The information card included a list of items in the box. They included values and I have used a lot of these below because KitNipBox toys can be hard to find for sale online. This month had a “sweet shop” theme.
Paws ‘n Purrs Sour Apple Candy – Listed Value $4
This is a relatively small catnip plush. Monkey liked it a lot (it’s one of those ones he licks incessantly). I suspect the ends will prove interesting to Angus at some point in the future.
Handmade Cookie by Dreamcat – Listed Value $6
This is a felt covered catnip toy. You could give it to your kitty in the crinkle paper for added interest. This one was popular for chin rubbing with several cats. (I couldn’t find this exact maker online so I took the value from the information card. That is the case with a lot of KitNipBox toys.)
Safemade Sweet Treat Cupcake – Listed Value $7
This is a somewhat larger plush catnip toy and Angus has recently discovered it. (Angus will play with the larger catnip toys. My older cats aren’t as interested in those.) Thankfully, it is quiet, and it also appears to be well-made.
Smarty Kat Loco Laser – Retail Value $4.92
Well, we are on a roll! This is the second laser toy I’ve received in the past month or so and it is also a good one! (The laser toys that often come in cat boxes don’t work very well or are super weak. But this one functions nicely.) See below for Mr. Kitty trying to catch the red dot.
LEAP Funky Fun Moustache – Listed Value $4
This is another plush catnip toy. It’s on the small side, though a bit larger than your typical catnip mouse. Once again, Angus expressed interest in this one, but I caught Monkey licking it, too.
Emerald Turducky Dental Treats – Retail Value $4.29
We receive these same treats (in various flavors) regularly in cat subscription boxes. Sneaky loves them. Do watch out, though, as they are somewhat large for cat treats as well as being on the harder side, and it is difficult for cats to eat several of them in quick succession. (Feeding one at a time works better.)
Delectable Candy Toy Wand – Listed Value $7
Yet another dangly toy on a stick (I’m not complaining, these are quite popular at my house). Surprisingly, Sneaky was in the mood to play when I had this out, and she had a lot of fun with it.
Here are your kitty photos for today:
During our photo session, Angus was more interested in the laser than anything else. (He played with some of the other toys later.)
Sniffing a treat.
Kitty tongue!
Monkey was watching the laser but making no move to pounce on the red dot. (He had some red fuzzy thing on his head at the time.)
Monkey was pretty possessive of this candy toy.
Have to get a couple of shots in of Sneaky eating treats.
And here she is with the candy wand.
Mr. Kitty is not great at chasing the red dot, but he tries. (His eyes were probably irritated as he had just come home from the veterinary ophthalmologist’s office, so I am pleased he did this much!)
Verdict: I calculated a value of a little over $37 for the November KitNipBox. That is above the month-to-month cost of the subscription by a fair amount. I thought the overall selection of toys was nice, considering there were several different types (wand, laser, catnip plushes, etc.) – there’s something for everyone. I do find that it helps to have multiple cats with this subscription; you’re much more likely to get use out of every item that way. I was particularly pleased that the laser pointer actually worked pretty well, and Sneaky’s reaction to the wand toy was wonderful. (The treats were also popular.) This was a pretty good month for us.
