Nadine West Plus Subscription Review + Coupon – January 2018
Nadine West is a subscription styling service for women sizes small to 3X. Subscribers fill out a style quiz and are sent an outfit every month based on their style preferences. The best part is that there’s no styling fee—just a small shipping fee that is credited toward the cost of anything you keep.
This package was sent to us at no cost to review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
About Nadine West
The Subscription Box: Nadine West
The Cost: $9.78 is charged to your account when your package ships (to cover shipping) and that amount is put towards the cost of the items you keep. If you return everything, however, that amount is not refunded.
COUPON: Use referral code NADINE to waive shipping fees on your first box! That means you can get your first box totally risk-free, with no styling fee and no shipping fee (normally $9.78). You’ll pay only for items you decide to keep!
IMPORTANT NOTE: A couple of months ago, several readers expressed concern over the shipping charge of $9.78. Please note that this is a recent increase! However, existing subscribers keep their previous rate, which I think was $6.50.
The Products: Each pink package will include 2-4 items. Typical combos include a shirt or scarf and a couple pieces of jewelry and other accessories.
Ships to: U.S.
Nadine West Plus Clothing January 2018 Review
This is the invoice that was sent with my package. The return date is listed on the invoice.
Elephant Watching Necklace – Cost to Keep $29.99
This necklace is a little more expensive than what I usually get from Nadine West, but I have to say, it is just stunning! And so unique! This might be my favorite piece in the package this month. The front of the pendant is a silver metal, and it connects to the back via magnets. The back piece is a magnifying glass! It’s very heavy and just so interesting! I love unique pieces.
Commemorate Earrings – Cost to Keep $8.99
What interesting earrings! These are little black crystals on silver metal. The majority of the crystals are on the reverse piece, so they come up behind the back of the earlobe. Very stylish! I kind of feel like they look like little alien or snake heads, though. I don’t know, these aren’t really my taste. They are pretty cool, though!
Dressed Up Jogger – Cost to Keep $22.99
This is the second month I have received pants from Nadine West that are way too small. They are marked the correct size, but they are literally two to three sizes too small, maybe more. I have heard from other subscribers that this is a common problem with Nadine West. I may email them to see if they have a response, but meantime these pants will have to go back. I am not crazy about the faux leather trim, anyway. It’s a nice idea, and the design isn’t too bad, but the quality of the faux leather seems on the low side. I wouldn’t expect super high quality for this price, but I just wouldn’t wear them, personally.
Barb Top – Cost to Keep $21.49
This top, on the other hand, is super cute! It’s a chiffon blend, but with some stretch, and I love the fun circles pattern! I think it looks pretty good on, too. The price is good, but the quality seems better than what you might expect at this price point. I like it!
Mock Me? Dress – Cost to Keep $29.99
This cotton knit dress is really cute, and it’s a great basic layering piece for winter! It’s kind of lightweight, but I think that’s okay as I would definitely pair it with a cardigan, leggings, and possibly other layers as the temperature demands. I like the color, too. Unfortunately, this is a good example of why I am always saying that I need an open neckline. Mock turtlenecks are just not flattering on me at all.
The Verdict: I love Nadine West! This month was a mixture of hits and misses, which is pretty typical of any styling service. I really like the top and the necklace a lot! I think if you want to treat yourself to a styling service on a budget, Nadine West is the way to go! Their pieces are not always the highest quality, but they are consistently the least expensive.
