Ipsy November 2017 - Bag

Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their 5 items.

There are two color variations this month. You’ll either receive this blue version, or a yellow version with a bronze accent.

Now, onto the items!

Ipsy November 2017 - CC

Ipsy November 2017 - CC Detail

IT Cosmetics CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream, Medium – 4 ml Estimated Value $5

This CC Cream is so easy to apply and I’m super impressed with the coverage. It glides over my dry skin without looking patchy and covers any redness. Plus, the high SPF helps protect. I see a full size of this in my future. (Swatched in lower photo.)

Ipsy November 2017 - Powder

Ipsy November 2017 - Powder Detail

Manna Kadar HD Perfecting Powder - 2.6 g Estimated Value $5.80

This is a nice finishing powder that leaves no white cast and mattifies without drying. I’m glad I got this with the IT Cosmetics CC Cream this month because they make a great pair. (Swatched in lower photo.)

Ipsy November 2017 - Gloss

Ipsy November 2017 - Gloss Detail

MAKE Lip Gloss in Abalone – 4 ml Estimated Value $16.67

This lip gloss is a brown-toned mauve and is moisturizing and non-tacky. It has a hint of mint too!  (Swatched in lower photo.)

Ipsy November 2017 - Mascara

Ipsy November 2017 - Mascara Detail

Benefit They’re Real Mascara - 3 g Estimated Value $8.40

This is such a hyped mascara so I’m glad I got it to try. I love the results, long separated lashes, but I’m not crazy about the wand. It has hard plastic bristles that can be a little irritating on the lash line.

Ipsy November 2017 - Oil

Marc Anthony Hydrating Coconut & Shea Butter - 20.7 ml Estimated Value $3.30

I’m always happy to try any product to bring some moisture to my dry hair. This oil treatment smells nice and helps smooth my curls after sleeping on them. I only need a drop or two to get results without weighing my hair down.

Ipsy November 2017 - Swatches

Here are the shade swatches: CC  Cream, Finishing Powder, Lip Gloss.

Ipsy November 2017 - Face

I used all of the makeup products here. The CC Cream does a great job of smoothing out my skintone and blurring imperfections. I have been dealing with an eczema flare up around my eyes and it does a good job of toning the redness down without accentuating dryness. The finishing powder helps decrease any shine and sets the cream in place.

Verdict: My first Ipsy Glam Bag had a value of $39.17 and I’m happy with it. The IT CC Cream is a new favorite for me and I will use everything else too. I think Ipsy is a great value for $10 + free shipping.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, if you sign up in this month, you'll get next month's box as your first box. (Check out our Ipsy Spoilers to see what's coming up next)

Value Breakdown: At $10 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • IT Cosmetics CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream: $1.28
  • Manna Kadar HD Perfecting Powder: $1.48
  • MAKE Lip Gloss in Abalone: $4.26
  • Benefit They’re Real Mascara: $2.14
  • Marc Anthony Hydrating Coconut & Shea Butter: $0.84

Good to know: Ipsy sends out variations. You may get a completely different bag than me.

OK, I have a question. When I originally signed up for Ipsy I filled out a personal survey of my skin color, eye and hair colors. So that I could get products I could use. I am sick of getting black gel liner, dark bronzes and brown blushes. I am fair skinned with blonde hair and blue eyes and over sixty . Is there an Ipsy for seniors? or atleast getting colors that are appropriate to my color requests I filled out. I love the concealer s and highlighters. They are great sample would love to receive more It sample s , how about ” 7″ products.??? Great fun in this subscription.

Tiffany, TYSM for your review and for including a pic of use wearing everything!

I get two ipsy bags every month since it’s so inexpensive and the value is amazing, and I swap the items I don’t care for to someone else. The profiles are somewhat different so I get mostly different items.

bag #1
1. Naked Cosmetics pigment
2. Marc Anthony hair treatment
3. It CC+ cream
4. Crown brush
5. Colourpop lippie in Calypso (one of my fave companies!)

bag #2
1. Oribe dry shampoo
2. Colourpop eyeshadow in Paper Tiger
3. ‘Tini highlighter
4. Lime Crime Diamond Crushers !!!!! I have wanted to try these so bad!!!
5. Tarte blush in fiesty

I got the yellow bag in both, and I think it’s slightly less hideous IRL than in pics. I try to think about it being Star Trek gold command color with gold braid, but I’m really happy I was able to swap for a blue/black one!

Beautiful!

That lip color looks very flattering on you! Much lighter than it does in the tube.

I really liked the IT concealer….now I need to break down and buy myself the cc cream!

*Also – for those with eczema, try beefing up your Vitamin D! I take 50,000 iu’s (I get these on Amazon from biotech) every other day. I had eczema for years and years until my Dr. suggested it because of my vitamin D levels being near zero, and it was completely cleared up within a week.

This might be the best advice I’ve ever read. I will try it immediately as Arizona Fall/ Winter leaves my hands so dry there’s no recuperation with lotion.

Alexis

Great advice! I found out the hard way what a Vitamin D deficiency can do to your skin (amongst many other things) & it is a long road you don’t want to join me on!

Ooh, TYSM for this info! I’ve been lucky that my eczema has always been light, but some places on my face it never leaves (I’m looking at you, sides of my nostrils! Well, I’d look if I could!) I take 5,000 IU of vitamin D to help deal with bipolar disorder, but I’ll talk with my doc about maybe taking more.

Thanks but I already do take a lil over 17000iu daily due to having fibromyalgia and even if I up it unfortunately my body won’t keep it. Fibro eats it up faster than I can put it in. Unfortunately it’s common with fibro patients and there’s not much I can do about it except keep up with my skincare routine and add extra moisturizing to the eczema patches. I have tried prescription creams too but since I’m normally oily they tend to break me out. The natural, organic skin care items seem to be the most effective for me. I truly appreciate your response though! 💓 😍 🙏💕

I have same issue. Vitamin D has helped. But I recently added 800mg of magnesium daily and my skin is so much better!

Lori

I’m more of a cc cream girl than a foundation girl myself and I’m interested in this one too… I also need a light color for my skin tone though and usually boxes give out med tones. 🙁 I do love how it evened out your skin tone though, I’m also dealing with some eczema around my eyes and this might do the trick 😉

This is probably IT Cosmetics medium shade, I love this cc, but the shade range is lacking.

Michelle

Would you say the cc cream works well without the powder too? And did anyone get it in a light shade? I’m really interested in trying it but medium shades are usually too dark for me.

Lisa

I got it in light and it was perfect shade for me. I actually have 2 tubes because IT cosmetics had a free sample. I had forgotten all about it and I was so confused when it came . I was like where is my other Ipsy stuff?? Lol.

Wow that CC Cream makes your skin look great – I would not have guessed you had eczema. Your eyes are so pretty 🙂 I’m going to have to try the IT CC Cream now!
