Black Metallic Two-Piece Sweater Dress modeled

Black Metallic Two-Piece Sweater Dress, Size 2x - Retail Value Unavailable

This month’s CHC Vintage selection is a bit different than the normal dresses it was a two piece sweater dress or sweater top and skirt combo. Tomato, tomahto. Potato, potahto. Either way you put it, this ensemble is fabulous! I immediately got excited thinking about the variety of options in how to style the pieces together and separately. Simply wearing the top untucked rather than tucked in with a belt made for two diverse looks, so imagine the possibilities wearing these items with different tops and bottoms!

Both pieces are a black acrylic material with silver threading. The sweater top has a vertical cable knit like detail going down the center. This is the second mock turtleneck style CHC has sent me recently (my January review also featured a gorgeous mock turtleneck style dress), but don’t take that as a complaint because I am quite the fan of them! The sweater material has ample stretch and is wonderfully cozy for the chilly weather out here in the Tundradome! I can envision wearing this top with my black disco pant leggings, studded buckle boots from my first Shoedazzle review, and a biker jacket for a tough, yet chic look. Serving Markie Post from Night Court meets Tura Satana in Faster, Pussycat, Kill Kill! realness!

The skirt part of this ensemble has a flattering pencil style cut and has a great deal of stretch. My only concern is stretching out the material too much with this separate, but regardless I adore this piece.

The skirt obviously looks amazing with the top it came with, but this sparkly number looks fantastic teamed up with a casual t-shirt as well. In this case, a band shirt for a night with friends at the local watering hole. I opted to pair the skirt half of this killer set with my favorite Ronettes t-shirt, Lolita heart-shaped sunglasses featured in my recent Pinup in a Pack review, and my trusty pin covered faux leather biker jacket. If you are looking for a look for the office, pair the skirt with a white button-down top, a rhinestone, silver, statement necklace, retro thick, stretch belt, and heels for a look that will inspire plenty of water cooler talk.

Verdict: CHC Vintage aced it once again! If you read my reviews, you know I appreciate pieces that are versatile that give me a bang for my buck. Off of the top of my head, I can think of six ways alone to style the pieces together and separately that they sent me this month. WHAT A VALUE! The stylists at CHC understand what appeals to me and consistently provide me such unique, vintage pieces month after month. It feels as though they went scouring the thrift stores for the perfect piece just for me! Quality plus size vintage is difficult to find as well, but they always manage to find gorgeous pieces. $35 is an amazing value for an immensely customized and personalized service like the one that CHC provides!

I am LIVING for your reviews! This is so super cute, and as always I love your styling. I love the quality of this sub and the fact that they’re able to consistently source vintage in sizes past large, which is SO hard.

Also, after reading all of your CHC Vintage reviews (and Ragan’s, too) I just took the plunge for a 3 month sub. At $90 for the 3 month sub, it’s too intriguing to pass up.

A.M.

I swear in the early ’90’s, I had a VERY similar 2-pc set (minus the top’s vertical design), made of a similar gnarled grey/black knit material by Esprit.

I loved it then & you are completely owning the look here!! Well done- your reviews continue to be among my favorites on MSA!
