it was not valid. When I emailed customer service, they stated I could call them to place the order instead.

chris

That is odd. I just tested COLOR8 now and it worked. Maybe you have to type it in versus cut and paste which sometimes brings invisible spaces with it.

Hope you love everything!

I got my mystery box but didn’t get the necklace. 🙁 It’s okay though; I used a different code to get a mega mystery sample. For the mystery box, I received the same polishes, eyeshadow, and lippie. My lip product was fine.

My mega mystery samples were an emery board, polish (Amy – smoky turquoise), and Vanish (cuticle softener/remover). The Vanish lid wasn’t secure so about half the product leaked out. Customer service was great and sent a replacement right away.

I love the Julep Maven boxes and always fall for the mystery boxes!

Glad your lip product was fine. I was pretty surprised mine wasn’t, but they took care of it right away.

Also, Vanish! I recently just started using this. LOVE.

I’ve enjoyed my Randi and Ali topped with the Confetti colors, too! I like the Confetti more than I thought I would.
I had the same issue with the Luxe up your lips but didn’t know I could call CS to get a replacement. I wonder if it’s too late? I might try, I guess. I like the cool tip and the hint of color, though. So far, I’m loving Julep way more than I thought I would!

chris

I would definitely call Julep about that since they will give you a replacement item.

Also, yes, Julep was my first subscription box and is still one of my favorites. Happy you are enjoying it as well! 🙂

I emailed them and got a response within a few hours. They asked me what replacement lip product I wanted and I asked for the It’s Balm. I really like the Luxe up your lips and wanted to ask for it again but I’m afraid it’ll be the same issue. Their service seems awesome and fast, though, so that’s nice!

I loved mine! I have been wearing the Ali (mint green) with the Marley ( blue sparkle top coat) over the top and have had numerous compliments. It has lasted amazingly for a full week. Everyone asked where I got them done and have commented on how spring-like they look, almost like a robin’s egg. Great value on this set as well!

Molly

I did that too it looks like a cool robins egg

Awesome! I will definitely try that combination next. ?
