Tutu Royal December 2017 Review

Tutu Royal Snowflake Princess December 2017 Booklet

The information card told the theme this month: Snowflake Princess. It explained the STEM princess characteristic of the month: Love. It also listed each item in the box and had a brief piece of literature about aviation.

Characteristic Card

Characteristic Card

This month’s characteristic card is about showing love. This card encourages your princess to reflect on what they love most about themselves.

Snowflake Princess Dress

Snowflake Princess Dress – Estimated Value $25.00

The dress this month had a plain red cotton top which felt like a t-shirt. It was very similar in style and feel to the dress they sent last month. It didn’t feel as well made as the dresses we’ve received previously. The bottom half of the dress was a thick red satin type material with white snowflakes scattered about. There was a zipper at the neckline to make the dress easier to get on and off.

Snowflake Princess Dress modeled

Here is my daughter modeling her snowflake dress.

How People Learned to Fly (Let’s Read and Find Out Science 2) By Fran Hodgkins book cover

How People Learned to Fly (Let’s Read and Find Out Science 2) By Fran Hodgkins inside book

How People Learned to Fly (Let’s Read and Find Out Science 2) By Fran Hodgkins – Retail Price $5.99 (found here for $5.39)

Each month Tutu Royal sends a nonfiction book that matches the theme of the box. Since the literature on the information card was about aviation they choose a book about flying this month. My four-year-old daughter liked this book more than most of the nonfiction books we’ve received thus far.

Kookies by Keirsten Tiara Cookie

Kookies by Keirsten Tiara Cookie – Estimated Value $4.00

This frosted cookie was delicious as always (though it would be nice to mix it up a bit I think). Tutu Royal had it double packaged in a sealed bag and bubble wrap to protect it in transit. We love that Tutu Royal sends a yummy cookie each month.

Verdict: My daughter enjoys the Tutu Royal box and I was happy to see how much was included for the $30 (plus shipping) price point. I am estimating the value of the box to be around $35 which is a little lower than usual. We were disappointed that there was no accessory this month (we miss the headbands and hair clips they used to send) and that the dress was so similar to last month’s as well. Tutu Royal is a fun box for girls but after a few months, it does start to feel repetitive.
