Stitch Fix is a monthly clothing and styling subscription service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey about your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences. After choosing when you'd like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks 5 items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)
My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different!

This is my invoice sheet. It lists the prices per item and the discount I’d receive by keeping all 5 items. With the 25% discount and my $20 styling fee factored in, this box would cost me a total of $244 to keep everything – an average of $49 per item and a total discount of $108.
For anything you plan to return, Stitch Fix instructs you to complete a checkout process online so they know what to expect coming back, and it also allows you to provide feedback about the items. They include a USPS prepaid mailing bag in your box too. You just pack up the items you don't want and drop the bag off at your post office. I love easy returns!
Each box comes with cards with styling suggestions for every piece, plus a little note from your stylist. Unfortunately, I received the wrong card but reached out to the Stitch Fix care team who will be sending me a new one to follow along.
Breeane Statement Necklace - Cost to keep: $34
This statement necklace was such high quality! I love how the thicker linked chain blends with the more feminine aspect of the stones. This is the type of necklace that you can really pair with anything. It would look great with a basic tee, a sweater, or to add a little pop to any dress. Most of my jewelry is gold so this would be the perfect addition to my jewelry box!
Zaryn Cotton Blend Poncho Pullover, size L - Cost to keep: $68
I was pretty surprised by how high the sides of this pullover come up. When I lift my arms you could see my stomach so this for sure would require an undershirt or tank. The overall quality on this pullover is great with an extra soft fabric that will keep you nice and cozy warm. I paired this poncho with jeans but could see it working well with leggings. While I do love the overall quality, I didn't love the look and fit on me.
Chaplin Essentials Lined Hooded Anorak Jacket, size L - Cost to keep: $94
My husband loved this jacket on me! The quality and detail of the jacket is really amazing and you can tell the zipper isn't one that is going to stick after a few wears. Check out that extra pop of red at the zipper as well! I also love that this has a hood which makes it the perfect transitional jacket and great for layering. While I do love the jacket, I have a very similar one at home that is a bit more versatile, I thought this overall had a bit of a bulky look on me.
Becca Distressed Released Hem Skinny Jean, size 14 - Cost to keep: $98
I was so excited for these jeans, but they sadly did not fit me. The fabric was extra soft with that perfect amount of stretch, I could not wait to try them on! I am slightly over 5'9" and they were too long on me! I have a few released hem jeans and they typically are a bit shorter and much tighter at the ankle. These were just way too bulky at the ankle and the waist was a bit bigger as well. I absolutely loved the look of the jeans on the hanger, but on me, they were just a miss. I updated the sizing section of my profile so hopefully my next pair of jeans will fit a bit better!
Timber One Pocket Top, size L - Cost to keep: $58
This was another item that my husband loved on me, unfortunately, I just don't think of myself as a plaid girl. The top itself was very soft and fit perfectly. I normally have issues with button downs busting at the chest, but this one fit perfectly so that I was able to move my arms with ease. The colors were great, but the top overall just didn't feel like me. I thought the price was a bit high as well for the style because you can probably get something similar for a bit less elsewhere.
Verdict: This was my first experience with Stitch Fix so I knew that it wasn't going to be right on point with my style at first. Overall, I thought this box was a great starter as it got me familiar with the process, what they offer, and the quality of each item. Most of the items weren't my style or unique pieces that took me out of my comfort zone at all. The great thing about Stitch Fix though is that you can rate your monthly Fix and provide feedback to your stylist. I went into a lot more detail during my checkout about what I didn't like and why. It also encouraged me to go back to update my profile a bit more. I thought it was a lot easier to add more detail about what I am looking for after experiencing a box first hand!
With free shipping and returns, the $20 monthly styling fee is absolutely worth the service you get through Stitch Fix. Even if you aren't keeping the items you receive, you are getting familiar with what Stitch Fix has to offer and learning a bit more about what styles you like and don't like. Plus, you get to do it all right in the comfort of your own home! Stitch Fix makes it easy and fun so I think the overall value is totally worth using Stitch Fix! Now that I have made a few notes in my profile, I am excited to see what my December Fix has to offer!
To Wrap Up:

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $352. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20.00 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $244 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s a savings of about 31%.
