My Non-GMO Box is a brand new monthly subscription box that sends Non-GMO verified product samples.
(Note: the My Non-GMO Box website mentions that products included in the box will also be gluten free. While none of the items included in my box list wheat as an ingredient, I noticed that some are produced in a facility that processes it. I bring this up to clarify that while the products included in the box will be wheat-free, some of the products in the box might in fact contain trace amounts of gluten.)
This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

My Non-GMO box included a letter from the box’s founder and a list of the products included in the inaugural box.
Beanfields Nacho Flavored Bean & Rice Chips – 1.5 oz, value $1.25
Wild Friends Mini Honey Sunflower Butter- 1.15 oz, value $1.10
These bean & rice chips were new to me, and a great discovery. I was surprised (though probably shouldn’t have been) to find that they do actually taste like beans. I also really liked the nacho flavor. Since they look a little like Doritos, I thought they might be cheesy, but the flavor reminded me more of tomatoes and salsa. I think these are a great alternative to chips made with potatoes, corn, or wheat.
The Wild Friends Sunflower Butter is made with very few ingredients and no preservatives. I think the flavor of the sunflower butter is really interesting, and I could definitely see myself using it on a sandwich instead of peanut butter. I was thinking that this could be a great peanut butter replacement for kids with peanut allergies, but it’s made in a facility that also processes tree nuts, peanuts, and wheat (among other things) so would probably not be a feasible alternative for most.
Heavenly Organics Honey Pattie Chocolate Mint- .39 oz, value $.65
Two Leaves and a Bud Tea Sampler- 2 sachets, value about $1.50
Trader Joes makes a product similar to this Honey Pattie Chocolate Mint that I really like, so I was excited to see that a Non-GMO version exists. This product contains only honey, chocolate, and mint oil, and the flavor is great. The chocolate coating is very bitter (I love dark chocolate), which I found to be nicely in contrast to the sweet honey filling.
I drink a lot of tea, so I’m always happy to see it included in a subscription box. This sampler contains two tea bags: one black “Assam Breakfast” and one herbal “Better Rest Blend.” The tea bags and sleeves are all biodegradable, which is a nice touch.
Tasty Brand Organic Wild Berry Fruit Snacks- .8 oz, value $1.10
Nature's Path Dark Chocolate Chip Granola Bar- 1.2 oz, value $1
I’ve had Tasty Brand fruit snacks many times before. My local organic grocer sells them at the checkout, and I can rarely resist buying a bag or two. They’re made without gelatin or corn syrup and have an addictive texture that’s softer and less chewy than traditional gummy candy. In addition to being certified Non-GMO, they’re also vegan, gluten free, and organic.
The Dark Chocolate Chip bar is organic, gluten free, and has that familiar soft and chewy texture often found in granola bars. Granola bars aren’t a go-to snack for me, but if they were I would definitely seek out this brand.
Verdict: I really like the selection of products included in February’s My Non-GMO Box. The items seem thoughtfully chosen, and the variety of foods is pretty diverse. Personally, I try to avoid genetically modified foods in my diet, so I think this is a great way to find out about new Non-GMO foods on the market. I also really like that they only feature products that have been verified by The Non-GMO Project, as I think this helps guarantee that the selected items will truly be 100% free from GMOs. The value of this box totals $6.60, which is very low for the $14.99 cost. Since this is their first box, I hope as they move forward they’ll find a way to increase the value of the products included (or lower the cost). I like the idea of this box, but I question how successful it will be if the value doesn’t improve.
