Sweet Sparkle “Cosmic Crush” November 2017 Review

Each month, an info card is included with an intro to the theme and the product names, descriptions, and retail values. This month’s theme is Cosmic Crush.

two eyeliners marker-tip eyeliner pen double ended eyeliner pen eyeliner corrector pen end

Sormé Cosmetics Precision Duo Liquid Eyeliner & Corrector Pen, Black – Listed Value $19.00

This dual-ended liquid liner has both a black felt tip liquid liner end and a felt-tipped clear corrector end. The felt tips are super precise and make it easy to get a sharp point. The liquid is opaque with one layer and resists smudging throughout the day.

silver packaging for eyeshadow box eyeshadow dust in small pot

LA Splash Diamond Dust Mineral Shadow, Stellar – Retail Value $14.00

This little orb of diamond dust really packs a punch of shimmer and color. It is a pretty rose gold tone that I can imagine would be flattering on every skin tone. This shadow can be blended out to be a subtle shimmer or packed on to be a high-metallic foil finish. My gripe is that the shape and size of the container make it a little hard to hold, and dropping it would be like a glitter bomb.

lipgloss in a rosy color applicator of a rosy lipgloss

J. Cat Beauty Diamond Lust Lip Gloss, Raisin Shine – Retail Value $3.99

I’m impressed with this gloss for the retail value! This shade is a metallic pink gloss that leaves a shiny, sheer finish. It really accentuates my natural lip color and is very hydrating. It leaves no sticky finish and stays put for a good amount of time. It has a candy scent too. Again, so impressed for under $4.00.

pale pink blush in a black package next to a black box open pale pink blush

Be A Bombshell Blush, Glowing Goddess – Retail Value $6.00

This is a silky-powder blush with a good coverage and staying power. Glowing Goddess is a “deep peach” shade. You can see on the swatch below that this shade looks a little light on my wrist, but it actually went on to give me the perfect flush on my cheeks. I like the velvety finish and will be perfect for winter.

mascara and its pink box mascara wand brush gem on the end of a mascara tube

Makeup Love Love That! Lash Mascara, True Black – Retail Value $15.00

First, is this not the best mascara tube ever?! The quilted detail, metallic lid, and rhinestone top is impressive for a mid-price range. The brush is huge and soft bristled. I got great results with one coat (see below) in terms of lengthening and curl. It has a wispy effect with no clumping or flaking. My lashes feel soft while wearing and no lashes get tugged out when I remove it.

All of the items swatched from top to bottom: eyeliner, Diamond Dust, lip gloss, blush.

This might be my favorite look from Sweet Sparkle yet! I like the subtle tones and shimmery shades. The eyeshadow could certainly be played up for a more dramatic effect, but this is perfect for me for daytime. I had a bit of difficulty getting my liner even (as usual) and the corrector side of the eyeliner pen was actually really helpful.

The Verdict: Sweet Sparkle’s “Cosmic Crush” box has a value of $57.99 plus free shipping. That isn’t super impressive for a cost of $24.50 + free shipping, but this has been my favorite box so far. All of the items, as always, are full-sized and coordinated to create an entire look. I will use everything included and my favorite items are the lip gloss and mascara. I actually enjoyed these products together as a look too. I hope next month has a higher value and continues to introduce subscribers to new brands and makeup looks.

  1. I am moving out of the country so the free international shipping is sooo appealing to me! My hesitation is, I am not a drugstore makeup wearer and this seems to include quite a few drugstore products despite it costing more than Boxycharm…

  2. I’ve had my eye on this box for awhile now and I might just have to pull the trigger! I’ve been on the hunt for a new subscription and I think I’ll give this one a go!

  3. I don’t subscribe to this box (yet!) but I always love your reviews, and I like that you show us how you make a cohesive look out of every box. Thank you!

  4. Thank you for reviewing this! I appreciate your input. I’ve had this on my wishlist and cannot decide. Love your reviews!
