Box of Happies December 2017 Review
If you like jewelry that’s generally delicate and handmade items from Etsy and similar artisans, Box of Happies delivers those things every month. The items are also usually packaged nicely for gifting if something isn’t to your taste:

CCN Designs Clothespin Magnets – Retail Value $4.50
These are covered with a decorative paper and the magnets on the back are neodymium magnets so they’re extra strong (which I could tell before I looked them up and read more about the manufacturing process). These are a nice neutral color that will go well with a lot of décor schemes, though other colors are also available from the CCN Designs shop (linked to in the product name). These are already up on my refrigerator and will be wonderful for holding up appointment reminder cards and things like that.
Box of Happies Earrings – Listed Value $10
These are dainty and would be good for me, personally, not in the lowest earring holes in my earlobes but in one further up (I have four piercings in each earlobe and two in the upper cartilage on each side). I am not sure of the metal the posts are made from, though, so I’d probably coat them with clear nail polish before wearing, just to be sure.
Box of Happies Necklace – Listed Value $15
I am guessing the “stone” is either resin or glass, but it’s pretty either way. I have a fair amount of purple in my wardrobe to coordinate with this and I think it would be good layered or on its own. This is not too long and hangs above the neckline in all but my highest-cut shirts. (I have a very thin neck, for what it’s worth.)

Loofah – Listed Value $2.99
You will often receive a bonus item in Box of Happies if you receive something that goes with it. For example, once we got a Kleenex holder and it came with a travel pack of Kleenex. Or another time, we got a lip balm holder and it came with a lip balm. So it is nice to get a mini loofah with this travel-sized bottle of body wash. (The loofah is also small and would also be great for travel.) The grapefruit scent is lovely (I am partial to citrus in bath products, though) and it lathers well.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $34.63 for the December 2017 Box of Happies. That’s a little above the month-to-month cost for the box. (Please note that almost every Etsy shop charges shipping, too, so you are getting to sample items from a few Etsy makers without that separate shipping fee.) I liked getting the shower gel and loofah together, the jewelry was definitely to my taste, and the clothespins are useful, but don’t forget that you can always keep Box of Happies items on hand to use as gifts, as well.

Can you still get this box if you subscribe today? No, your first box would be January’s. Sometimes past boxes or past box items go on sale in their shop, though.
