Skin Owl Maqui Berry Beauty Drops PM

SkinOwl Maqui Berry Beauty Drops PM, 2 oz. - Retail Value $85.00

When I first saw the price of this I thought "whoa" which I really shouldn't since I am a woman and I know how much high end and natural beauty products can go for. I immediately noticed the sweet fruity bubblegum scent of this serum when I opened it and I enjoyed it very much.

Skin Owl Maqui Berry Beauty Drops PM with dropper

It comes, like most serums, in a bottle with an eye dropper for application. Now, I've been receiving a lot of facial serums lately (mostly actually from Pearlesque Box) which is a little annoying, but it also has helped me make the switch from a cream moisturizer to a serum. This one feels slightly different than the others I've been using and I think that it's because it's slightly thinner and thus feels a little less oily than others (if that makes sense).

Skin Owl Maqui Berry Beauty Drops PM ingredients

I hadn't heard of maqui berry until now, and doing a little reading online has told me that it's supposed to be the newest antioxidant superfruit. The maqui berry is native to parts of Chile and Argentina and is mostly harvested from the wild or small home gardens, which is my guess as to why this is a pricier serum.

Skin Owl Maqui Berry Beauty Drops PM description and directions

As the bottle and info card says, this serum will help with dark spots, and help reduce signs of fatigue and invigorate a lackluster complexion. I never get enough sleep and especially now in the dry winter, my skin can certainly use all the help it can get. This is to be applied at night so it can soak in as you sleep. I've only been able to use it for about a week now and although I'm not sure I've seen obvious results, I do love the way it smells and feels on my skin.

Skin Owl Eye+ Travel Size

SkinOwl Eye+, .5 oz. (travel size) - Listed Value $28.00

Although this .5 ounce size is only available in their travel kit, the info card gave it a retail value of $28. I unscrewed the cap of this to reveal a lovely cucumber smell from this thick yet lightweight eye cream. I'm so glad that Pearlesque + Skin Owl decided to include a product like this since I haven't gotten too many products specifically for that area, which I desperately need.

Skin Owl Eye+ Travel Size, open

The cream boasts to "combat fatigued, tired, run-down skin" and suggests using it around the eye area, as well as on forehead and cheeks. You can use this anywhere, but I have been choosing to smooth it around my eyes at night, as well as my forehead and neck (where I have the most deep-wrinkles). This can also be used in the morning as well and is fine to wear under your makeup routine. It had an instant cooling effect and as it dried, I felt a slight tightening of my skin that wasn't unpleasant at all. Pearlesque also suggest popping it in the fridge for extra de-puffing. I look forward to seeing long-term results from this eye cream.

Verdict: Pearlesque Box kept it simple with two products this month from Los Angeles-based SkinOwl. Even though I was slightly bummed to see yet another facial serum (as I got two last month and another the month before that), I was impressed with the full size and retail value of the maqui berry beauty drops. I'm probably more excited about the Eye+ and really feel pampered when putting it on. For $39.95, I received two products that have a total retail value of $113. Whoa!

Call it whatever you want, but that Skin Owl serum/moisturizer is my new holy grail skincare item. I have really sensitive, acne-prone skin and after using this for a few weeks my skin is hydrated and clear and smooth. I have tried a lot of topical skincare items and this stuff is incredible.

Serum no matter how thick and good is, should not replace moisturizer. Daily skin care routine should include both. Cleanser, toner, serum, eye cream, moisturizer( in AM with SPF) and neck cream. That would be minimum am/pm. Exfoliators and masks should be incorporated weekly.

I use pure oils as moisturizer. I wonder if I need cream on top of that….

WOW! To me thats product and chemical overload. Even on the organic stuff. Everyones skin is different though.

My skin is sensitive and reacts awful to most creams because creams have more ingredients. I use a simple witch hazel toner, and a basic oil such as coconut or jojoba oil. I also dont mind a mix of a few oils.

Even though so many skin care products come in plastics, I prefer glass since many plastics are still not BPA free.

I think the word “serum” was used by mistake, because this product is actually a face oil, and as the instructions state, is supposed to be used in place of a moisturizer, which comes after a serum (as you stated 🙂 ).

It looks like the oil is labeled as a moisturizer.
