WODBOM stands for “Workout of the Day–Box of the Month” and is a subscription box designed for CrossFit enthusiasts, by CrossFit enthusiasts. (Although, I don’t think you absolutely have to be into CrossFit to get something out of this box, as long as you are interested in working out!)

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Included was an information card describing the products in the box.

promotional cards about healthy cookies

There were also some coupons this month.

topbit snack and box

Topbit Foods Mixed Berry Sticks, 12 packets - Retail Value $27.00

You could have received either the savory or the mixed berry flavor of this product, which is a protein food topper. I am rather grateful to have received mixed berry, because I can put that on my oatmeal, which is what I did. I’m thinking this would’ve been better on plain oatmeal than maple spice oatmeal, but I have quite a few more packets to try so I can mix it up a bit and find out what works best. (This product is vegan but that will not always be the case with this subscription.)

nutrition cookie in package

Munk Pack Protein Cookie in Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip – Listed Value $2.25 (Buy 6 cookies for $16.79)

These have been making the rounds of the food and fitness subscription boxes, but somehow I have managed to get different flavors each time. These are also vegan. And they have 360 calories each! But they have a soft, non-crumbly texture, and all of the ones I have had–including this one–are delicious. (They are free of sugar alcohols if those tend to cause a bad reaction for you, but they do have 7g of added sugars per serving, so 14g per cookie.)

wodbom socks

Fuel Clothing WODBOM Knee Socks - Estimated Value $15.00

I don’t often work out in knee socks, but these have been great for lounging around the house. It has been pretty cold here (by my standards) these past few days and these socks are pretty comfortable and fit nicely over my feet (size 7) and calves (which are not very big, admittedly). This is a custom design, but their other knee socks are all going for $15.00.

speckled soap and package

Wodbodsuds Snapback Soap - Retail Value $8.00

Oh, this soap. When I received this box, there was a strong smell that reminded me of cleaning solution. I actually asked my husband if he was using Lysol or something. (He wasn’t.) Then I was afraid something had spilled in the box because of the smell. (It hadn’t.) This soap just smells that strongly. Unfortunately, as the soap sat on the table for another day, the smell started giving me a headache. I did try it out to wash my hands with and it lathers well and makes me feel clean, but I think the scent is just not for me. (This is scented with peppermint, rosemary, and eucalyptus essential oils and the dark bits are peppermint leaves.)

red shirt with the letters J and H on it

Jekyllhyde Apparel Old English Long Sleeve Shirt - Listed Value $28.00

I am not allowed to exercise right now (waiting for the all clear from my doctor after a surgery in late October), but this is also pretty comfortable for lounging around the house, and it will be great as I start to get back into working out since my basement workout room is super cold. (This item isn’t available on the Jekyllhyde site, so I am using the value from the information card.)

The Verdict:  I calculated a value of $80.25 for the December WODBOM. That is a really good value for this box and is more than $30 over the cost of the box plus shipping. Although I wasn’t a big fan of the soap scent, overall the box was useful for me, and it’s always a good month when I can have all the snacks.  I also don’t think you absolutely have to be into CrossFit to get something out of this box–usually, the items are suitable for people following a variety of fitness regimens.
