Bulu Box is a monthly fitness and weight loss subscription. The original Bulu Box is focused more on fitness and general health supplements, and they also offer a Weight Loss box that focuses more on diet products.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Bulu Box February 2018 Review

There isn’t a theme for Bulu Box and there is some personalization involved, so the contents are usually a surprise:

Because of the variations with this subscription, there’s not a traditional information card listing the items.

There are also usually some coupons and/or product literature with this subscription. They don’t always relate to the items in the box.

NiteClear Sleep Aid (1.93 fl oz)

NiteClear Sleep Aid (1.93 fl oz) – Buy a 12-Pack for $23.88

This is basically liquid Benadryl (diphenhydramine). I had a hard time sleeping last night, so when I got up to feed Mr. Kitty at 3AM (this is a nightly thing, and by the way, half of this review was written with him sitting on top of my lap and right forearm), I drank this. I am not sure how much of an effect it had. It tasted pretty terrible, though, and I could not drink enough water to get the flavor out of my mouth.

This product also appeared in the weight loss version of Bulu Box this month (review coming soon!).

Seaweed Bath Company Moisturizing Argan Shampoo and conditioner sample packets

Seaweed Bath Company Moisturizing Argan Shampoo (foil packet) – Buy a 12 oz bottle for $12.99

Seaweed Bath Company Moisturizing Argan Conditioner (foil packet) – Buy a 12 oz bottle for $12.99

I have used some of this company’s bath products in the past and liked them. I didn’t know they made shampoo and conditioner. Argan oil shampoo and conditioner generally work for my hair and these were no exception, though there wasn’t really enough conditioner in here for one use (I have long hair). These products are cruelty-free if that is important to you.

This product also appeared in the weight loss version of Bulu Box this month (review coming soon!).

Synodrin Triple Action Joint Health Supplement (42 capsules) – Buy 90 Capsules for $39.99

You will sometimes receive a full size supplement with Bulu Box. Unfortunately, this one will not work for me. Although glucosamine and hyaluronic acid have some joint health benefits, hyaluronic acid is not vegetarian and the capsules also have gelatin in them. (The glucosamine comes from a vegetarian source but I don’t know why they bother considering the rest of the ingredients, unless they are trying to avoid shellfish-based ingredients for allergy sufferers.) Please note that Bulu Box does not cater to any specific dietary restrictions.

Synodrin Maximum Strength Arthritis and Muscle Pain Relief Gel (3 oz) – Buy 3 oz for $9.97

This is meant to be used in conjunction with the supplement above. It also contains hyaluronic acid. In skincare products, this helps draw moisture and minimize the appearance of fine lines. I am not sure it’s going to do much for the joints when applied topically! This does also contain turmeric (which is anti-inflammatory) and a small amount of menthol, which can be cooling and is found in other joint rubs. I tried some of this on my shoulders and I maybe felt a little something, but most products of this sort don’t have huge effects on me (the one exception being the Tiger Balm patches).

This product also appeared in the weight loss version of Bulu Box this month (review coming soon!).

Zollipops (5 count) – Buy 25 for $5.99

These are xylitol lollipops. If you consume a bit of xylitol after a meal, especially in the form of a mint or hard candy, it can keep plaque at bay (not a substitute for brushing your teeth, but think of it as something extra to help out). Bulu Box has sent these before and they taste fine, so I will use them. (Please keep them away from dogs and cats as xylitol is toxic to them.)

Verdict: There were five items in this month’s Bulu Box. How much value to assign to each depends on how much you paid for the box. If you paid full price, they average out to $2 apiece. I got in on a $5 for life deal, so the average cost per item is $1 for me. You can currently use our coupon code MYSUB599 to get your subscription at $5.99 per month, for the lifetime of the subscription! From my perspective, the individual item values were generally above $1, so I feel like I got a good deal this month, although the highest value item (the supplement) was something I couldn’t take.

I’d strongly recommend using our MYSUB599 coupon code when you subscribe and choosing either the regular or the weight loss box, but not both since there is a lot of product repetition between the two. Please also note that instead of getting points you can redeem for merchandise if you review your samples, now you get sweepstakes entries, which isn’t as good of a deal (unless you are the winner…).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, March would be your first shipment. Also, keep in mind that there are variations in the boxes, so your box might not be exactly like mine in any given month.

Coupon - Use our coupon code MYSUB599 to get your subscription at $5.99 per month, for the lifetime of the subscription!

Value Breakdown: At $10 for the box, you are paying about $2 per item.

you’re not lying about that niteclear! it tasted terrible! i did use both and they did actually seem to work. i slept deeper, too. but i wouldn’t ever buy them because the taste is so terrible. they need to just have liqui-caps or something.

I received the supplements, lollipops, liquid sleep aid, and shampoo and conditioner just like you, but I a sample pack of multivitamins and a single tea bag (sport tea or something). I don’t drink tea so giving that away. I was hoping for more protein based items as I donate plasma and they check my protein every time I go in. I am most excited about the supplements and the Seaweed products. For $5.99 I definitely got my money’s worth. I am content.

I received a sample of the muscle relief gel a few months back. My husband has RA and he actually really liked it. I was super excited to get two full products this month for him to use!

I am unusually not sensitive to that type of product. No idea why. Maybe it is better for arthritis than muscle pain (I don’t have arthritis)? I used to use Bengay all the time but now it barely does anything for me.

Glad to hear it is working for someone, though.

Interesting: I got the same box but no cream. Is it possible they’re putting less in the boxes of those that have the $5 for life deal?

I was missing the cream too and I sent them an email. Their CS is usually very responsive when I’ve had any issues in the past.

I got the exact same box as the review and also have the $5 for life.

I have the $5 for life deal, too, though.
