MDM Flow Lipstick in Bossy – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $18.45

I love the packaging and the formula of these MDM Flow lipsticks, but this particular shade isn’t for me.

The pigment is good, and the finish is a non-drying matte (all good things), but the color totally drains me. Here it is swatched:

Bubble T X Look Fantastic Bath Bomb – Retail Value $6.55

I’m always happy to see a bath bomb in a subscription box and this Blueberry Tea version is lovely – the scent is light and sweet!

Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser – 7.5 ml Value $2.74

This is one of the first beauty products I fell in love with from a subscription box! It’s a tiny sample, so you’ll probably only get one or two uses out of it, but then you’ll probably want to go buy the full size! 🙂

The formula is made with lemongrass extract and natural sugar, so it smells SO good, and it’s gentle on your skin.

Polaar The Genuine LapLand Cream – 25 ml Value $10

(Good to know for swapping – this item has an inner foil seal.)

A rich hand cream is always a good addition to a Winter beauty box in my opinion, and this one delivers. It’s fragranced, and the formula has a matte finish once it absorbs – no greasiness!

Hydra-Activ Smart Nutrient Day Cream HA+ – 20 ml Value $15

(Good to know for swapping – this item has an inner foil seal.)

This is a great sized sample (the tube is completely full), and the formula is great, too. It’s very nourishing but still absorbs quickly. I would prefer it to be unscented, but at least the fragrance isn’t strong.

Gatineau Youth Activating Beauty Serum –  5 ml Value $11.47

This serum is designed to “lift features, correct wrinkles and reveal a new, smoother, firmer, intensely radiant skin texture.” That all sounds fine to me! Of course, this sample is too small to see those kinds of results, but so far I like the formula. It’s a lightweight gel/cream that feels very gentle on my skin and absorbs almost immediately.

I love getting this mini mag with the box – it’s a fun extra, and the size is great for throwing in your purse, too.

The Verdict: This month’s box has a value of about $64.21 (not counting the magazine). I think that’s great for a $19 beauty box shipped from overseas! (And you can get the $16 a box annual price without having to pay the full amount up front, too.)

I think this box included a good mix of full size and sample size items, and I love a skincare heavy box in the winter. (I just wish the lipstick would have been in a different shade!)

  1. OMG! They have the WORST customer service EVER!!! I asked when my box would be shipped (asked on December 19th). Today (January 2nd) they finally responded with ‘we have already answered this question and are closing this inquiry.’
    I have received the box, but the site still says it is processing my order.
    When I tried to cancel, they got back to me really quick and refused to cancel. I’m going to my bank and stopping any future payments.
    The box wasn’t the problem – their horrible customer service is. In this day and age, these boxes are a dime a dozen; I don’t need this level of poor communication in my life.

    • There site shows my last box as October. I did receive my November Box. But I have yet to receive December. I am infuriated with the way this has been dealt with. Glossybox is not worth it. And what am I supposed to do with the credits they gave me for my inconvenience? I am so disappointed in this company!

  2. Out of the blue, they sent me this box today! I LOVE it. I’s definitely Wintertime here, and I’m thrilled to have the products, which are luxury brands I will use.

    I’ve been lucky thus far.. They are very responsive to me, and always get things straightened out.
    Sometimes, I have a bit of a problem with their language as it’s British English and not American English, but that’s my issue not theirs. : ).

    I hope everyone has a better experience with LF and GB in 2018. I could be wrong, but I think they are both really trying to send my boxes on time and as ordered. I didn’t even inquire about placing an order for this one until Liz posted this review and it had sold out. They restocked a limited number of boxes, and I’m happy to have mine.

    • I am so disappointed with Glossybox I am canceling my subscription. I spent over three weeks, calling and emailing them bro resolve a mistake they made. Last week was told that they were sorry for my inconvience and they couldn’t believe how long it has taken to resolve this issue and that they would be shipping my December Box right out. Today, I called the box was never sent. They were sorry for the inconvenience….
      Yada yada…
      Well, enough!
      My question, how is GB related to Look Fantastic?

  3. I’m teally disappointed with this company. I subscribed on November 25th using my GB credit and got an email two days later that it had shipped. I kept checking my account and it had a red box saying I needed to add a credit card, which I had already done, so I kept updating it with the same card. Finally last week I got on their chat and asked what was up. The lady said she’d have to cancel my order. Wouldn’t answer my ?s about refunding my credit. Wouldn’t answer my ?s as to why it even happened. Wouldn’t answer my ?s about whether or not I could still get dec if reordered. Just kept saying (at 2-4 min intervals) your order has been cancelled is there anything else I can do for you? Yes! You could answer my questions! I gave up. Sent an email asking about the credit. 6 business days later and still no refund. At this point I’ll use them on something in their store, assuming I get them back. Not cool.

    • Payment issues can be tough with LF. When something goes wrong, they don’t answer you and it can be hard to fix right away. I too have gotten frustrated and given up. Then one day, they spontaneously try again, charge the card, or in your case, apply the points, and ship the box. This happened to me last year during November (cc expired). CS just kept giving me robotic answers and I missed out on November, December, January, and February – or so I thought. In late February, I saw a charge, then another, then another, and I got all my missing boxes one after the other except December (which I assume was sold out). I was happy to have them, although I was surprised.

      My sub was fine until this December, when December 1st was my payday and the UK charges earlier than my direct deposit hits my checking account. I went through it again and they were not much help. But last week I guess they tried again because I got charged and my account says the box was dispatched on December 22.

      My advice to you is to leave the $ in your account, even though you closed out your membership. You might really like the box if/when you receive it, and it’s pretty easy to resubscribe.

      • Thank you for the advice. I had received an email back the other day saying they couldn’t refund it cause the box had shipped, which it didn’t. I tried their chat again (third times a charm?) and was told they’d send it to finance. I gave up today and called. It took about 10 mins but my credit is already back in my account. So anyone that has issues I highly recommend saving yourself a lot of time and calling. I spent three weeks on emails and chats for nothing. Now I’m just unsure of whether or not to try again lol.

  4. I don’t get this box. It has name brand products on their info card, but put lame products in their box. They should put the products we are getting on the magazine so we feel special. lol.

    • I am looking to others for their experiences with lookfantastic and how they handled items not received with no resolution given after a month of inquiries. I ordered the December Box and three other items to use my Glossy dollars. It took threes weeks to receive three products and still, I NEVER RECEIVED A BEAUTY BOX!? I inquired many times and the message system is so primitive that it does not allow you to ask a precise question that they can answer without using a robotic generalized answer that does not help at all. It has been over one month, I have no Beauty Box that I paid for, no clarity on when to expect it, no tracking number, what I should do next, or if there is even a HUMAN there that reads the customer service issues and is empowered to deal with it on the spot. I am equally annoyed with GLOSSY BOX for abandoning their long-term customers, left with a pile of points/money good only at a business that is incapable of READING OR WRITING an email that actually answers any of your questions. I am not new to subscriptions boxes. I started years ago with PopSugar Must Have Boxes, and have many since then. Glossy, you changed the rules mid-game and threw us under the bus with lookfantastic (whom I never heard of until now) and is the most unprofessional and inept service in this business. It’s not like the Dec box was not available when I ordered; I was told it would dispatch within the week. I have serious doubts they can get their act together if something so simple as sending a tracking number, can give them a complete meltdown in service unless they have NO business protocol other than tell you what you want to hear, with no intention of following through. In my business, it’s called fraud.

      Does anyone else have an idea about what to do next that works? We have gone way beyond what is in the box, and into taking your payment and not fulfilling their end of the contract.

        • Thank you, Julie! Does anyone have any explanation why a post that would help explain lookfantastic’s dismal business of charging consumers without sending promised products ordered in a timely manner? That in itself requires answers to extremely questionable business practices.

          • Most likely there is something on her post that is being red flagged for review so it isn’t posting right away until admin reviews.

            As for the customer service, yes they suck. But if you read below this is coming from the U.K. so your box likely shipped but it’s going to take 2-3 weeks to get to you because of the distance and customs. I’ve been with them for almost a year and got my box the day before Christmas. So there is still hope yours will show up this week. Just keep in mind that a monthly box from them is going to come closer to the end of the month if you live on the states.

          If nothing else works my credit card company dealt with them for me and were successful.

      • Hi! I had the same exact problem and after spending a lot of time trying to get the problem fixed I finally got a refund. My advice to you is: write reviews on trust pilot about your experience, ask for a refund in the website chat, in trust pilot and their message center. Hopefully someone will solve this for you (you have to insist a LOT, don’t give up). If this doesnt work contact the uk police (i dont remember their website but search uk police online fraud, it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to submit a report) hope this helps. Btw I had to cancel my credit card, they will take your money again even if the first box wasnt received. Dont believe when they tell you they will sendo a new box or “your box is on its way to you”..just ask for a refund…

      • I have been with look fantastic for over a year. I have never had any problems with CS. I am surprised you haven’t heard back from anyone. There have been 2 times a item leaked and I heard back in 12 hours. They always issued a partial refund instead of a replacement. Make sure you are on the U.S. Website when contacting them. I would keep trying until you hear back. Look fantastic is my favorite sub box and I am sure something must be wrong in them receiving your emails.

        I am infuriated with GlossyBox! I have been dealing with them all month long. At this point it’s not about the money. I wanted my December Box.
        My subscription boxes are my happy treats I give to myself. I look forward to them. So, before my move, well in advance I changed my address with my 4 boxes.
        December 1 comes around and GB debits my checking account. A few days later I notice that there site has not updated my address or my December Box information. This begins my ordeal. I have contacted them over a dozen times. Halfway in I should have cancelled my subscription. But, it wasn’t about the money anymore. I am so upset about how I have been treated. I have been promised that this would be resolved numerous times. I have talked to customer service agents who have said I spoke to my supervisor and she understands your frustration… But this same supervisor will not give me the courtesy to speak with me directly. I want to shout from the rooftops- DON’T PURCHASE GLOSSYBOX!

        • Wow, there are no words, The disrespect and the lack of transparency regarding Glossy selling out to LF with precious little notice of options is an indication of these greedy losers. I actually feel sorry for the staff on the line doing all the work for a company of asshats that don’t care to follow through.

          I swear they choose answers to inquiries by pulling wads of paper with various answers out of a hat. It was November 24 when I used all my Glossy Dots (?) and some extra cash for their December Box and three other items. Two items came in the third week, the third came in the fourth, and still NO BOX. all throughout the month, I was sending emails through their primitive site. Boxes had just come in and were definitely in stock when I made the purchase and it was confirmed to ship in a matter of days. Well it’s closer to MONTHS not days. There was a poster’s suggestion to chat with cust serv online which I will try tomorrow. It was the only way to get their attention.

          I am sorry to hear about your issues too. It looks like Glossy took some of LookFantastic’s anti-customer service classes now that they are part of the same tacky group, lol. I see nothing good to come of any of them. I will give them a week to ship me a box full of lavish hi-end products, and I may consider NOT filling social media with our frustrating experiences. This appalling treatment is so far beyond unacceptable, I feel compelled to warn others. USA has laws protecting consumers if it comes to that. I will never buy, gift or recommend any sub this group offers. Now I’m sad; just like you, my subs are so much fun to come home to 🙂 There is no place for Glossy & LookFant.

          • I am at the point where I do want to bombard social media with my experience. I have every email I have sent plus the comments I made from their site. I only wish I had documented every phone call. I have giving them every opportunity to make this right. I have practically begged. I actually said to them, ” please make me exciting again about my GlossyBox”. They do not care! Enough is Enough! I have been wanting to try BoxyCharm but couldn’t justify two $21 boxes a month. Enough is Enough! I WANT TO SHOUT BEWARE!

      Yes, this company is a nightmare to deal with when it comes to cs.

      I have a year long membership which I regret.
      But, I just received my Dec box and normally I would have gotten it around the 15th. No tracking, nothing it just shows up. I have had the box take an entire month to get to me.
      They won’t do anything until 30 days have passed so hopefully it’s just Xmas chaos at the post office that delayed it.
      After 30 days contact crappy cs and ask for a new box or refund and if they don’t respond call your credit card company and let them deal with it.

      It’s too bad because I’ve found some great products from look fantastic. I love this month’s hand cream.

      • Hi Julie and Margie, and all others who had negative issues to share; I appreciate that you took time to let me know how you too, have been similarly treated with such disregard. Apparently Glossy and LookFant. have no self-respect or empathy for those of us who believed in their higher standards enough to give them our business, let alone our credit cards (to abuse). I wonder if others who have had such negative and costly experiences would like to create a group document (letter) with our comments, lack of service or response, and more importantly, taking our money but not delivering the product in the timeline they claim(or at all!). Let’s not forget the waste of our time spent trying to contact them, then wait for answers that rarely produce results.

        Glossy, with whom I never had prior issues (except for the occasional missing product) must be named as well; some joined and stayed to collect points for the promise of product or free boxes and got abruptly left with a pile of points for a questionable company. Again, this is fraud. One nice long letter, copied to upper management, should bring some attention to their CS problems. Especially no AVAILABLE staff, with lack of training or empowerment, to read, respond and resolve our main issues in ONE call (email). NEGLECT. I am sure they are clueless about the growing public displeasure with the arrogant disregard for civilized service we have paid for.

        Don’t forget our social media. It’s can be pretty powerful when the neglect is so widespread.

  5. Pretty late to the party on Bossy lipstick. Many on swaps that have been there forever. That said I have it and I wear it. Once on it doesn’t make you look like a corpse but then again I love Greige colors anyway.

  6. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST company I have had the unfortunate luck to have dealt with!

    I made an order for the first time with this subscription and they just cancelled it! No explanation! They just closed my account, no kidding!

    And to top it off I contacted their cs to ask them for an explanation AND to give me back the credit that was taken from my account, and all they told me is that one of their agents would get back to me about this. Never heard from them!

    I reopened my account and sent them a msg requesting for my credit be given back to me as they simply cancelled my order and it was never used. They just closed the case without even getting back to me first.

    They just took my credit and kept it like THIEVES!

  8. Good box–but I had the same thought on the lipstick. Along the lines of “Well, that would make me look like a corpse” LOL

    • I thought the same thing, but I figured, what the heck and put it on this morning. I’m really surprised how different it looks on lips. It’s actually kinda pretty. Much different than my usual pink or berry. And if you do want to warm it up a little, a little pink stain/lipstick underneath helps

  9. This is my first look fantastic box and so far I’m pretty impressed with it. The lipstick I received has a broken case but I can glue it, to bad there’s nothing you can do with that awful color though! The band lotion is awesome! Haven’t yet tried the rest but looks great!

  10. I ordered this for the first time and they said that it shipped 2 days later. And I ordered this box on the 4th of December and the shipping day was the 6th! And I have still yet to receive this box! I messaged the cs and they told me that they don’t have a day when I’ll get it or a tracking number?!? This is the first time I’ve ever in my life received a box without this and they said they can’t investigate at all til January 6th! Their cs is so poor this is my last time ordering from them. Anyone else have this issue when they first started their subscription with this company?

    • I ordered my box on November 26th, and I received it yesterday. It was one of the longest times I’ve waited for a box, but then again, I’m still awaiting my Derm beauty box and December Glossy box. I’m thinking it was just CHRISTMAS OVERLOAD on some of these subs.

    • It does take a long time to get this. I have waited as long as a month but it is usually 2-3 weeks. They also do not give tracking. I think it comes from overseas.

    • This sub is in the UK so it’s going to take about 1-2 weeks to get to us over here, at least that’s my experience. I do usually have mine by now but don’t and I’ve been subbed for almost a year now. And they don’t send a tracking number, there may be an option to get one but it’s extra and I makes a year sub to get it for $16 a month so I’m not paying extra for that. I’ve never had any issues with not getting a box. But I’ve ordered other things from them and do have to say their customer service is not good at all. And they recently acquired glossybox and I believe another company but can’t rememeber the name off hand, think I saw it on another post. So I think they might be a little overwhelmed right now.

      • I read a comment yesterday where someone mentioned that LF (maybe they meant LF’s parent company The Hut Group) purchased BeautyCon. Could that be the other company you were thinking of?

    • I am still waiting for my Black Friday bundle of the Advent calendar and a box which I ordered on November 24th. Do NOT recommend ordering from this company! Their customer service is terrible, absolutely terrible!

      • I just got my Black Friday bundle this week and ordered on Nov 24 as well. The advent calendar and the LBB shipped separately, so at first I thought they had forgotten to include the LBB. But it arrived a few days later.

        According to the tracking for the advent calendar it was held up in customs for 2 weeks. I don’t mind that as I know it’s not under their control. But I have had poor customer service with a shop order that’s taken over a month to get resolved.

    • This comes from the UK. There isn’t tracking on the monthly boxes, and tracking on orders is extra. It does take a while to receive things from them because it’s coming from overseas, and I believe that’s why they also can’t investigate it until a month after ordering. It has to go through customs first, and we all know things can get tied up in customs for one reason or another. It’s not something they can do anything about. I’ve had my LF sub since Feb, and I’ve always received a box. Sometimes earlier in the month than others.

    • Yes, terrible cs. I’ve gotten it anywhere from 10 days to 30+ days or not at all.

    • This is inexcusable and has happened to too many people!

  11. I just now did live chat with their CS about this box. It is no longer available, but they said they are preparing a second December box because this one was so popular.

    If anyone missed it, and wants a December Look Fantastic box which should be similar, the lady said, the first box in a monthly subscription would be the 2nd December box.

    Those who received this box will not automatically get a second different December box of course. : ).

  13. This looks great! It makes me wonder why I’m not subscribed to this. I love that it’s strong on skincare. Since they bought Beauty Con, I guess I just keep wondering is something big is coming up?? Any word on that, Liz?
