Note from Liz: I’m so happy to introduce our newest reviewer to the MSA team! Welcome, Colette!

EBY is a new monthly intimates subscription service that delivers affordable & luxurious seamless undies to your door while empowering women through microfinance. 10% of EBY’s new sales provide small loans to women to start their own businesses. This subscription is founded by Renata Black (a microfinance guru trained under Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus) and Sofia Vergara (an actress, business powerhouse, & seamless undie devotee).

EBY February 2018 Box open

This hot pink box is definitely bold and I was excited to see it in my mailbox! As a bit of a (self-proclaimed quasi) feminist, I loved seeing the empowering message printed inside the lid - “United We Stand In Seamless Underwear” – something I can definitely get behind.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is for the $16 monthly subscription with the following preferences:

  • Step 1 [size]: Large
  • Step 2 [style group]: Briefs & Cheekies
  • Step 3 [color group]: Mixed
  • Step 4 [delivery option]: 1 Pair / $16 / Once a Month

One critical comment: EBY did not send a packing slip or wrap in tissue because of their concern over their carbon footprint – they certainly enclosed enough other paper/info cards in the box! Also, for a single pair of undies they probably could have just used an envelope mailer instead of an actual box (can you tell I wanted my packing slip?)

The welcome card features some of the key messages about the brand – quotes from the founders – and information about the microfinance process.

The first card highlights a story of a woman named Blanka, a woodworker from Nicaragua empowered by a loan of $200 USD.

On the reverse side, we get to meet Lilia, the EBY film director, a survivor of and advocate against domestic abuse.

Now onto the panties!

The panties came in a small plastic bag, which I appreciate for cleanliness sake! But, it would have felt a bit more like a present if they threw a piece of tissue paper in the box.

EBY Brief Panty in Teal– Retail Value $16.00 (I believe these are unavailable to purchase individually)

I received a pair of brief style panties in turquoise. These undies are made in Sri Lanka out of 85% polyamide and 15% Elastane and have 100% cotton lining. EBY recommends hand washing in cold water, air drying flat to dry to preserve the integrity of the panty.

I LOVE these panties. They are soft, comfortable, silky, and DO NOT SHOW under yoga pants (which I live in). They stay in place even when working out, and the quality seems like they will hold up well with proper care.

Here’s a closer photo of what a seamless seam looks like:

The “Brief” Description from EBY:

A woman has no boundaries, but panty lines do. Flocking technology keeps these briefs where they should be, and seamless construction means there’s zero panty line to show.”

Umm… Flocking technology? What the heck is that might you ask – well here’s the long and short of it directly from EBY:

“Inner armor for outer strength: Our flocking technology is our not-so secret weapon against riding, bunching and digging. It keeps your undies where they’re meant to be: on your bum.

We don’t use elastic or seams. Instead we use a special fabric that seamlessly shapes your EBY undies to your body, giving you the freedom to dominate in a panty line-free universe.

And they don’t only look good, but feel good too. Velvet soft to be exact. It’s the flocking technology in all our EBY undies that allows them to move with you as you run, shape and shift the world. Booya!

VerdictNot only do I love the panties that I received from EBY, I really love their message of female empowerment. While $16 is on the high end of what I’d pay for a single pair of panties, I like the practical convenience of having new undies delivered to my door monthly, the quality of the product, and the fact that a portion of that money is going to help other women achieve their goals. My only wish is that once I put them on, my bottom would look like Sophia’s! 😊

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Since you will likely have different profile answers, it’s unlikely that you will get this exact pair. However, you should receive your box about a week after you sign up – so you definitely could still get a first delivery in February.

Value Breakdown: At $16.00 for this box, you’re paying $16.00 for a pair of undies, but helping to fund someone’s dream.

I can’t attest to the customer service, but the underwear are all I’ll wear. I have no buttons and pencil legs. All my meat went up top…thanks Norwegian genes. Underwear from ANYWHERE would slide off. I hated it. Not anymore. They rock!

5 days after I contacted them to cancel my account they charged my credit card for $45 and sent me a new box. Not cool.

This company is horrible. Once you get your first shipment they continue to charge your card and send out ugly colors of underwear and I have tried numerous times to contact them to stop my shipments but I get no response. How convenient that the emails bounce back. They make it impossible to stop the shipments now I have to have my bank deal with this horrible company.

Horrible customer service. I got charged in March and didn’t receive a box until I emailed, FBed, tweeted, and called for months until I finally got a response and my box was sent. I asked them to cancel and here I am, months later being charged again (6/3/19) and have not received anything.

Their customer service is horrible! I had a quarterly subscription and I have only received my first box. I was charge for the new quarter but never got anything -A MONTH AGO!

I’ve emailed, called, left voicemails, tweeted, and messaged on FB.

No response!!! I’m removing my payment information front their site and hoping to never see a change again. I’m still going to fight for a refund or a package.

I tried to remove my credit card number but it doesn’t remove. I tried to canceled my subscription on the app but couldn’t. I called and they said they cancled it but I just got a shipment. Excuse was my subscription was only on hold and the hold expired. I asked for a return label but they ignore the request. Geez this is poor business practice. I’ll have to dispute the charge with my bank.

It was funny to see a notification of a message here. They are the absolute worst! I used to try and comment on all of the EBY reviews as it is so atrocious but gave up as a few people love them so much. File for a dispute with your bank. It will be quicker than ever getting a dime from them.

Omg. The most comfortable underwear I have ever worn! Wish I could replace all my underwear immediately. More than I have ever paid for a pair of underwear, but I think it is worth it.

Jennifer

This is bar none the worst customer service of my life. I wear a 12-14 and ordered three pairs in XL based on reviews. They rolled badly and instead of offering to replace them by sendings mine back, they requested photos of me wearing them. Heck no! When I refused their only solution was to cancel future orders. That’s $45 I will never see again for underwear I can’t wear. I will never shop from them again.

I know this is way late but their customer service is atrocious. They did not address a concern I had with my first box (they never returned calls or emails) and now I am trying to cancel and of course, not getting anywhere. For the time being, I have removed my credit card information and skipped the next box. But I would like confirmation of a cancellation to ensure they do not send me anything else in the future.

Reply ButtonReply

Colette

OMG – I’m so sorry for that experience. That is absurd!! IMO they should have refunded or replaced for you. I would push back and ask for a refund!

Reply ButtonReply

Leigh

Hey Colette, do you mind telling me your pants size? I’ve been considering these and I’m stuck between ordering a L vs XL. I wear a 14 so I could go either way.

Reply ButtonReply

Colette

Hi Leigh! Agree – you could go either way – but in my opinion, you would be happier with an XL. If they’re too small, they’re not going to stay put and be seamless the way you want them to be!

Reply ButtonReply

Mel

I ordered because of this review, thanks for being so thorough! I received my first pair and they really are that comfortable, didn’t show lines even in stretchy pants, and didn’t budge all day.

My only caveat is that customer service seems to be pretty unresponsive. My tracking number didn’t work and I emailed them with no response at all. A FB message got a response after 2 days and no response so far to a follow up question through FB or email. However, I like the undies so much I’ll deal with poor customer service!

Reply ButtonReply

Colette

Ah, that’s good to know! I have not had to deal directly with their customer service yet, thank you for posting! Glad you liked them too!

Did the underwear stay up all day? The only seamless undies I’ve tried, from gap many years ago, kept slouching down. Like an old pair of normal underwear with work out elastic.

Reply ButtonReply

Colette

Yes, I had no slouching problems at all! They stayed in place, even at the gym. I’ve had issues in the past with panties riding up and getting a “wedgie” but these stayed put.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

I wonder if you will only get undies? I am intrigued by the picture of the bra.

Reply ButtonReply

Colette

I was wondering the same thing – but in the questionnaire you only fill out panty information (no bra sizing questions) so I’m certain that at least for now, panties are the only product that will be included in the box.

Reply ButtonReply

TK

Great review! I currently get MeUndies (boxer brief style) and love them but am always willing to try something new. They use a waterproof mailer instead of a box.

Reply ButtonReply

Colette

See, they figured out the whole “carbon footprint reduction thing!”

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Although $16 is a bit more than I would usually pay for a panty, if they really don’t show, don’t ride up, and actually cover my butt (!), then I’m all for it, especially given the charitable work the company supports. I’m in!

Reply ButtonReply

Colette

Agree 100% Beth! Plus, it’s a great way to keep your undie wardrobe fresh. I typically go to VS and buy in bulk a few times a year (I like their seamless panties as well) – but this is a fun way to take that “chore” off of my plate!

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

Those undies look comfy! I have to question why the difference between the regular sizing and plus sizing; being only able to get a g string instead of a thong in the plus sizes. In my person experience thongs can be comfortable, but g string is… butt floss. No offense if butt floss is your mojo, I just wish thongs were an option in their extended sizes.

That being said great review! Welcome!

Reply ButtonReply

Colette

Thanks for the comment Jessica. I totally agree – I thought the difference in thong v. G-string was odd too.

On the website – they do have an example of both panties on an actual human:

Thong: https://join-eby.com/thong.html
G-String: https://join-eby.com/g-string.html

Hopefully this helps to answer your question!

Is EBY affiliated with Adore Me? The little box that has review stats from reader feedback on customer service, etc. for this box says it’s for Adore Me…?

Oops! Sorry, that was a mistake on our part. Fixing it now. Thanks!

Welcome aboard 😊 I enjoyed the review.
I would also like to comment on the carbon footprint portion….A padded envelope besides being a better option in that aspect, I think would likely be more cost effective for buying and shipping cost.
I will also be interested to see how many info cards they will send you with your next shipment.

Colette

Thanks for your comment! I agree – I’m curious to see what they send next month as well. Maybe they’ll see my review and inclose the darn packing slip! 🙂
