Petlinks Kitty Pillar – Retail Value $7.22
This was only available from third-party sellers on Amazon, so take the value with a grain of salt. This is a catnip plush with a burlap bottom and some ropelike legs and antennae to add textural interest. This is a nice, small size and Angus has already batted it all around (of course, that was AFTER I tried to take pictures of him playing).
Vital Essentials Freeze-Dried Chicken Breast (1 oz) – Retail Value $4.99 (found on sale here for $4.43)
My cats don’t always like freeze-dried meat, but Sneaky, Angus, and Madison all enjoyed this. It is a single-ingredient treat and the texture seems light and airy, as opposed to dense and hard.
FFDPet Nip Stick (0.5 oz) – Retail Value $5.99
This is some sort of balm with various plant oils and catnip. Madison and Monkey were the most interested in this. Especially Monkey. I felt kind of bad taking it away from him, he loved it so much.
Natural Magic Bad Kitty! Cat Litter Odor Eliminator (0.18 oz) – Retail Value $7 (found on sale here for $3.75)
I have to use unscented clumping litter because of a combination of urinary tract and allergy issues that Monkey has, and sometimes the litter boxes need a little help. Also, Mr. Kitty is currently sequestered in our home office due to some eye troubles he’s been having (he was hiding under the bed at eye drop time) and it is stinky in there. I’ve put this in the home office. It’s hard to tell if it’s working yet (I feel like I need to let a day or two pass since this stuff has a big job to do), but if it does, these are inexpensive and I would totally buy more.
Cat Scarf – Retail Value $5?
This had no label or tag of any kind, so the value is something of a guess. I would be totally fine with receiving an inexpensive apparel item in this subscription every month, though. I managed to get this on every single cat for at least one picture (see below!).
Loving Pets It’s Purely Natural Freeze-Dried Shrimp – Retail Value $3.99
This was the one thing in the box my cats don’t really care for. They’ve had freeze-dried shrimp before and have not been big fans, and apparently, their opinions have not changed. (The like the non-dried shrimp in the Fancy Feast appetizers just fine.) They do like other treats from this brand.
Angus models the scarf. He would NOT look at the camera.
Angus likes freeze-dried chicken.
Madison shows a tooth.
This was the best Madison tongue picture I could get with the treats.
But I did get this one with the catnip stick.
The catnip stick is Monkey’s new best friend. He rubbed his face ALL OVER this.
Monkey models the scarf.
Sneaky was particularly crazed when it came time to try the treats.
She would also not look at the camera.
Mr. Kitty with a new friend.
And when I put the scarf on him, he just sat there with his eyes closed. If he looks a little rough, it is because he is having some kind of bad eye trouble at the moment. (Don’t worry, he saw the veterinary ophthalmologist the day before I took these pictures and he is on a new eyedrop regimen.)
Verdict: I calculated a value of $34.19 for the November Pet Treater Cat Pack (less with sale prices). That’s quite a respectable value for a $12.99 cat subscription box, and about the same value as last month. Although the shrimp treats weren’t popular, the chicken treats made up for that, and I had a hoot taking pictures of my cats in the scarf. Also, it was fun watching Monkey rub his chin all over the catnip stick.
What do you think of the November 2017 Pet Treater box? Do you subscribe to any dog or cat boxes?
