They don't give you a list of what snacks you received, but talk about their philosophy and point you to their shop if you found something you like and want to order more. All of the snacks they send are deemed "healthy" and don't contain preservatives, harmful additives, or artificial sweeteners. They also try to send hard to find or new brands that you may not know about. SnackNation partners with Feeding American as well and donates one meal for every box they sell.

They've also included a $35 gift card for Hello Fresh.

Caveman Sweet & Smoky Chicken Bites, 1.1 oz. - Retail Value $3.99

If you are familiar with my other food reviews, you know I am an avid meat eater and have a love for all things jerky. I've never seen these Caveman Chicken Bites before, so I was eager to dive in. This chicken jerky is made with cage-free raised chicken with no antibiotics or added hormones. Each bite has been cut into a bite-size square which isn't the most appetizing thing I've seen, but are actually quite tasty. They really do taste both "sweet" as well as "smoky" as the package states. I appreciate that the serving size is the entire bag, so what you're reading in the nutrition facts is for the whole shebang. There are only 70 calories here with 11g of protein, so it seems that these would be a great stash for a hike.

Popples Coconut Macaroon - Retail Value $0.99

I live for macaroons and am surprised to see one in a health-conscious snack box! This baby is nice and moist even though it came in a package all the way from Belgium instead of a bakery. I'm impressed with the great coconut flavor this is bringing and it's gluten-free and non-GMO as well!

RBar in Peanut Butter & Jelly, 1.6 oz. - Retail Value $1.99

I've received an RBar in a subscription box before and they aren't bad at all. It has a similar consistency to a Clif bar but is round. More importantly, this thing tastes EXACTLY like peanut butter and jelly. It's kinda freaky. The only three ingredients in here are dates, dry roasted peanuts, and raisins. Keep it simple.

Clif Whey Protein Bar in Coconut Almond Chocolate, 1.98 oz. - Retail Value $2.49

This is apparently a new bar from the makers of Clif, which was the first protein bar I had ever heard of. This one is a whey protein bar that contains 14g of protein and 5g of sugar. I received the coconut almond chocolate flavor which is probably the best since I love all of that stuff. It's pretty tasty and very coconutty. It reminds me of a lot of the cereal bars out there instead of their classic bar that is made of pressed fruits. It's crispy on top and the chocolate at the bottom is smooth and creamy. Great option for my morning commute.

Health Warrior Pumpkin Seed Superfood Bar in Honey Cracked Pepper, 1.23 oz. - Try a sample pack of 3 for $4.99

This bar is extremely soft and ooey gooey with honey! It kinda crumbles apart as soon as you bite into, but it's really tasty! There aren't many ingredients in this at all, which I like. Just pumpkin seeds, organic wildflower honey, milled quinoa, black pepper, turmeric, coconut oil, and sea salt. The black pepper and turmeric make it just a touch spicy, but I love it. I wolfed this thing down.

Pure Organic Fruit Sandwich in Strawberry and Banana, 0.63 oz. - Buy a box of 20 bars for $12.99

The package states that each one of these is made with 1/2 cup of fruit purees and juices. It's a nicely dense fruit bar that is organic, vegan, and gluten-free and is packed with flavor. Since I never eat enough fruit, it's a great way to get some into me without the tedious act of peeling a banana. I wish I were joking, but I've seriously been staring at a banana on my desk all day and just ate this fruit bar instead in like three seconds. There is a true and honest review for you! I chose to peel a wrapper instead of a piece of fruit. Help me.

Barnana Original Banana Bites, 1.4 oz. - Retail Value $1.99

I know what you're thinking when you look at that last photo. I'm thinking it too. We have to keep an open mind though. I'm munching on these and wondering what they are made of (besides banana). The ingredients simply state "organic banana and organic banana powder". It also has a little diagram because they apparently can read my mind. They "upcycle" ugly bananas that don't get sold to stores and dehydrate them to make them into chewy lil bites. They then coat them in banana powder to they don't get your hands all sticky. I can appreciate that! They mention them being perfectly browned like banana bread, which is exactly what these little snacks remind me of.

Nature's Garden Cranberry Health Mix, 1.2 oz. - Buy a 7 pack for $9.39

I'll get down with a nice fruit and nut mix from time to time. This one comes in a single serving pack and includes heavy hitters like almond, cranberry, walnut, raisins, and pepitas to name a few. There is nothing freaky in here, just dried fruit and nuts to get you out of that three o'clock slump at work. Super tasty combo!

Kala Beautiful Beans in Sea Salt & Vinegar, 0.75 oz. - Retail Value $0.99

Oooh- I've had the Tropical Curry flavor of these before and they are AWESOME. What we have here are roasted fava beans that have just a smidge of sea salt and vinegar on them. I'm not burning the flesh off of my tongue like some salt & vinegar chips though. It's nice and subtle. I never thought I'd snack on dried fava beans, but here we are and I feel pretty good about it.

Chomps Snack Strips Grass Fed Venison Stick in Cracked Pepper and Sea Salt, 1.15 oz. - Buy a box of 24 for $54 (on sale for $49)

Have I had venison jerky before? I'm going to say that this is a new experience for me. This is a nice size stick-o-meat and if you told me it wasn't beef, I'd be hard-pressed to tell you what it was. The salt + pepper flavor comes through nicely and the stick isn't too moist or too dry. A+, would chomp again.

Sheila G's Brownie Brittle in Salted Caramel, 1 oz. - Retail Value $0.99

This brownie brittle pops up a lot in snack boxes, and they seem to have quite the following. They are super duper chocolately, so I can only really eat one or two at a time. They definitely take care of the after-meal sweet tooth that I often have.

Lundberg Grounded Snacks Red Rice and Quinoa Tortilla Chips with Pink Himalayan Salt, 1.5 oz. - Buy a 12 pack of the larger 5.5 oz bag for $38.76

Dang, these are tasty! I wouldn't really notice that these aren't the usual corn tortilla chips by flavor. They're made of brown rice flour, red rice flour, sunflower oil, organic quinoa and pink salt. They say "lightly salted" but I think they are quite salty (which I personally like). These would be super tasty with guacamole and the pale purplish/pink color would add more to the chip bowl!

Beanitos Black Bean Chips, 1.2 oz. - Retail Value $1.05 (on sale for $0.96)

More tortilla chips! These are made from black beans and definitely have a more "healthy" taste than the average chip or the previous red rice chip. The ingredients here are also super simple, only containing black beans, sunflower oil, long grain rice, and sea salt. I think I may stick to other chips. Plus- would you use these with a bean dip?

SuperEats Jalapeno Cheddar Puffs, 1 oz. - Buy a larger 3 oz bag for $3.29

At first glance, these remind me of the Hippeas that everyone at MSA is so crazy about (which I cannot get on board with). They're vegan, so these puffs are made without cheese and are instead made from a myriad of proteins like peas, sacha inchi, and a jalapeno seasoning made from bell peppers, onion powder, etc. These are pretty spicy but I'm not really into the flavor.

Door County Barbecue Potato Chips, 1.75 oz. - Retail Value $1.49

Ok, you have my attention. Potato chips are hands down my favorite snack and I can get down with some BBQ. These are nice and crunchy and the barbecue flavor is sweet and a little tangy without going overboard. I see you, Door County, and I like what you're doing.

Verdict: SnackNation is one of the largest snack boxes I've had the pleasure of meeting. There were 15 items this month and almost all of them were new to me, and probably a lot healthier than I would have chosen on my own. There were a few duds, but overall I enjoyed most of the snacks and there was a lot that I could use for breakfast or on-the-go to combat my H-ANGER (read: hungry anger). Not all of the snacks were available on the SnackNation website, but I was able to find them on other sites and estimated everything to total up to about $24, which is just a dollar under the cost of the box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? It's more of a randomized selection. From SnackNation:

I’ve been getting this box delivered at work for a few months, it’s pretty awesome. I like the blend of health snacks and more typical snacks, it makes this box unique

I love those banana bites. I thought the same thing… I think they’re an acquired tasted. When I first tried them, I wasn’t thrilled by them. After awhile, I really started to like them. They have other flavors on amazon like cocoa dusted and peanut butter. I’m ordering them soon!! As far as this box, I think it’s a bit heavy on jerky and potato chips and I don’t like that the 1st box coupon isn’t for the actual box but a 6 pack or bestsellers?? I would want to try their actual monthly box; so the coupon isn’t really worth it for me.

Finally, a snack box that isn’t all “healthy” food. I like this much better! 🙂

Great review! I’ve already ordered some RBars off of Amazon (pbj? Um, yes please!), the Kala sea salt and vinegar I’m gonna grab next time I’m at Walmart, and I might get some of the jalapeño puffs and cliff bars as well. Salted Caramel brownie bites are my fave and I always have some in my house, not a surprise as they remind me of the overcooked edges of homemade brownies. Yum! Also, your banana scenario cracked me up!

This box might be for me! 😊❤️
