I have tried probably 20 different boxes since I become involved in the subscription box world. I have cut all my boxes except Degustabox, although i did take a break from it for about 5 months. The value is always there, but it’s true that not everything in the box is a perfect fit for me. With that said, stuff is always utilized even if it is not something I would normally want. I have found some real gems with this subscription – some which I can find locally and some which I cannot (which is super frustrating). In any case, since I utilize the items i get fairly quickly this box is a total keeper say compared to beauty subs where I may get a new eye pallet, mascara, and blush every month which do not get used very quickly (i literally have 12 mascaras and about 8 black eyeliners hanging out taking up space until I get to them)… So I’m on the pro Degustabox band wagon… One nice thing to note is that even though I took a break for a while I still had all my points when I returned so that was cool…

I love Degustabox! When I went through and cut out unnecessary boxes last fall, this was the ONLY box I was 100% sure I was keeping.

The value for my box this month was over $40 and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten one that was less than what I paid. I enjoy the variety and being able to try new items. I do share the box with my son, so maybe that’s why we like it so much? Between the two of us, we manage to use nearly everything. I personally like the mix of snacks and pantry items.

I received the January box last week and I liked it. I received the free Bauducco Mini Panettone. As much as I loved the idea of this I cannot see spending $20 a month on it. The only thing in my box I was excited for was the Olive Oil only because I go through so much. There were multiple small bags of crackers and popcorn along with other stuff. The value of the box is likely over $20 b/c olive oil is not cheap, but my personal value wasn’t that only because I don’t eat a lot of the stuff I got in my box. Fortunately I have a kid home from college so I will be sending a lot of the items back to school with her. If I could customize my order more I may be willing to pay full price, but I personally can’t see paying more than $10. For example I would never opt in to receive those really thin crackers (of any kind).

The box last month felt a little more cohesive for a meal, and not hyperfocused on snacks, so this may have just been a bad first month for you.

I have 3 little kids so the snack themed box is great. I look at it like getting to try new things is part of the value. When I go food shopping I’m in and out in 20 minutes (out of necessity), I’m not looking at new offerings.

That being said, I imagine my parents who are empty nesters getting this box of food and being like “….ok”

I look at it similarly (except minus the kids). I hate grocery shopping and on top it, I have a busy life and don’t really have a chance to do it….or, more accurately, when I get free time, the last thing I want to do is spend it in a grocery store. LOL. I get most of my core meals thanks to Home Chef and use Degustabox as a chance to get some snacks or staples on top of that. I get to cut down on required grocery trips even more and Degustabox often sends me stuff that I either wouldn’t notice or am not offered in my local stores. So it’s “worth it” to me….

I agree completely!
