Canvas Pouch in Collections by Joya

When this month's box arrived at my doorstep, it felt surprisingly light. I was just as intrigued by a light box as I would've been by a heavy one, and was curious to see what gorgeous jewelry this month would bring. Aside from the included gift wrap that Joya provides monthly, and which I'll show you below, the only thing in the box was this canvas pouch.

Earrings from Collections by Joya

Inside the pouch, two pairs of earrings. The dangly pair came packaged inside two plastic bags, while the studded pair was loose inside the pouch.

Stud Earrings in Collections by Joya

Celebration Stud Earrings - Black Onyx — Retail Value $39.95

These beautiful onyx studs are made from sterling silver and plated with 18K gold. They're a lovely piece with lots of versatility—I could see them being worn for work, weekend, and special occasions alike. I rarely wear studs day-to-day because I often rock over-ear headphones while I work, and they cause post earrings to poke into my head. Kind of a funny reason to avoid a certain style, but alas, your fashion has to work with your lifestyle! Also, this pair is maybe a bit classier than my taste would have me wear. I have a cousin who dons all black all the time and always looks perfectly pulled-together, so I might just have to package this pretty pair up for her!

Teardrop Earrings — Estimated Value $58.95

I was unable to find these rustic teardrop earrings on the Joya website, so I linked to a similar pair. These guys are more my speed! The imperfect detailing within their teardrop shape is exactly the type of natural vibe I seek in my outfits. They didn't come with those clear little stoppers to keep them from falling out of my lobes, so I'll have to borrow some from another pair of earrings when I debut these danglies.

Gift Wrap inside Collections by Joya

Finally, as I referenced above, here's this month's gift packaging. This little squeezebox isn't an uncommon type of packaging for Joya to include, and I always keep a little of the sizzle that served as cushion inside the subscription box to stuff in the gift box. They also gave me a golden strand of raffia ribbon to tie around it—cute!

Verdict: My January Collections by Joya box was simple and to the point. I admit I was initially a little disappointed to find only 2 items in my box after feeling pampered by the abundance of pieces in my December box, but then again, it's always good to go into the new year with an attitude of simplicity after all the gift-giving of the holiday season. Once I adjusted my thinking, I realized I'm perfectly content keeping one piece and gifting one piece from this month's box! Plus, the value is still great. This box costs $49.95, including shipping, and the two pairs of earrings I received add up to an estimated $99.90.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Order by 2/8 to get the February box!

Value Breakdown: At $49.95 for this box, you're paying approximately $24.98 per item. That's an incredible deal!

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who's achieved #1000hoursoutside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.

These reviews on Joya do not provide much info. For instance- Do you have any say over the selection – my ears are not pierced so will I be getting earrings regularly or can I opt out of ear rings altogether? Info like that is vital to selecting a jewelry sub!
