Coalatree Nomad Packable Duffel – Retail Value $24.99 (found here for $18.99)
First up this month we have this packable duffel from Coalatree. The bag expands to hold up to 22l of gear. That’s plenty of space for gym clothes and shoes, maybe a few changes of clothes for a weekend away, or even just a useful way to store camping gear at home. Normally I prefer a bag with a shoulder strap or just a backpack, but this bag is small enough to be an easy hand carry even when packed pretty full. The branding is super minimal, which I prefer, and the reinforced nylon should easily hold up for a long time.
Seattle Sports FireWater Multi-Bottle – Retail Value $19.95
Up next is this multi-use item from Seattle Sports! The cap of this 700ml bottle is a solar or USB charged LED light that also glows in the dark. You can use it as a standard water bottle or as waterproof storage for valuables - my phone, wallet, keys fit with room to spare. It also has a detachable strap so you can hang this in camp, or off your bag while hiking to charge it up. It takes about 5 hours to charge via USB or 8 hours via solar. On top of all that, it’s easily collapsible since it’s made of soft and squishy rubber. It feels like water bottles are common items in outdoor subs, but this one stands out from the rest.
Green Goo Dry Skin Care Stick – Retail Value $9.95
This final item is an all natural skin care item to help combat dry, cracked skin. This is a common issue when spending time outdoors in the winter. The stick is made from natural oils and herbs and contains no petroleum or parabens, and it smells great. It’s a larger stick at .6oz, so you have plenty of product to use multiple times on your hands and face. I’ve never had a problem with dry skin so I don’t know how much I’ll use this, if at all, so I’ll probably end up gifting this to one of my camping friends.
Verdict: Nomadik was alright this month. I don’t know how much use I’ll get out of the duffel or skincare item, but I know I’ll be using the bottle regularly. They promise “up to $50 worth” of items in each box, and this month’s value comes out to about $55. At the $32.95 asking price, I think the value is there item-wise, but this month was not necessarily a hit for me personally.
