Each box comes with a card detailing the month’s products and brands. The theme this month was “Merriment” and the box was curated by blogger, Shanis Walter.

Lulu’s Jewels Garden Flowers Calendar

Lulu’s Jewels Garden Flowers Calendar – Retail Value $32.95

This 12 month calendar features individual cards for each month. They each feature a different beautiful flower. The cards are 5×7 inches and while they don’t come with a  stand or easel, Mommy Mailbox was thoughtful enough to provide one in the box (below) so that you can stand up the card and display in on your desk or counter.

Recycled Wood Card Holder

Recycled Wood Card Holder

Recycled Wood Card Holder – Retail Value $1.95

This small piece of wood will hold a holiday card, business card or is perfect for displaying the included flower calendar. It’s made from recycled wood and has a little notch cut into it to hold the item you wish to display.

Canvas Navy Tassel Hoop Earrings

Canvas Navy Tassel Hoop Earrings modeled

Canvas Navy Tassel Hoop Earrings – Retail Value $14.00

These delicate hoops have navy colored threads which dangle. I’m kind of over the tassel trend by now personally so these aren’t too exciting for me.

Ofra Universal Eyebrow Pencil

Ofra Universal Eyebrow Pencil – Retail Value $13.00

This pencil by Ofra is called “universal” and is meant to work for most hair colors and skin tones according to their website. I’m so fair and blond that I don’t even use eyebrow pencils because it looks so silly on me. I may try this as an eyeliner instead.

Here is a swatch on my wrist. As you can see this is a medium brown color and this swatch was done with multiple swipes so you could build it up to a darker color as well.

I Sleigh Mug – Estimated Value $8.00

This adorable mug is a Mommy Mailbox exclusive. I like the “I Sleigh” version playing off the popular “slay” term, but with a reindeer/holiday twist.

Ghirardelli Hot Cocoa Mix

Ghirardelli Hot Cocoa Mix – Buy a box of 15 envelopes for $5.69

What could be more perfect to pack with a mug, but a serving of hot cocoa mix? This cocoa mix was absolutely divine. I loved how rich it was – a real special treat for a bitter cold day.

Melville Candy Chocolate Peppermint Spoon

Melville Candy Chocolate Peppermint Spoon

Melville Candy Chocolate Peppermint Spoon – Buy 24 for $49.99

This chocolate dipped spoon with crushed peppermint candies and mini marshmallows is a fun treat to add with the cocoa and mug. It was delicious stirred into the cocoa and gave a nice minty taste without being overpowering.

Verdict: I thought the “Merriment” theme was nice for December. I thought they did a good job of making the box seem festive without making it a Christmas themed box which not everyone celebrates. The value this month was approximately above $70 which is well above the cost of the box ($33.95 a month and free shipping).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the January box. From Mommy Mailbox:

Your monthly box will ship the first week of every month and will arrive in 3-5 business days.

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $33.95, including free shipping, which means that each of the 7 items in the box has an average cost of $4.85.

  1. I’ve loved previous boxes, but this one was just ok for me – The curation and items were sort of lackluster compared to their usual contents. I gifted the items that I wasn’t thrilled with, so at least others will enjoy the things not my style. They were quality items, but this month I felt the RV’s were a bit inflated.

This sub usually don’t disappoint, so if you’ve just started subbing with them, give them another chance :).

  2. I’m happy I didnt get this box this time. I quite enjoy this sub but this specific box is boring.

  3. I got the wood card holder too and think it’s so cute! Such a pretty calendar! And I got a really pretty turquoise color tassel earrings. I loved this box. Every item was a hit for me. I think the price must be a typo. The normal price is 33.95 a month.

    • Yes, there was a typo at the end of the review. We fixed it. Thanks!

  4. I got a super chintzy flimsy plastic easel stand with my calendar, not the cute (if oddly rustic for the calendar style) wood block.

I’d also value the mug at maybe $2? It feels like a promotional or dollar store item. Even quite nice mugs from michaels or target are under $8, that feels very high for this one!

    • I also got the crappy plastic stand for the calendar. This was my first box from this sub, and will be the last. Overly inflated RVs, and nothing was my style.

      • They don’t list retail values.

    • I mean, it’s supposed to be a fun coffee mug not a high end one. The value may not be there but I’ve had a ton of people in my office ask me where I got it! I love it. It’s just awesome. But I’m a huge Beyoncé fan so I’m probably a little biased.

  5. Glad I’m only paying $25.47/month. $40 is way too much for this box! My calendar cards had a card holder in their box so the little log was not in my box. I gave them to my mother-in-law for Christmas. Also, my earrings are red. They were nearly impossible to get off the card and the closure needed adjusting before I could were them. I like that the tassel comes off for when I just want a pair of gold hoops.

  6. Wht did the box cost you $39.95? The regular monthly charge is $33.95 with free shipping…

  7. This was my first box and I really liked it! I loved the earrings, they’re not my usual style at all.
