Enchanted Crystal: Crystal of the Month February 2018 Review

Greetings Page

First, you'll see a greeting from Adam of Enchanted Crystal with an update on what he's been doing as well as a thank you to everyone who subscribed in 2017.

Amethyst Info Page

Next, there's an info sheet all about the featured Crystal of the Month! February is a gorgeous Amethyst!

Amethyst Crystal

Amethyst from Minas Gerais, Brazil

What a beautiful specimen they've sent this month! It makes so much sense since it is the birthstone for February. This one hails from the famous mining area, Minas Gerais in Brazil, where some of the largest amethyst geodes ever have been found. At 2.5 inches long, 2.75 inches across it's widest point and an inch deep, this is by far the largest crystal of the month I've received to date. It' really a chunk of a geode which is just so cool!

bottom of Amethyst Crystal

Even though the bottom doesn't look as special, I love seeing the cross-section to show the layers this one went through.

Up close, you can see all of the different shades of pretty purple as well as the random formations throughout the amethyst. The info sheet tells me that way back in the day, the Greeks believed that amethyst prevented drunkenness, so it was widely worn and even carved into wine glasses. Even the word amethyst comes from the Greek term "a-methystos" meaning "not drunk". Amazing! I need to carry this with me on my next night out. 😛 Today, it's highly regarded as a healing stone and helps calm the beholder and eliminate impatience.

Bonus minerals bag

Enchanted Crystal always sends a bag full of bonus crystals and minerals as well which is always lots of fun.

Amazonite

Amazonite

I can't stop looking at this one! It reminds me of a glacier with it's white and turquoise-blue coloring. Can't you picture this somewhere in the Arctic, covered in polar bears?

a different view of Amazonite

Enchanted Crystal doesn't give me any info on the bonus minerals or crystals, but looking online, I found some truly lovely sounding information on it's supposed powers via Crystal Vaults:

Called the Stone of Courage and the Stone of Truth, Amazonite empowers one to search the self and discover one’s own truths and integrity, and to move beyond fear of judgment or confrontation with others to live in alignment with those beliefs and values. It provides the freedom to express one’s thoughts and feelings, and to set strong and clear boundaries, both internally as self-discipline, and externally on what one is willing to experience or in defining personal space

Doesn't that sound amazing?!

Another view of Amazonite

Even though this isn't the most sparkly stone I've seen, I am truly drawn to it.

2 Black Tourmalines

Black Tourmaline

I already have some black tourmaline, but it's just so cool looking that I don't mind adding to my collection. I love the raw form of these that are covered in ridges.

other side of 2 Black Tourmalines

Black Tourmaline is said to have strong protection properties, as well as helping strengthen the immune system. It makes sense that these would then be very useful to wear.

Tangerine Quartz Shards

Tangerine Quartz Shards

I've been getting a lot of quartz shards as bonus crystals the last few months, which allows me to share them with friends. These, however, are of the tangerine variety which I almost missed until seeing the label on the bag. Though mine is still mostly clear, you can see traces of tangerine colors in some.

Here's an amazing expert I found at Healing Crystals' website:

Metaphysically, Tangerine Quartz is a remarkable tool to use when working with the issues of Inner self (understanding, acceptance, growth).  It helps to evaluate and face these inner issues without judgment or criticism.  The energy of Tangerine Quartz allows for the forgiveness and release of past issues/traumas that no longer serve and in fact have held us back from going forward.

Again, something I can really use lately: help working on my inner self!

Verdict: Enchanted Crystal delivered a gorgeous crystal of the month with a gang of bonus crystals to boot for just $16.00. I always look forward to this delivery since I'm excited to slowly learn more about crystals (whether or not one may believe they have powers). My crystal altar has been bursting with color and beauty since starting this subscription and I am loving it.

I had a neighbor who gave me an amethyst which was about 8 inches long and 5-6 inches across and really thick. It is really pretty. I thought that the Amazonite was very pretty also. Would love to have that in a larger size.
