Nosejoy always includes a welcome card with a few subscriber discounts and an info slip that gives a little info about each item in your box. I love that they offer the price of each lovely-smelling product and the website for the company from which it was sourced. Nosejoy is really good about introducing subscribers to small businesses, and in some ways, I think of this box as being just as much about that effort as it is about receiving the awesome treats themselves!

Shamarwyn Rose and Peppermint Luxury Body Wash — Retail Value $10

One sure tell sign of a safe, healthy, trustworthy skin product such as this one is that its label might tout it as a "body wash," but the fine print suggests you also use it as a face wash, shampoo, bubble bath, or hand soap. If there were harmful ingredients in this product, the makers wouldn't suggest using it on such delicate parts of your skin, such as your face and scalp. Yay for all-natural products! This "everything wash," as we might as well call it, has a Rose and Peppermint scent, and while I've certainly used body washes with both of those aromas, I realized after smelling this one that I've never experienced the two together. Both are prominent and I found them to be quite complementary to one another. The rose oil offers a subtly feminine vibe, while the peppermint provides a slight tingling sensation and a squeaky-clean feeling. It's also made with entirely plant ingredients, is cruelty-free, and is created without parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, or mineral oils. This is a great product!

Benjamin Soap Co. Peppermint Tea Tree Soap — Retail Value $8

Lately, I've been using peppermint tea tree body wash from Trader Joe's in the shower, and loving how refreshed I feel! Buying this body wash was an impulse, as I'm usually one to use high-quality handmade bar soaps in the shower. Could this Benjamin Soap Co. bar be any more perfect for my situation? The scent is a lot more subtle than that of the body wash—understandable given the nature of the two types of cleaners—and it's sprinkled with actual peppermint leaves throughout, which are intended to exfoliate. The ingredients list of this handmade bar is simple and natural, and again this guy is free of parabens, sodium lauryl sulfates, unnatural preservatives, and petroleum products. Good stuff.

Latika Body Essentials Macaron Lip Balm — Retail Value $4.50

I was introduced to Latika products in another subscription box, and I've since come to love the quality of this all-natural brand. This handmade lip balm is the fruitiest one I've owned since I was a teenager, but it's not so sweet nor overpowering that it comes off as candy-like. Latika's website describes this product as having a "combination of spun strawberry sugar, candied tonka bean, and Tahitian vanilla." I love knowing the source of this tube's scent/flavor, and I would say "macaron" is a very fitting name for it!

Illume Copper Rose Candle — Retail Value $10

Nosejoy has equipped me with quite the collection of candles! For a while, I was amassing candles in my fireplace. The way it looked when all lit up was just magical, and the combination of awesome scents made my house the ideal place to exist in those moments! Now that we're inching toward winter, my husband and I have started lighting actual fires in our fireplace, so we've scattered all the candles throughout the house, which of course means that they aren't ever all lit at the same time. I'm glad this one will have the chance to shine on its own—the scent is really unique and lends itself to a being the only smell in the room. While "rose" is in the name of this candle's scent, I detect more of a musky essence from it. Illume's website tells that this candle features a combo of pink peppercorn, rose, mandarin, and bergamot. I haven't quite caught the rose nor mandarin notes wafting through the room yet, but I have no doubt that they add to the textured perfume of this candle.

SixSew Three Balsam Fir Sachet — Estimated Value $5 (buy 2 sachets for $10)

Wow, the scent of this sachet is amazing. It's filled with 1 cup of 100% balsam fir tree needles with no added oils nor fillers, so the immensely evocative incense of this little cushion is completely nature-fueled. For some, it might seem Christmas-y since that's the time of year when we invite this scent into our homes, but for me, it's wintry in general. Just yesterday, I switched dressers from an old, broken one I had bought at an estate sale a year or two back to a family heirloom dresser that was given to me by my grandparents. I didn't expect the experience of opening those drawers to access my clothes every day to be such a special one, and it crossed my mind that I'd like to get my hands on a sachet for my underwear drawer; it just felt fitting. Voilà! This one is goin' in there right now. I seriously can't get over how good it smells!

Verdict: I've loved every Nosejoy box I've ever received, and the Winter box is yet another success! This month brought me 5 incredible products, most of which were sourced from small businesses. Three are from makers in Austin, which is where Nosejoy is located. I'm all about that! The curation, quality, and of course, the wonderful nose-delighting experience of this box is a treat every single month, and I appreciate that they included a variety of wintry scents, rather than the predictable ones we would smell walking through the mall. Bravo!
