Craft Beer Club is a monthly craft beer subscription service. Every month they send you 12 bottles and information on the breweries that made those beers.

This box ships via UPS and you will have to sign on delivery. From what I can tell they ship to all states!  (We live in PA, which is often not on the list for wine or beer subscriptions).

You also get bonus gifts with your first box (Check out my review of our first box to see pictures of every thing included).

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Usually this subscription ships bottles, but I’d say once a quarter they send cans instead.

Craft Beer Club Subscription Box Review - Sept 2014 22

Aspen Brewing Company This Season’s Blonde

Number 22 Porter

Verdict: My husband has really gotten into craft beer lately, so he loves this subscription. He prefers bottles to can shipments, but was still happy with this box, and liked every beer even though he doesn’t usually go for IPAs.

For him, the value is definitely there – he pays about $3 a beer, gets it delivered to our house, and gets to try craft beer from around the country. Plus, if you live in one of the states that typically doesn’t allow shipment of alcohol, then you may understand the thrill of getting this box each month!

What do you think of Craft Beer Club?

GoodMouth Subscription Box Review – September 2014http://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2014/09/goodmouth-subscription-box-review-september-2014.html http://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2014/09/goodmouth-subscription-box-review-september-2014.html#comments Mon, 29 Sep 2014 20:22:49 +0000 http://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/?p=29827 GoodMouth Subscription Box Review - September

GoodMouth is a dental care subscription box that sends you tooth brushes and floss which are recommended according to your personalized profile monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly (your choice). For every subscription purchased, GoodMouth donates 2 brushes, or the equivalent in dental care, to someone in need.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription: GoodMouth

The Cost: starts at $4.95 per shipment (your personal plan is very customizable to your own needs)

The Products: Replacement manual toothbrushes or electric toothbrush heads, and floss

Ships to: US

GoodMouth Subscription Box Review - September 2014 Packaging

You can customize your plan according to many things, including number of people in your household. My plan is for two people (my husband and I), so we got 2 toothbrush kits. Every kit in this subscription comes in its own mesh bag at sign-up.

GoodMouth Subscription Box Review - September 2014 Kit

The two kits in the box were the Pink Chameleon with waxed floss, and the Blue Jaguar with waxed floss (“chameleon” and “jaguar” are the names of the toothbrush models, and we selected the colors we wanted them in).

GoodMouth Subscription Box Review - September 2014 Items

This Pink Chameleon brush was selected for me because it’s a good fit for an average-sized, adult mouth and also for its soft bristles to help with my sensitive teeth.

(Note: all brushes come in an extra, plastic wrapper for sanitation! I unwrapped these brushes before taking photos.)

GoodMouth Subscription Box Review - September 2014 Brush

This Blue Jaguar brush was selected for my husband since it is good for average-sized, adult mouths and has a slightly larger brush head and bristles. I actually prefer this brush, too – the shape of the handle is really comfortable and is rubberized for good grip.

Verdict: My GoodMouth subscription cost $15.95 for two manual brushes ($8.95) and 2 packages of floss ($3.50 each, so $7 total). I really like the design of the Jaguar brush, but everything in this kit feels high-quality. Personally, I prefer to use electric brushes, but the one I use now isn’t one of the three models they provide replacement heads for (the Sonicare E-Series, Sonicare Pro Results, or the Oral-B Precision Clean).

I do want to point out that I like the online profile customization. I thought it was very thorough and asked about things I didn’t even think about (mouth sizes, sensitivity/periodontal disease, braces, etc).

Buying replacement tooth brushes or brush heads is, admittedly, something I don’t really think about much even though I know I should. I think a subscription box is a great idea for me to make sure I keep up my toothbrush hygiene without having to think about it.

What do you think about the GoodMouth subscription? How often do you replace your brushes currently?

Homegrown Collective Subscription Box Review - August 2014 Coconut Oil

August’s theme is “the Beauty of Coconut Oil (part two).” Each project in the box comes with a sheet detailing how to use the items included, and providing background on the benefits of the eco-friendly approach. This month, the projects are coconut oil chap stick, coconut toothpaste, and coconut oil deodorant.

Homegrown Collective Subscription Box Review - August 2014 Plan

I’ve been a long-time lover of coconut oil and I missed out on Homegrown Collective’s original Beauty of Coconut Oil box, so I was really excited to see them do a Part Two box.

Homegrown Collective Subscription Box Review - August 2014 Items

DIY Coconut Oil Homegrown Lip Chap

Ingredients: Beeswax, coconut oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil, essential oils of choice (they included lemon and peppermint in this month’s kit).

I can never have too much chapstick – this project was my favorite in the box this month!

Making the chapstick was really simple and I liked the process (it’s really just melting ingredients all together and pouring them in the tubes). It’s supposed to be made last because using the dropper to put the chapstick in the tubes is supposed to ruin the dropper. I wish this fact was listed at the top of the instructions instead of at the bottom, because I definitely made this first (Oops! I should know to read ahead by now!). Fortunately, I was able to salvage the dropper (and I also had an extra from last month’s box to use, too).

However, my issue with this project is that I had a significant amount of excess in the mason jar after filling the chapstick tubes! Seriously, I had enough leftover to make probably eight more chapsticks. I didn’t want to dump so much extra product, but I know I probably won’t keep it around to refill these chapsticks (I don’t even think I’ve ever completely used up a whole tube before), so I just left it in the mason jar for now. I’m hoping to get some more chapstick tubes from a craft store and make use of it so it doesn’t go to waste.

Homegrown Collective Subscription Box Review - August 2014 Tools

DIY Coconut Deoderant

Ingredients: Coconut oil, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), shea butter, maize starch, lemon essential oil, beeswax (optional as a hardener)

I’ve read about connections between deoderants and breast cancer before, but I haven’t actually tried natural deoderants yet – I guess that’s about to change!

There was only one mason jar in the kit and at this point mine was now full of extra chapstick. Fortunately, I had an extra from last month’s kit, so I was able to use that to make the deodorant. The process for this was very similar to the chapstick, and again I had a significant amount of extra leftover (even more than I actually poured into the container). So, I also have a mason jar half-full of perfectly good, natural deodorant formula.

Homegrown Collective Subscription Box Review - August 2014 Ingredients

DIY Coconut Toothpaste

Ingredients: coconut oil, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), sea salt, peppermint essential oil

To be honest, I didn’t end up making the toothpaste. It’s supposed to be kept in a glass jar, which seems like it could be inconvenient, personally. Also, I was already extremely short on glass containers, so I didn’t have one to use to make or to hold the toothpaste in.

Homegrown Collective Subscription Box Review - August 2014 Final Product

(The finished chapsticks and deodorant)

Verdict:  Overall, I liked this Homegrown Collective box. I’m bummed that there was more excess chapstick and deodorant product than I actually needed for the projects (I could have easily halved the recipes for both and still have had a little extra, but it would have been a small enough amount that I wouldn’t feel bad tossing the remainder), and if I didn’t have an extra mason jar on hand, I don’t think I would have been able to complete more than one project. All in all, though, I liked the projects and look forward to trying out the things I made! Even something as simple as chapstick feels so much more cool when you know it’s something you’ve made, don’t you think? I’m already excited for the next box!

What did you think of the August Homegrown Collective box? Do you use 100% natural deodorant or toothpaste like this?

For the Makers DIY Subscription Box Review – Sept 2014 ITems

Here are all the included raw materials.

For the Makers DIY Subscription Box Review – Sept 2014 Sparkle

Here’s the finished bangle and in-progress earrings (I couldn’t attach the hooks to the earrings because I still don’t have a pair of jewelry pliers – I’ll be sure to pick some up before the next For the Makers box!). I don’t think I’ll wear the bangle, but once I get the right tools, I think the earrings will be a pretty cool style.

For the Makers DIY Subscription Box Review – Sept 2014 Tattoo

Well, here are my attempts at the After Party Tattoos. I know that Flash Tattoos have been a huge trend lately, so I was really excited to try a DIY-version using silver leaf! Unfortunately, it didn’t quite turn out at all like the photos in the tutorial, and the silver leaf was kind of difficult to work with. Mine ended up being crinkly or have missing places where the leaf didn’t stick, etc. It’s probably something that gets easier with practice, though!

(In my current, itty-bitty apartment, I couldn’t complete the dyed pillowcase project; I have absolutely zero place to set it up/let it hang to dry. I love the style, though, so I’m definitely holding onto this project to do someday!)

Verdict:  This wasn’t my favorite For the Makers box, but I liked the concepts of all the projects! I also like that the bracelet (and even the pillow case) could make really cool gifts, too.

What did you think of the September For the Makers box? If you subscribe, did you have any better luck with the After Party Tattoo?

I believe the original listing of this box stated that this legging would be size medium, but mine came in large. Usually that’s the size I buy, but these leggings are a little loose, so I would have preferred the medium. Hopefully they will shrink a little in the laundry.

Ecosalon’s The Box: Fair Trade & Fabulous Review Tee

Vera V-Neck Top in White – Value $15

The fabric of this top is pretty thin, but it is a perfect piece for layering. I will definitely wear it a lot!

Ecosalon’s The Box: Fair Trade & Fabulous Review Scarf

INDIGENOUS Fair Trade Organic Tassel Scarf – Value $90

This scarf is made with organic cotton and very cozy. I really like the chocolate brown color too!

Ecosalon’s The Box: Fair Trade & Fabulous Review Necklace

AKOLA PROJECT Demi Paper Bead Necklace – Value $86

This necklace is such a statement piece! It’s amazing each of the beads are made from hand-rolled paper. I’m not sure if I’ll wear this enough to justify keeping it – but it will make a wonderful gift.

Ecosalon’s The Box: Fair Trade & Fabulous Review Shincare

SKINAGAIN Youth – Value $64

I’m very excited to use this product! I love getting full-sized skincare products in boxes – you actually can use it long enough to see if it works for you! This formula is free of gluten, fragrance, parabens, dyes, etc, so I know it won’t irritate my skin.

Ecosalon’s The Box: Fair Trade & Fabulous Review Shots

I AM LIQUID SUPPLEMENTS: Energized, Focused, Happy, Sleepy and Skinny – Value $20

I haven’t tried these yet – if you recommend them let me know!

Ecosalon’s The Box: Fair Trade & Fabulous Review Mascara

LOGONA Mascara Volume No. 2 – Value $22

LIVING LIBATIONS Maiden Fern Blushing Balm – Value $20

BUFF HER HOUSE OF EXFOLIATION Oatmeal Blueberry Cookie Facial Scrub – Value $35

This mascara is new brand for me, and I always am down to try out a new natural mascara. I thought this one was pretty good (not my all-time favorite), but it gave me really dark lashes and length for a more natural look.

This little blushing balm is actually a perfect size – because a little goes a LONG way with this color. I tried it on my lips and my cheeks, and I think I’ll stick with it as just a blush, the red was a little too bold for my lips.

This facial scrub doesn’t scream blueberry cookies to me, but the scent is subtle and lovely!

Ecosalon’s The Box: Fair Trade & Fabulous Review From The Lab

FROM THE LAB Rejuvenating Face CreamUnder Eye Treatment and Hydrating Lip Primer  – Value $60

This was the one item in the box that seemed a little out of place to me from EcoSalon, since From The Lab isn’t a natural brand.

Verdict: I’m very happy I bought this box. I love that it was fashion themed, and I got to try out a lot new-to-me fair-trade brands. I’m also thrilled with the value. Were you able to snag a box before it sold out? What did you think of it?

Since I saw some suggestions for box items in the comments, I thought it would be helpful to also create a post asking for ideas and suggestions for MSA Quarterly future boxes!

What items do you want to see in future boxes?

Are there any types of items you’re OK with seeing regularly?

What types of items do you never want to see in the box?

Any other feedback?

I will take all these suggestions to heart in planning future boxes. Thank you!

QVC New Beauty Test Tube October 2014 Spoilershttp://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2014/09/qvc-new-beauty-test-tube-october-2014-spoilers.html http://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2014/09/qvc-new-beauty-test-tube-october-2014-spoilers.html#comments Sun, 28 Sep 2014 12:09:47 +0000 http://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/?p=29791 QVC New Beauty Test Tube October 2014 Spoilers!

The spoilers are out for the October 2014 QVC New Beauty Test Tube box! (These are pictures I took from the Summer/Fall 2014 New Beauty Test Tube magazine).

FYI – I don’t have a link to purchase this box since it isn’t available yet.

And one more FYI – The QVC New Beauty Test Tube is a different box than the regular New Beauty Test Tube. The QVC Test Tube is available four times a year, and you can buy a single box or sign up for an auto-shipment subscription. The regular New Beauty Test Tube subscription ships every other month and is a subscription only.

QVC New Beauty Test Tube October 2014 Spoilers Samples

Each October QVC New Beauty Test Tube will include:

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream (not sure of size, value estimate $8)

Mally High Shine Liquid Lipstick (not sure of size, value estimate $20)

Dr. Denese HydroShield Ultra Moisturizing Face Serum (10 ml) Value $20

Laura Geller Waterproof Eye Spackle – Value $23

Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Butter (1 oz) Value $5

Ole Henriksen Lemon Strip Flash Peel (7 g) Value $7

IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF50+ (4 ml) Value $5

Lea Journo Pro Series Technician Shampoo Creme (2 oz) Value $4

What do you think of the spoilers? I’ve been subscribing to this box for a while now, so their are some brands and items I really wish they would stop repeating, but I am excited to try the lemon strip peel.

Stitch Fix Review – October 2014http://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2014/09/stitch-fix-review-october-2014.html http://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2014/09/stitch-fix-review-october-2014.html#comments Sun, 28 Sep 2014 02:24:09 +0000 http://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/?p=29775 Stitch Fix Review - October 2014 Box

Stitch Fix is a monthly styling subscription service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey about your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences, and then your personal stylist sends you 5 items to try once a month. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

FYI – My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Stitch Fix Review - October 2014 Items

The Subscription Box: Stitch Fix

The Cost: $20 Styling fee (Pay for whatever items you keep minus the $20 credit)

The Products: 5 clothing and accessory items selected for you based on your Style Profile.

Ships to: US Only

Check out all of my Stitch Fix Reviews and the Women’s Clothing Subscription Box Directory!

Stitch Fix Review - October 2014 Cards

Each box comes with cards with styling suggestions for every piece, plus a letter from your stylist. (For reference, I requested casual items with a Free People look).

Stitch Fix Review - October 2014 Scarf

Look by M Plaid Infinity Scarf - Cost to Keep $34

Well, sometimes my stylist sends things that aren’t really me, and then an item like this comes along and in my head I’m cheering “She gets me!” This scarf is so cozy. Absolutely a keeper.

Stitch Fix Review - October 2014 Hoodie

Loveapella Draw String Funnel Neck Sweatshirt – Cost to Keep $64

This sweatshirt isn’t made of traditional thick sweatshirt material, so it’s much more flattering, but still just as soft. I think this is another keeper as it seems like it will be a go-to piece with jeans this fall.

Stitch Fix Review - October 2014 Top

Laila Jayde Mixed Media Material Long Sleeve Top – Cost to Keep $78

This is a pretty pricey somewhat-basic top for me. Here is a better look at the different fabrics:

Stitch Fix Review - October 2014 Detail

I couldn’t find care instructions on this top, but I’m guessing it’s likely dry clean only, so it goes back. I need easy laundry clothes only!

Stitch Fix Review - October 2014 Tulle

Tulle Geo Print Belted Tie Front Coat – Cost to Keep $104

I actually own quite a few Tulle coats thanks to my time at ModCloth, and I really like their clothing. This jacket fits great, but I’m concerned that the outer material is quilted – it seems like something that would easily snag or at least not look so great by the end of the winter season. I’m sending this one back for that reason and also because I already own way too many coats! (I’m terrible at resisting 70%+ sales after the holidays!)

Stitch Fix Review - October 2014 Pants

Kut from the Kloth Corduroy Straight Leg Pant – Cost to Keep $78

I haven’t worn corduroy since middle school, but I was willing to give these pants a chance. I think they would have worked better for me if the were a little stretchy/borderline jegging. Since corduroy is already a pretty heavy fabric, these added a little too much bulk. They are going back as well.

Verdict: I got two items I really love from this “fix” and I think this is the closest I’ve ever come to keeping all five items. Nothing was a complete miss this month. I think I’m going to update my pants preferences in my profile to get much more specific on what I’m looking for, but other than that I think my stylist is doing a great job!

What do you think of Stitch Fix? if you subscribe, are your stylists picks for you improving month over month?

Each box comes with a fold out card detailing all the items included.

FabFitFun VIP Fall 2014 Subscription Box Review & Coupon Apron Folded

Jessie Steele Apron – Value $32

A few weeks ago I got an email to pick which color apron I wanted. (I think this is because I’ve been subscribing since the first box). I went with black and white since it seems pretty classic!

FabFitFun VIP Fall 2014 Subscription Box Review & Coupon Apron

These aprons are cute and well-made. I may end up swapping for a few more to use as holiday gifts!

FabFitFun VIP Fall 2014 Subscription Box Review & Coupon Lip Gloss

Beauty for Real true Color Lip Cream in Always There – Value $24

Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster – Value $56

This lip cream has a built in mirror in the cap and it lights up too. I have a lot of lipgloss right now, so I think I’ll pass this along to a friend.

I’ve read great reviews of this dermalogica skin hydrating booster, and I’m excited to give it a try – especially since it is free of parabens and synthetic fragrances and colors!

FabFitFun VIP Fall 2014 Subscription Box Review & Coupon Socks

CHI 44 Iron Guard – Value $15

Great Soles Pink Ribbon Ballet Barre Ped – Value $13

I love these socks! They are pretty thin, have grippy soles, and perfect for workouts like yoga, or just walking around the house! And for every set of the Pink Breast Cancer Awareness socks that are sold, Great Soles will donate $3. There is also an offer for FabFitFun fans to get 2 pairs of socks free when they purchase 3. Just sign up here for your unique coupon code.

FabFitFun VIP Fall 2014 Subscription Box Review & Coupon Soap

LaNatura Travel Size Body Butter in Green Tea – Value $18

The Honest Co. Hydrating Shea Butter Cleansing Bar – Value $5

I’ve already tried and use the Honest Co. soap, so while it wasn’t a new discovery for me, it’s always nice to have a spare. The LaNatura body butter was new to me though and I couldn’t wait to try it. Turns out, it’s not the typical type of body butter I expected – aka a thicker cream than a lotion. Instead it’s more of a balm. A little goes a long way, so that explains why the container is somewhat shallow. I think I like the scent too – I haven’t decided yet!

FabFitFun VIP Fall 2014 Subscription Box Review & Coupon Set

Gramr Gratitude Co. Thank You Card Set, Sealing Wax, & Wax Press – Wax Press Value $25, Cards Value $16, Sealing Wax Value $4

This is a set of cards, complete with a wax press and sealing wax. I think it’s a pretty unique item to include in a subscription box, and I like it! Here are the four cards I received:

FabFitFun VIP Fall 2014 Subscription Box Review & Coupon Cards

Each card is a like a postcard (it’s not a folded card).

FabFitFun VIP Fall 2014 Subscription Box Review & Coupon Numi

Numi Organic Tea (sponsored)

Mary’s Gone Crackers (sponsored)

These are the two sponsored items in the box this quarter. I think the choice of sponsored items is much better than the sponsored items in the summer box! (I love Numi tea, and these crackers were pretty good!)

FabFitFun VIP Fall 2014 Subscription Box Review & Coupon Coupon

This box also came with a coupon to get 25% off your first Honest Company order – use coupon code HONESTLYFAB. And there is also a 3-month subscription to FitFusion. (You do have to enter credit card info for the 3-month trial though).

Verdict: I think the Fall FabFitFun VIP box is a really good box. I like that they included some unique items this season like the apron and card set, and the beauty items of course are great too. (And the value is awesome – over $200 not counting the FitFusion 3-month trial!) If anything I’d like to see more “Fit” items from this box.

Giant Microbes Brain Cell – Value $10

This Brain Cell plush is featured in both the girls and boys junior boxes this month. (And the Scriblenauts mystery figure was also in the NerdBlock Classic box!)

Sonic The Hedgehog Pull Backs Racer – Value $8? (This is the Amazon price, but seems a little high).

The Trash Pack Mystery Bag – Value $2? (Another item I couldn’t find online for pricing).

Verdict: We paid $20 for this box (shipped) and received about $35 worth of items. We use this subscription for gifts, and I think pretty much every item in this box is a good stocking stuffer type gift! (I’m already in holiday shopping mode!)

Each box comes with a thank you note and an informational card detailing the featured items.

Dottie Box Mini Subscription Review - September 2014 Cards

EInvite.com Stationary Sample cards + Envelopes – set of 5, value: $5

I love getting stationery in subscription boxes because I rarely think to buy any, but when I have some handy I actually send notes to my friends!

Dottie Box Mini Subscription Review - September 2014 Coasters

FLOX Cheeky Birds Coasters – pack of 4, value: $18

Berry’s Creations Loose Nail Glitter – value: $4

These coasters are my favorite thing in the box. They’re very good quality, and I adore the design (the background patterns are a pretty mint blue and red). These went onto my coffee table as soon as I was done taking photos!

Verdict: I’m very happy with this mini Dottie Box. I probably won’t use the nail glitter, but my little sister-in-law will be excited about getting that passed onto her. The coasters and stationery are both really well-made and definitely things I’m going to use! As far as value goes, the box adds up to $27 – for a $13 cost, I’m happy.
