Trunk Club Men Subscription Box Review – October 2017
Trunk Club is a clothing styling service for both men and women. Subscribers work closely with their stylist to find ideal pieces that are then sent as a trunk to try on and possibly purchase. Trunks can be ordered as often as you like, whether that be once, monthly, or quarterly! Trunk Club goes at your pace!
Trunk Club is a Nordstrom company, and they send similar brands that range in the $75-300 range. In the style profile, you can choose your preferred price range for each category (ie. $50-100, $100-200, or $200+)

My month’s trunk arrived in the Trunk Club trademark suitcase; the details in its design are top notch and unlike other services I’ve used before.
Enclosed are the selections in the form of an invoice from my stylist, Victoria. Also included, is a note with suggestions for styling, a shipping label, and tape to use to reseal my box for returned items.
Now let’s take a look at what’s inside!
Quilted Twill Vest by Nordstrom – Cost to keep: $99
I was instantly drawn to this classic looking vest; the navy color will pair nicely for the Fall/Winter month’s ahead and the quality is top notch. The vest isn’t overly warm or puffy, which is something I look for, but still substantial enough that it helps keep you somewhat warm.
The details on this guy are perfect for me and exactly what I’m looking for and validate the price of $100 in my opinion – This one is a keeper!
Slim Fit Check Flannel by Bonobos – Cost to keep: $98
This plaid is very eye-catching and really makes me think of Fall. The material is thicker, so it’s great to help keep me warm and the color scheme will pair nicely with many different colors. My only issue with this is that the top is a little too slim (hence the name) and just isn’t comfortable enough to keep, especially for the cost of $98.
Birmingham Henley – Cost to keep: $99.50
This top is SO soft and the maroon/black color is so unique! I’m not the biggest fan of henley’s or normally how they fit my body, so I normally stray away from them and this one didn’t change my mind. The quality is very high but so is the price, so this is going back.
Slim Fit Stretch Washed Chinos by Bonobos – Cost to keep: $98
Chinos are my favorite type of non-jean; they’re perfect for both dressing up or down and these don’t disappoint! The color is very versatile, I’m fond of the fit and the quality is top notch. I’d definitely be keeping these but I have something pretty similar in my current wardrobe so I will be sending back.
Fleece Lined Shawl Collar Cardigan by Nordstrom – Cost to keep: $79.50
I’m a huge fan of cardigans and as we head into the colder month’s ahead, I’m on the hunt for some new ones! This guy is extremely soft and I love the fit and color; it will nicely pair with a wide range of colors and be dressed up or down – This one is a keeper, especially at the cost for this great quality!
Ballard Slim Fit Chinos by Nordstrom – Cost to keep: $69.50
I was instantly drawn to this forest green color; it’s pretty unique, perfect for Fall and I own nothing like this in my current wardrobe. The quality is also top notch and the fit is spot on for my body type – These are a winner for me and I can’t wait to wear these for the next few months!
Jamie Chelsea Boot by J Shoes – Cost to keep: $198
I specifically asked my stylist to send Chelsea boots because I’m in the market for a new pair, so I was sent these beautiful light brown suede boots. The quality is very high and they’re extremely comfortable, but the light color just really won’t work with a lot of the colors in my current wardrobe, so I’m going to send back.
Horton Chelsea Boot by 1901 – Cost to keep: $125
The color on these boots are really working for me and will pair nicely with so many different colors in my wardrobe! The quality is extremely high and the boots are so comfortable, I didn’t want to take them off! The cost is a little high for my current budget, so I’m sadly going to send back and look for a less pricey pair on my own.
Verdict: This was my first experience with Trunk Club and I am very impressed! The quality throughout all pieces in this shipment was extremely high, but so were some of the costs, which deterred me from keeping a few of the pieces. I think this service is great for anyone who is looking to expand their current wardrobe and wants to try out different pieces that the wouldn’t normally buy.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Trunk Club curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above!
Value Breakdown: This box cost $25, along with the cost of the pieces you decide to keep – Shiping is free both ways. The total retail value of the items inside my shipment today is $866.50, which is an average of $108.31 per item. The price per piece is listed alongside each product above.
