Honest Diapers & Wipes Review - November 2017
Honest Company Diaper Bundles are always huge since they have enough (or more than enough) for a month! Here's what I got in my October delivery, in the photo above.
If you're not familiar with this subscription, here are the basics: You always get 6 packs of diapers and 4 packs of wipes each month. For the diapers, you can select your favorite patterns, and Honest will randomly pick for you depending on what's available. You can swap in Overnight Diapers or Pull-Up style diapers for any of the 6 packs. You can even change the size on just some of the diapers, and you can also add on extra products for a 25% discount. (Plus, they occasionally have subscriber perks, like free items you can add on!)

This is my first Honest Company bundle. It's also my first time using Honest Company products AND my first time purchasing diapers as a first time mom. With lots of firsts across the board, I hope to give you an accurate review of my experience with these products as a noobie to the world of parenting.
The obvious things that really excited me about Honest diapers were, like people, the adorable prints and natural ingredients. For my first bundle, I went with the following prints:
The Indigo Woods
Teal Tribal
The Camper Plaid
Space Traveling
Skulls
These fall-inspired prints are a collab with The Great, whose founders are friends/stylists of Jessica Alba's (the founder of Honest Company). They seriously both look like prints that I'd wear myself. I love the classic feel of The Camper Plaid while The Indigo Woods has an adorable air of whimsy. I ordered both of these diaper packs in size 1. I went with a mix of NB and 1 sizes in this bundle since I wasn't sure how much my son would weigh at birth. Turns out that he was 6 lbs, 4 oz. and will likely be in NB sizes for several more weeks. However, I'm glad to have these size 1's for when the time comes that he graduates to the next size up (intended for babies 8-14 lbs). Size NB is recommended for babies up to 10 lbs.
At right around 7 lbs currently, my son fit the NBs well. We simply folded down the tops for the first week while his belly button healed. While we did have a few wet episodes, leaking was minimal overall.
Here, you can see the size difference between size 1 and NB. The Teal Tribal is size 1 and the Space Traveling and Skulls prints are both NB. How adorable are these!? The skulls are definitely an ode to Halloween, but I stocked up on 2 packs of those since they're a favorite that I wanted to last be well into November.
4 pack of Honest Wipes – Retail Value $18.95 ($4.95 individually)
These wipes are really wonderful. They have a gentle, natural scent that's not too overpowering and their material is just substantial enough to do a good job with clean-up. No complaints! I'm still trying out different brands (again, new mom alert), but I'm hoping to report back on favorites as I gain more experience with competitors' wipes as well.
At first, I thought that 4 packs seemed a little excessive. However, now that I'm in the thick of it with around-the-clock diaper changes, I'm quickly learning that I'll go through these in no time. It's great that they're included in the bundle.
Verdict
Honestly, this subscription has been a lifesaver during the first week of my son's introduction to the world. It was so convenient to receive a bulk order of both diapers and wipes, and I really felt confident and prepared take on the diaper changing challenge. Plus, the cute prints make me so happy each time I open my changing table drawer. And once my son is older, I know that it's a feature he'll have a lot of fun with too! The finish of these diapers are soft and they feel gentle and secure. I love that you are able to mix and match sizes and choose your prints, also. Add-ons for products like soap and detergent are also available, making the full experience really customizable. Overall, I'm so excited to continue using Honest Company products and testing their performance against different brands.
Value Breakdown: For $79.95, here's what you're paying roughly for each item:
- 6 packs of Honest Diapers - $65.20, or approximately $10.87 per pack
- For size 6, that works out to about $0.49 per diaper but would be cheaper for smaller sizes since there are more per pack.
- 4 pack of Honest Wipes - $14.75, or approximately $3.69 per pack
