On one side of the information card was details about some of this month’s items, and the other side included a workout.

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Coupons

There are also usually some coupons and/or product literature.

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Bar

Keto Watt Original Ketogenic Bar (1.65 oz) – Buy a Box of 12 for $29.99

The protein source here is hydrolyzed collagen, which is not vegetarian, so my husband was the guinea pig for this one. Overall, he found it enjoyable. It is high fat (important for a ketogenic diet) and he said it was a bit oily from that. He said the texture was rather like one of those “natural” energy bars that includes dates (though this does not include dates).

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Beans

Kala Beautiful Beans Sea Salt & Vinegar Crunch (5 oz) – Retail Value $3.78

This was labeled as a bonus item. I guess they had a lot of these left over because this marks the third time I’ve received this product from FitSnack Box. However, I do like them. The texture is not too hard and the sea salt and vinegar flavor actually works here (I am not a fan of sea salt and vinegar potato chips, but the beans are denser and I think that helps).

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Coconut Oil

Nutiva Coconut Oil (3 x 5g) – Buy 15 oz for $12.99

This brand makes frequent appearances in FitSnack Box, but their products always seem to be high quality so I am OK with that. I like to put coconut oil in smoothies to add a bit of healthful fat and these little single-serve packets are great for that (no scooping from a larger jar!), so that is how I used these.

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Cookie

Munk Pack Protein Cookie in Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip (2.96 oz) – Buy a 6-Pack for $16.79

These are vegan and gluten-free and are really, really soft but not crumbly (though some of the chocolate chips fell off the surface). Please do be aware that one cookie is two servings, or 360 calories, so half a cookie is about the same as one protein bar. This wasn’t super strong with the peanut butter and it was definitely on the better side as taste and texture go for protein cookies (I’ve tried quite a few).

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Energy

Hawaiian Ola Noni Energy (2.5 fl oz) – Retail Value $3

This is caffeinated (from yerba mate and green tea) and has a tropical flavor that I found pleasant. You can drink it straight or add it to a smoothie. This also has B vitamins. The key ingredient here is noni, a plant with some anti-inflammatory compounds and potassium that also offers immune support. I am pretty low energy lately as I recover from surgery so it’s hard to assess whether this had an effect or I was just having a good day. Either way, I like the idea of anti-inflammatory compounds right about now!

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Immunity

Hawaiian Ola Noni Immunity (2.5 fl oz) – Retail Value $3

This is similar to the energy version but without the caffeine. If you like the single serving of this, you can subscribe for more. This company supports Hawaiian farmers and its products are organic and sustainably produced.

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Figgy Pops

Made in Nature Figgy Pops Nutter & Jelly (3.8 oz) – Retail Value $4.99

I like pretty much everything from Made in Nature that I’ve tried (and that’s a lot, as they have been hitting the vegan/raw/fitness subscription boxes pretty hard these past few months). These have a nut butter filling although eating them is pretty much like eating a homogeneous date/nut bar. These are super high in calories – about 55 per pop!

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Fitaid

Fitaid Recovery (12 fl oz) – Buy 24 Cans for $59.76

I am familiar with this from other fitness-based subscription boxes. It has BCAAs (branched chain amino acids), which I have found to help with delayed-onset muscle soreness in the past. It also has turmeric (great against inflammation), vegetarian omega 3 fatty acids, and various vitamins. I’m saving this one for when I start exercising again (I had major surgery a few weeks ago) because I know I will get sore after using muscles that haven’t been worked for a while.

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Granola

KRACNOLA Savory Almond Cheese Herb (2 oz) – Buy 6 Packs for $12.45

Savory granola sounds a little strange at first but there’s really no reason why it shouldn’t work. This does have some molasses to hold things together, but it’s not too sweet and the molasses works pretty well with the other flavors. I am not a big granola eater but I did enjoy this and am interested in some of their other flavors, as well (there are quite a few).

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Jerky

People’s Choice Beef Jerky (2.5 oz) – Retail Value $6

I am a vegetarian and my husband is not a jerky fan, so I’ll be passing this along to someone in the office next month when I go back to work.  This is the second month in a row we’ve received beef jerky (last month was a different brand), so do be aware that this is not a vegetarian box (though most of the items are vegetarian-friendly). This is free of preservatives and is seasoned with salt and pepper only (the ingredients list is pretty short). People's Choice Beef Jerky also offers a subscription box!

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Powder

Herbal Strategy Green Balance Alkalizing Blend (3 count)

The web address listed on these packets takes you to a generic website with no products or e-commerce, so I don’t actually know where you can buy this product (the name is too generic to do a good web search). As a biochemist, I don’t buy all this “alkalizing” business (your body is pretty good at maintaining its optimum pH on its own), but I do like adding powders like this to smoothies to get a few nutrients from vegetables I don’t eat enough of. That’s how I used these.

Fit Snack Box November 2017 Toothbrush

Humble Brush – Retail Value $4.99

This is an eco-friendly toothbrush (bamboo handle, BPA-free bristles). I have been thinking lately about how much plastic I send to landfills, so I am happy to receive this. It is comfortable to hold and seems to do a pretty good job.

Verdict: The October FitSnack Box had 12 items, which makes the average cost per item about $2.16 (figuring a $25.90 cost for the box with shipping). As you can see from the prices listed above, most of the items have values higher than that, so this was a pretty good deal. This was also a pretty good month for me. I loved the protein cookie and the figgy pops and granola were pretty good, plus I got a couple of ingredients useful for my morning smoothies.
