Just came here to say: Play! just rocked my world 6/6! I have beeen a subscriber for right over a year now. Of all my subscriptions, Play! Rarely disappoints me. But this month, they selected products from which compliment ALL of my complexion needs. Thank you abox 743!
(And I’m over an hour from a Sephora store, so I rarely make the in-store trip for samples and matches. My Makeup HD looks like it was custom-blended for my skin. Wow, just Wow!
I get some subscript-gasms from BoxyCharm a few times a year. But I’ve never gotten a blind $10 Box with this much awesome! Time to get a second Play! sub for my roommate!

I was #743 as well, and was totally stoked- the foundation was a perfect match as well! The whole box was everything I wanted to try (the MUFE serum, UD primer, MUFE foundation), and things I already loved- Dr. Brandt scrub and Tarte Rainforest of the Sea spray (I also use this as a primer). The Tory Burch perfume was pretty good as well- something I would have never tried, but surprised me as to how clean and light it smelled! While I did fill out the profile in depth, I did wonder, how did they get my foundation color so right? I can honestly say, not a single Play box has been disappointing in the year I’ve been subscribed! For $10 a month, it has been worth every penny to discover new finds, and evade those I would have bought (ugh, Bobbi Brown mascara!)

So disappointed. Really didn’t need another Make-up forever foundation (I have a full size and 2 samples already) or ANOTHER Sephora make-up remover. I was hoping for any of the boxes except the one I got (box 925). I think after a year of mostly let downs, I may be over this box. Anyone get Birchbox or Ipsy and more happy with it? I’ve had both in the past but really like that MAC can now show up in Birchboxes

I never got anything I liked in Birchbox, and with Ipsy I felt like I got a bunch of drugstore stuff or brands I never heard of or don’t care about. I like Sephora because it’s all prestige brands for $10. I still feel like it’s a better value, even if I can’t use everything every month.

Why is it that there are always so many people coming on here just to say they hate the box? If that’s the case cancel it & move on!!! It’s $10 & you get to try multiple new products. It’s not meant to be a box of products you like! It’s to try new products. Some you will love, some you’ll like and others you can gift.

Exactly! And you aren’t going to get a bunch of colors that are perfect for you! I love it. I had a really bad habit of buying new products out of curiosity before, and this is a much cheaper way to scratch that “try new stuff” itch.

This! I think this is lost on many people. I knew going into it that I wouldn’t love everything. It’s meant to be a sampler, not a curated box of your favorite items.

I’m glad I unsubscribed now that I’m seeing repeats (the cover fx drops) and nothing really too wow-ing. I will say that the Sephora play box introduced me to a few great products I wouldn’t have tried without it. I just think I can skip a few months and not miss out on much.

I find it odd that there are no “R” shades in the Ultra HD foundations.. I’m R230 (have gone through several bottles of this..) It would have made more sense to have enclosed a little empty sample bottle as a bonus item to be filled at Sephora with the proper colour.. they give you the extra points card to get you in the store, might as well add some other incentive too….

Mine is sitting on my front porch. Unfortunately I’m traveling and my mail is supposed to be on hold… good old reliable USPS. My box always takes forever to be delivered, so someone else has got to have it by now.

I’m actually really frustrated with my box #. I understand that not everyone will get an exact foundation colour match but you can imagine how frustrating it is to see my EXACT foundation color in a different box! My summer match is Y445 (and even lighter in winter). Meanwhile I’m stuck with Y505. Really Sephora?!?!
Out of curiosity, those of you who got box #966, what skintone did you put on your profile?

I know exactly how you feel. I have to eat crow this morning because I usually get a little sniffy and smug about not complaining about what I get in sub boxes but this one is perplexing. I have been colormatched at Sephora more than once, it’s right there on my profile. My color IQ is 2y07, which matches perfectly with this foundation in the color 305. They are sending me it in 415, a full 13 SHADES DARKER THAN I AM. It wouldn’t even match me during the height of summer. I am going to call them and ask for a replacement when I get my box. I wouldn’t even be upset at all but I know they know my exact shade!

I am getting Box 966 too- The foundation in Y445- But I have light skin! And I put Light skintone in my profile!

I set NYC skin type for deep but I may have to drop it down to Olive which by all means should be too light. I got box #966 and my foundation match should be Y425 (leftover summer hue) but yeah, that didn’t happen.
Not sure if I posted earlier but the shade for box# 677 is R230 btw. Sephora always puts the wrong box info for me when I go to the box play website and that’s the shade listed for that box number. They usually give me a list of items for my correct box number online after a couple of weeks. That and the poster I get always matches the items in my box.

Same as you. Concealer a smidge darker than my skintone. I use it as an eyelid primer lol. The hoursglass foundation more as a bronzer. My skintone is more neutral than warm. I have bought this exact foundation shade, so thankfully I know it’s about right this time. What shade in other foundations do you wear?

I have box 677 and have the completely opposite reaction as some of you. I don’t like it at all. I’m a very, very pale skinned redhead, and never will a concealer or foundation work for me in a sub box. It’s a total waste to include one. So it looks to me like there is possibly two foundation or at least tinted products here.
This one is about on the chopping block for me. Not just because of this month, but because I really can’t take advantage of the 50 point card, since I live 5 hours away from a Sephora. Etc Etc 🙁 I’d love to do the makeover thing. I’ve got my eye on a couple other boxes.

Ditto! Fellow redhead here with 677, and I have no use for a single item in this box! Putting them all up for swap.
I’m also really sick of this glowy, illuminator trend. I have oily skin, so what use would I ever have for products that make my skin look even more shiny? Total fail.
This is like the 3rd month in a row Sephora has sent me a box that is the complete opposite of my profile. What is the point of filling out a profile if they are just going to ignore it?

I’m 677 and the coverfx isn’t really skintone related. it looks really gold and dark in the bottle but when you use it (and it’s so strong of a highlight you only need one drop and then blend it) it’s actually much more of a silver highlight than a gold one and I’m super pale, it looks great on me not dark at all. The foundation is too dark for me so same on that but I liked the formula, and the rest of the box is so good I’ll accept not being able to use the foundation.

Got an email this morning that my box just shipped today, but when I checked the mail an hour later it was already here! I got 677 and im so happy with my box!! I never feel like my box is ever disappointing, but most months I like at least one variation better than mine. Not this month!! And I consider myself very fair (porcelain in my profile) and I haven’t tried it on my face so I could be wrong but I was so shocked when I tried the foundation on the back of my hand that it looked like it should be a good color for me! And blended great. The coverfx is insane I’m so hyped I got it. Really really excited for the MUFE serum and Laura Mercier powder too, both new for me. The only item I’ve tried before is the Becca primer (I was hoping for the urban decay optical illusion primer) but I do like the Becca primer so I’m not mad at all. The scent is alright too, not a favorite but I’ll use the sample, and I just consider that a free bonus. What a great box this month 🙂

The same thing happened to me! The same box arrived this morning after I just received a shipment confirmation. I wore the foundation today, and was SHOCKED that the color, R230 was a perfect match!!! I actually have never used a higher end foundation before, and with my combo skin, my oil was completely controlled and the foundation held up for 12 hours—incredible! It did not not accentuate my smile lines, which is a usual huge problem for me. It felt weightless and had medium coverage. I’m considering buying the full size. This month has been the best so far I think, and I’ve been a subscriber since June 2016.

I’m 966. After being on the chopping box for months, I’m finally satisfied with a box.
I still may decide to get rid of them. Too much box envy and for an extra $10 (give or take a few bucks) , I can get all full size with Boxycharm or Beauty Fix.

This is the second month in a row that my box number doesn’t show up in any of the spoilers. I have 280 this month… last month it was something that nobody else seemed to have either.
Anyone else have 280 as their last three numbers. My expected delivery date isnt till saturday the 21st.

Mix it with your moisturizer for a more sheer look, and it won’t look as dark. Or just use the dark foundation as kinda a base for contour, under cheekbones top of forehead on neck etc and your regular foundation or a lighter concealer everywhere else
