Akibento “Revival” Box November 2017 Review

This month’s box features characters from Fullmetal Alchemist, Re:Zero, and more! Let’s check it out:

This month’s theme is “Revival”. The inside of this info card has a visual list of all the items.

Akibento Monthly Pin – Retail Value $1.00?

Every Akibento box comes with a little pin to suit the theme.

Exclusive Akibento Revival T-Shirt – Estimated Value $25.00?

I couldn’t find this shirt on the Akibento online shop, but most of their tees range between $25.00-$30.00. This one features a version of Rem from Re:Zero passing through some a portal.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Air Freshener – Retail Value $6.99

I’m not a big air freshener person, but I do like me some FMA! This little hang-able disc is just under 3 inches wide and smells a  like sweet, strawberry candy. Its stretchy elastic band can easily loop around your rear-view mirror, or in desperate times, you could even pop this in a bag with stinky gym clothes or shoes!

Bleach Ichigo Sticker – Retail Value $6.99

Oooo this sticker is sick! First of all, Ichigo is just a cool, crowd-pleasing character—I’m happy to get a sticker of him! Second, this sticker is on the bigger side (it’s about 4.5 inches tall) and has a great shiny finish to it. It looks pretty sturdy, too. It’ll look great on the ol’ laptop.

Fullmetal Alchemist Alphonse Bento Box – Estimated Value $8.00?

I couldn’t find this item online, nor on the Akibento site shop, so I just took a guess at the value. I love packing snacks and lunches in bento boxes—it’s so much more fun than your average plastic container or zip-shut bag. This one has two big compartments, a divider you can use to split one of the big compartments even more, chopsticks, lids, and even a band to help keep the bento box nice and secure.

Exclusive Akibento Special Edition Re:Zero Manga – Retail Value $14.99

To match the Re:Zero-themed shirt, there’s a Re:Zero manga! This Akibento edition is in English and features a few full-color pages in the front, too! Very cool.

Akibento x Akidearest Scarf – Retail Value $25.99

Every box includes one tribute to that month’s featured YouTuber. This month’s YouTube star is Akidearest, who has over a million subscribers. (You can see a short interview with Akidearest on the info card!) This scarf is inspired by her. It’s realllllly big and voluminous (it’s about as tall as I am, and I’m 5′ 3″), so that, despite being a sheer, thin weave, it can end up being pretty warm once it’s all wrapped up around you.

The Verdict: This month’s Akibento box was pretty fun. They usually only feature a few shows, rather than a different show with every item, so I’m not surprised that FMA and Re:Zero represented the majority of the box (though I haven’t forgotten about the Ichigo sticker). The air freshener isn’t my fave, but everything else was cool and useful. And personally, I really liked getting a manga!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Sign up by the 19th of this month to get the December box!

Coupon – Save $3 off your first box with code ANIME

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $29.95 (cost + shipping). I estimated that the retail value of the items inside was $88.96. That means that I paid approximately the following for each item:

  • Pin – $0.34
  • T-Shirt – $8.42
  • Air freshener – $2.35
  • Sticker – $2.35
  • Bento box – $2.69
  • Manga – $5.05
  • Scarf – $8.75

What do you think of this month’s Akibento box?
