This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

Julep Maven is a monthly nail polish and beauty subscription box. They make all their own products, so subscribers get a good value each month – over $40 retail worth of product for $24.99 a month.

And, if you sign up for 3-months up front, you get the $19.99 rate.

Each month Julep releases a new collection on the 20th, and you can decide which items you want, you can upgrade to the entire collection, or you can skip that month.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Each box comes with a card detailing the new beauty launches:

And each month they include a little bonus item like a piece of candy, but this month it’s a free nail polish!

Julep Nail Polish in Jane – Retail Value $14

This polish is a “Full-Coverage Rose Gold Multidimensional Glitter.” It’s close to bronze on the scale of Rose Gold shades, and super festive!

Tip: you can pull the caps off of Julep polishes so that you can swatch the sticker on the top!

Now, for the items I picked this month:

Julep Nail Polish in Kayleigh – Retail Value $14

This nail polish is described as a “Holly Berry Iridescent Shimmer,” and it is the perfect red for the holidays.

Swatched in lower photo.

Julep Nail Polish in Addi – Retail Value $14

This shade is a “Lustrous Silver Metallic.” It’s super shimmery and catches the light beautifully.

Here are the nail polish shades on:

One coat full-coverage for all shades!

Julep Matte Lip Mousse in Lip Lock – Retail Value $20

I’ve tried this liquid lipstick before and I love the formula, so I decided to get another shade that’s a bit more “berry” than my typical color.

The formula is highly pigmented, with a matte finish, and the staying power is great. Plus, I love how it doesn’t dry out my lips!

Here it is swatched:

Verdict: I’m happy with all my choices this month! I normally stick to neutrals when I pick out nail polish, but for December I thought a bright red and silver were perfect for the holidays! And I knew the liquid lipstick would be a win, too! This box has a retail value of $62, and I think that’s a great deal for a $24.99 box you can completely customize.

I highly recommend this subscription if you love nail polish and/or you like having control over your beauty box items! (And I also recommend doing the 3-month subscription at $19.99 a month for better savings!)

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. You have to sign up by the 20th to get the next month’s box. Then on the 24th, you’ll be able to sign into your Julep Maven account and select the items you want for your box!

Coupon: Use this link and coupon code POLISHGIFT at checkout to get a FREE 12 piece nail polish set when you sign up for a subscription!

Value Breakdown: At $24.99 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Nail Polish: $5.64
  • Nail Polish: $5.64
  • Nail Polish: $5.64
  • Liquid Lip: $8.06

  1. The lip mousse is excellent. I got 1 nail and 3 of those I think. I am wrapping all my sub boxes unopened and will open them on Christmas morning. I am alone and so that’s my Christmas this year. Not looking at any spoilers.

  2. I wish cosmetics didn’t have expiration on them, I would be so happy! Even though I don’t use them all the time, don’t you just love to look at the nice packaging and just admire them or is it just me? what is it about cosmetics that makes us happy??

  3. I could not decide whether to buy any polish when they were $5 a bottle so guess now I will have to subscribe to get the colors I want.

  4. I got my December box today. I got all the polishes even though I haven’t painted my nails for months. I think I have a problem…

    • I understand Ragan. I ordered 16 new lippies between Black Friday & Cyber Monday… the addiction is real.

  5. Nice! I haven’t received my box yet, it mine will have the red Kayleigh also so I can’t wait to try it!
