Vegan Cuts Beauty November 2017 Box

Vegancuts Beauty Box
4.3 overall rating
40 Ratings | 8 Reviews

The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural, too). They also typically include a nice mix of full-size and sample beauty items. Vegan Cuts also offers a monthly Snack Box and quarterly Makeup Box.

Vegan Cuts Beauty November 2017 Organza

Vegan Cuts sends a single package to subscribers who get both the beauty and snack boxes. The beauty items are separated into a little bag. (If you do not get the snack box, I don’t think you get the little bag.)

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the Vegan Cuts Beauty, $22.95 a month, box.

Vegan Cuts Beauty November 2017 Eye Cream 1

Everclen Eye Cream (0.5 fl oz) – Retail Value $19.99 (found on sale here for $18.99)

We’ve received Everclen products from Vegan Cuts before and they are always super gentle, so this is a good one to try if you have sensitive skin. It was moisturizing and did not irritate the area under my eyes (though it will take a few more uses to see if that stays true over time). This is very thick and non-runny, so it stays in place. Please note that several online sources indicated this was discontinued, though I did find it for sale in at least one non-Amazon location (linked to above).

Here is what the eye cream looks like inside the jar. This is super thick (but honestly, that’s my preference for an eye cream).

Vegan Cuts Beauty November 2017 Eyeliner

100% Pure Creamy Long Last Liner in Dark Cacao (full size) – Retail Value $26

100% Pure products are hit or miss for me, but I always give them a try, because some of them do work very well. I’m happy to report that this is one of the ones that works. First off, it is not black, which is nice for a change (I rarely wear black eyeliner, I am more of a fan of like electric blue or orange or some other crazy color). But the pencil doesn’t pull on my eyelid skin at all when I apply this, and it lasts a long time. I am a fan.

Vegan Cuts Beauty November 2017 Eyeliner 2

This is a standard pencil-type eyeliner. See a swatch below.

Vegan Cuts Beauty November 2017 Gloss

Glamour Dolls Gloss Snob in “Burn Book” (full size) – Value $2.99

This is bubblegum pink, all right (swatch below). I am 40 years old but I do still wear this type of lip color on occasion (I think I can get away with lots of colors because I have black hair and pale skin, but I admit I may not be the best judge of such things). This was moisturizing and not too sticky, though I did have to reapply fairly often.

Vegan Cuts Beauty November 2017 Mask 1

Alma Botanicals Luminous Glow Clay and Botanical Mask (2 oz) – Retail Value $22

You’ll get a lot of dry powder masks in Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. I happen to like them so I am fine with that! I am pretty sure this brand is new to me. The clay here is kaolin instead of the usual bentonite, but I don’t really notice a difference from that. This also has rosehips and hibiscus (good sources of vitamin C and other antioxidants). You can mix this with your choice of liquid, but my bathroom is so far from my kitchen that I just used water, which worked great. I thought this was nice for controlling oil, and I look forward to seeing long-term effects after a few uses.

Here is the mask inside the jar. I highly recommend a mixing kit like this for getting the mask-to-liquid proportions right.

Vegan Cuts Beauty November 2017 Soap 1

Olivella Face and Body Bar (5.29 oz) – Retail Value $3.50

I am not much for using bar soap on my face, but I do like to switch it up in the shower every now and then, so that’s where I used this. I think because of the olive oil, it didn’t dry out my skin. It was also gentle on my skin (though I avoided the area of my surgical incision out of an abundance of caution since this does have a light fragrance). This is a good one for colder weather!

Here are swatches of the eyeliner and the lip gloss.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $73.48 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. That is a great value for this box. Every item was useful to me and even if you don’t happen to like the gloss color, it’s a very small portion of the box’s overall value. This month was especially good for dry, sensitive winter skin, and I thought it was also nice to see the bulk of the value spread over three main items (instead of just one, as can sometimes happen with this subscription).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? They don't have a standard cut-off date, but ship November boxes until their next month's spoilers launch (typically between the 26th and 29th of each month).

Value Breakdown: At $22.95 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Everclen Eye Cream: $5.93
  • 100% Pure Creamy Long Last Liner in Dark Cacao: $8.12
  • Glamour Dolls Gloss Snob: $0.93
  • Alma Botanicals Luminous Glow Clay and Botanical Mask: $6.87
  • Olivella Face and Body Bar: $1.09
