Orglamix is a vegan and cruelty-free beauty subscription containing loose shadows, glitter pigments, aromatherapy roll-ons, and more. Many of the items in the subscription will be unique to the subscription and not available in the Orglamix shop (although they will have the same great formula).

Orglamix November 2017 Inside box

They are now doing custom box prints every month and they’re quite pretty.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Orglamix November 2017 “Hygge” Box Review

This month’s theme is “Hygge,” which is explained in more detail on the front cover of the booklet that’s included. I’ll admit, I didn’t know how this concept would apply to a beauty box, but I think Orglamix did a great job here. Let’s take a look:

The box came with an information card detailing the items and theme for November.

Orglamix Coffee Aromatic Candle

Orglamix Coffee Aromatic Candle – Listed Value $12

This candle has a cotton wick and is made from soy wax, and I think the coffee beans are a cute touch. The only thing is, the smell of coffee nauseates me, so I’ll be passing this along to someone else because this DEFINITELY smells like coffee. (That being said, I would love getting other candles in future months.)

“Tidings” Lip + Cheek Gelee

“Tidings” Lip + Cheek Gelee – Listed Value $15

This color is exclusive to the subscription box. (Other colors of this product go for $18 in the Orglamix shop.) This is more of a cheek color for me as you can start out pretty light (I’m pale) and build it up, but it is a little subtle on the lips for my taste (your mileage may vary).

Turmeric Face Scrub

Turmeric Face Scrub – Retail Value $29 (found here for $21)

Though the packaging is a little different, I think this is the same product linked to in the product name (also the listed information card value is the same). This is shown as a mask on the product page but I used it like a scrub (hey, it’s quicker). I found this to be pretty gentle. And it smells AMAZING – lemony, not like turmeric. But I like to think the turmeric is helping to fight inflammation and maybe after a week or two of use, I will start to see some results.

“Comfort and Joy” Natural Eyeshadow

“Comfort and Joy” Natural Eyeshadow – Listed Value $12.50

This eyeshadow is an exclusive shade for the subscription box and I really like it. I have been more into reds and bold pinks lately. A little of this goes a long way and a good primer really helps keep it in place. It blends nicely and doesn’t irritate my eyes.

Warm and Cozy pattern Socks

Warm and Cozy Socks – Listed Value $9

This is an unusual inclusion for Orglamix but I kind of like it. I have been at home recovering from surgery for the past six weeks and I have been wearing thick winter socks all the time, so here is another pair to add into my rotation. These fit me pretty well (I am a women’s size 7) and they are comfortable. Can’t ask for more!

3 silver wrapped Hershey’s Kisses

There were also a few bonus Hershey’s Kisses. I ate these pretty quickly after opening the box.

swatches of eyeshadow on the wrist

Here are swatches of the eyeshadow and lip/cheek gelee. I think these colors go together pretty well!

Verdict: I calculated a value of $77.50 ($69.50 with the sale price) for the November Orglamix subscription box. Most of these products were not in their shop, but the prices from the information card are consistent with similar items in the shop, when available. This was definitely a warm and cozy box, in keeping with the “Hygge” theme. I am a particular fan of the scrub. It really smells wonderful to me. But I like the other items quite a bit, as well.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today?  No, this was November’s box and they typically ship around the 10th, so you’d get January’s box as your first one.

Value Breakdown: At $29 per box, here’s approximately what you are paying per item:

  • Orglamix Coffee Aromatic Candle: $4.49
  • “Tidings” Lip + Cheek Gelee: $5.61
  • Turmeric Face Scrub: $10.85
  • “Comfort and Joy” Natural Eyeshadow: $4.68
  • Warm and Cozy Socks: $3.37

I am always happy to get this box and I love the packaging. This box was sent out quite late; I don’t know if you noticed but there is a $10 gift code to make up for it on the back of the info card.

I was wondering if it was late for me (like mine got lost and re-sent) or if it was late for subscribers, too. Thanks for clearing that up. (I guess I missed the fine print on the back of the booklet…)

Mine was also very late – I just got it last week. And they said I was supposed to receive my December shipping confirmation yesterday, but still nothing.

As a new subscriber it’s frustrating to have already been charged for three boxes but have just barely received one… I’m hoping this is an anomoly because I like the idea of the box, and unsubbed from goodbeing for it. But if this continues through January I’ll be unsubscribing for sure.

Note – not trying to complain here! But this is not one of the crazy popular boxes, so there are usually very few comments. I would have wanted to know this before I subscribed if it was regular… And maybe people considering it should wait a couple of months to see if orglamix can straighten themselves out.

Linda

Have to keep an eye on this box!
