Sew Sampler November 2017

This is the first thing you see when you open the box! This month's theme was Fall in Love.

Sew Sampler November 2017

The inside of the insert mentions that there will be a quilt-along starting in January.

They also included a card describing the items, a sticker and a special discount for members only.

Autumn Stars Quilt Pattern – Retail Value $9.98

This pattern is exclusive to Sew Sampler. It works for both large and small quilts. I don't always like the patterns included in subscription boxes, but I'm setting this one aside in my 'make this someday' folder.

Basket Block #8 Recipe Card by Lori Holt – Retail Value $1.48

Each Sew Sampler box includes a basket block pattern. I know they are different every month, but I'm not sure I can tell them apart.

Moda Fabrics Farmers Daughter Fat Quarter Bundle – Retail Value $16.98

This exclusive bundle includes six fat quarters. When September's Farmer's Market theme was announced, people on Instagram were posting that they hoped this fabric collection would be in that box. It wasn't, but I'm glad Sew Sampler listened and included it in this one!

John James Pebble Quilting Needles – Retail Value $9.55 (found on sale here for $8.98)

This set includes 16 quilting needles. I can always use hand sewing needles, but these do seem a bit expensive for what you get. I love the little pebble container though – it will keep the needles away from my cats.

1Canoe2 Holiday Greeting Card – Retail Value $4.50 (found on sale here for $4.48)

1Canoe2 is a designer for Moda Fabrics, which is often featured in this box. The inside is blank. I was a little surprised to see a greeting card in a sewing box, but cards are always welcome this time of year.

Cut to the Good Stuff Rotary Cutter Case – Retail Value $8.98

I'm sure it's no accident that Sew Sampler always sends at least one useful item advertising their shop. Here's something I never knew I needed until I saw it! It fit my rotary cutter well and the pocket could be used to hold a package of blades. (The rotary cutter wasn't included; I'm just showing mine to show how the case fits.)

Moda Brights Make Your Mark Clothespin Set – Retail Value $5.99 (found on sale here for $5.38)

These little clothespins are adorable! They seem well made – the parts don't slide around and they have a good grip.

Sew Sampler November 2017

This time I decided to make a little drawstring pouch using two of the fabric pieces and the ribbon tie that came with the fabric. I might switch it out for another ribbon, but I think it turned out cute.

Verdict: I estimate a retail value over $57, which is about $28 over the cost of the box with shipping. I like everything they sent and will use nearly all of it. My favorite items this month are the fabric bundle and the rotary cutter case. This box always has a nice mix of items. If there's a sewer on your holiday list, this would make a perfect gift!

I would have loved to purchase this box. Too bad they don’t release spoilers ahead of time. Thanks for including links to the products, it really helps!

If you follow them on Instagram, they do reveal a theme spoiler and one item teaser hint in advance, but people in the comments usually figure out the item from the hint. Nothing about the December box so far though!
