Facetory SEVEN LUX January 2018 Review
This month’s box is a collaboration with Sam from @saaammage, a beauty vlogger! She is a self-proclaimed “sheet mask queen” and worked with Facetory to select each of the masks featured this month.
As always, there is a monthly information card that outlines each mask from the box! There is a little description so you know exactly how to use each mask. I have always found this to be super helpful!
MD’s Pick I Don’t Know Yesterday Brightening Mask – Listed Value $4.00
This mask smelled like pink lemonade, so yummy! It is a jelly mask that focuses on locking in moisture and brightening your skin. Flower extract and Glutathione are ingredients that will make your skin more radiant and shiny while also providing antioxidants to help with aging. I used this mask in the morning since it provides brightening and I am so glad I did! My makeup went on so well and my skin looked radiant. The jelly left a lot of serum on my skin which was that extra hydration that I really need this time of the year.
Entia No Filter Brightening Camera Mask – Listed Value $4.50
I must say, I am always impressed when a mask comes with vitamin c because that is such an expensive product to get! What blows me away about this one though is that the vitamin c is the first step in this multi-step mask! You will notice a little container at the top of the mask, that is a vitamin c powder that will turn into a liquid as you rub it into your damp skin. It went on so well and I noticed my skin brightening right away. After applying the vitamin c, I wore the mask for 20 minutes, rubbed in the leftover serum, and went straight to bed. I woke up with the most baby soft skin I have felt in a while! My skin is naturally very dry, but this winter has really taken its toll on my skin so this mask was so necessary. It smoothed and brightened in all the right places leaving me looking super hydrated and refreshed.
When Simply When, Cosmic Calm Mask – Retail Value $4.00, Listed Value $4.50
There is a note for this mask on the monthly information card that this is great for oily skin types, which I am not. There are oil-fighting ingredients in it plus calendula flower and tea tree oil to help purify and smooth your skin. The card also notes that this is an eco-friendly sheet mask that absorbs and retains 12 times beyond its weight for fluid absorption and retention. Very interesting! I decided to share this mask with my husband since it noted that this is better for oily skin, I was worried it might dry me out even more. My husband is very oily and found this mask to leave him with a clean and refreshed feeling. He said that above all the cooling sensation it gave to his skin and the fresh scent was the best part of this mask, super calming!
NOHJ Modeling Mask Serum Squalane – Retail Value $2.80, Listed Value $4.00
This gold mask will make you feel so fancy when wearing! According to the monthly card, squalane is an antioxidant that helps keep your skin moist and supple. This mask also includes luxurious ingredients like lavender, aloe, and Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water that work to create a lasting shine. The lavender really comes through in the scent of the mask making this not only beautiful but relaxing to wear. I decided to go all out and treat myself to a bubble bath when I used this mask, it was pure relaxation. I was left with some redness and slight burning after removing the mask, but I woke to super smooth skin that looked extremely hydrated.
Jeju:en Camellia Wrinkle Care – Extreme Micro Silky Mask – Listed Value $7.00
My Mom always reminds me that it is never too early to focus on wrinkle prevention so I was excited to see this mask that focuses on smoothing wrinkles and adding extra hydration. Filled with Jeju Camellia Japonica Flower extract which is rich in unsaturated fatty acids that help lock in moisture. This mask was extra silky so it took very nicely to my skin and it left a lot of the serum after removing which I just rubbed in for extra wrinkle prevention! I woke up feeling refreshed and saw that my under eyes were fuller, which is where I am starting to see some fine lines. More wrinkle prevention masks for me!
Leaders Juicy Mojito Clearing Mask – Retail Value $3.50, Listed Value $4.00
My skin lately has been screaming for help, dryness, and breakouts galore for me! I was really excited to read that this mask is made with lime peel extract and peppermint leaf which help clear your skin, lighten blemishes, and provide relief to breakouts. I used this mask at night, but the monthly card did note that this is best to be used in the morning before applying your makeup. However, I am glad that I used it at night because I had a lot of burning after removing the mask and some redness. I did notice that some of my older breakouts were less red, but the mask brought out some new breakouts as well which I was happy about because the mask clearly detoxified my skin. The only thing I didn’t love about this mask is that it did not fit on my face very well, I found it slipping in a lot of places, but overall I was very happy to see that the ingredients helped to work through my breakouts and irritation.
MVP Lab Magic Bubble Mask – Listed Value $5.00
This was probably the coolest mask I have ever tried! This mask is made with swiftlet nest extract, an ingredient consumed by royal families in China to maintain their youth, which helps revitalize dull skin. The most important part of this mask though is the bubbling effect it provides that will leave your skin feeling super clean! The monthly card notes that this mask should only be worn for 3 to 5 minutes. The second I put this mask on it started to bubble, which made my face tingle with each fizz and pop of the bubbles. Such a cool feeling! Once I removed the mask, I rinsed the ingredients off, put my nightly moisturizer on, and went straight to bed. I did notice a tingly feeling even after removing the mask which just told me it was really cleansing my skin! I woke up in the morning with this incredible brightness to my skin and an overall clean feeling. My makeup went on so smooth that morning! I wish I could find this to purchase online because I would love to use one of these every week.
Verdict: This month’s Facetory really blew me away! Like I said earlier, my skin really has been struggling this month and I felt that each mask was something that focused on problem areas that a lot of people deal with during the cold winter months. I loved each of the masks and I thought the overall curation was outstanding. There was a nice mixture of hydrating masks, skin clearing, and wrinkle prevention that showed me a lot of thought went into this month’s selections, thank you Sam and Facetory, #facetoryxsaaammage! The quality of ingredients in each mask is really where I see the monthly value come in, vitamin c alone is a product that I love seeing and is such a sought-after product.
