Rebecca Mail “Baby It’s Cold Outside” Deluxe Box December 2017 Review

This is the last monthly Rebecca Mail Box before it switches to a quarterly plan. Let’s see what’s inside:

Here’s the info card for the “Baby It’s Cold Outside” December box.

rebecca mail mug old fashioned mug mug on its side

Exclusive “Warm & Cozy” Mug – Retail Value $16.00

One of my absolute favorite feelings is coming in from the cold and wrapping my hands around a warm mug that’s filled to the brim with something hot and heartwarming. This 15 oz ceramic mug is perfect for just that task! I really like these kinds of old-fashioned mugs with speckles and a stout little shape. And the “Warm & Cozy” phrase fits it perfectly.

Anchor Me “Inspire Me” Bracelet – Retail Value $13.00

This green bracelet is a little bit on the simple side—looking at other Anchor Me products, they have a lot of charms that I would’ve preferred to get over this very basic metal ring. Still, I like how comfortable it is to wear. The silver bead makes it easy to adjust to fit flush against my wrist. Because of the sweet sentiment on the card it comes with, it’d also make a great gift for a good friend!

Werlang Paper 2018 Desk Calendar – Listed Value $12.00

Mini Easel – Listed Value $4.00

I am so smitten with this unique desk calendar! The design is done by Carlota Viera of Werlang Paper, but the florals remind me a lot of Rifle Paper Company designs. Not only do each of the monthly cards look gorgeous, but the light wood easel adds an extra bit of natural texture that I really like. The cards are about the size of index cards, so they help me check out monthly dates at a glance without taking up a ton of space on my desk.

Exclusive Christmas Car Card – Listed Value $4.50

Every Rebecca Mail box comes with a card so that you can pass the joy of snail mail on to someone you love. This card is a sweet Christmas greeting, and the quality of the paper is nice. My only qualm is having the price stamped on the back of the card. Most cards I find at stores these days cost around $4.00, so I don’t think it’d be a shock to see “$4.50” back there, but it just feels kind of weird… What do you think?

starbucks cocoa mix packet starbucks hot cocoa mix

Starbucks Gourmet Hot Cocoa Mix, 1.25 oz. – Listed Value $2.50 (Buy a 24 count box for $17.58 here)

I love almost anything Starbucks, and Starbucks hot cocoa? Amazing! I was going to make tea in my new mug, but now I’m going to have to treat myself with this rich, chocolatey mix!

goodness knows bar goodness knows bar ingredients four squares of goodness knows bar

Goodness Knows Cranberry and Almond Bar, 1.20 oz. – Listed Value $2.00 (Buy a 5-count box for $9.99 here)

I’m not the biggest cranberry fan, but I know it’s a super seasonal holiday flavor! I have to say I did like this bar—the pop of dark chocolate was nice, the nutty bite was really satisfying, and the fact that it’s pre-broken-up into squares makes it easy to munch on over the course of a Saturday afternoon of holiday errands.

The Verdict: This was a really fun holiday box of surprises from Rebecca Mail! The card was really the only thing with a specific Christmas slant, so I feel like the items could work for celebrating all the holidays—and just winter in general. I thought it was particularly thoughtful that they not only included a mug but something fun to put inside of it. (And not just a generic brand of cocoa—a really delicious brand of gourmet cocoa!)

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Sign up to get the next available box! (Remember that from here on out, deluxe boxes will be quarterly, rather than monthly.)

Value Breakdown: I paid $41.00 (price + shipping) for this box and estimate that there’s $54.00 worth of product inside. Granted, I’m basing a lot of that value on the listed values on the info card (since there are so many exclusives). But if those values are correct, then proportionally, the price I paid for each of the items in the box is:

  • Mug – $12.15
  • Bracelet – $9.87
  • Calendar – $9.11
  • Easel – $3.04
  • Card – $3.42
  • Cocoa – $1.90
  • Goodness Knows bar – $1.52

  1. Seriously I don’t see the value. It’s like a basic box of items in the clearance isle at Michaels.

  2. That mug is so cute.

  3. Just don’t see the value here…$41? And, yet another mug…

  4. Those Goodness Knows bars are delicious, and I’m picky! I’ve lost over 50 pounds since July, and I eat these daily. I’ll eat a section here and there for a sweet, nutty, chocolate treat. Yum! That calendar design is a complete rip off of Rifle paper co. (assuming theirs was the first.) I wonder how that’s allowed. I don’t know the rules, lol.

  5. I don’t see the value here. I think they curate really great mail boxes, but the lifestyle items are not my taste and the prices are almost retail price for things you can’t even choose.

  6. I don’t subscribe to this box, but I do think it has good curation. The value to cost ratio seems to be very proportionate. I like the calendar…traditional and unusual at the same time. Thanks for reviewing!

  7. This review made me realize I get to many boxes. The mug reminds me of one that was in peaches and petals a while ago, the bracelet i have a similar one from the buddhi box and the the calendar i just got a similar one in mommy mail box. Not fond of the calendar, yet am looking forward to calendar in the popsugar box.
