Mocha Almond Bar, 1.4 0z (Buy a pack of 3 for $5.49/Member Price $3.49)
I received this bar in my last Nature Box and loved it! It is one of those snack bars that you know you shouldn't eat multiple of in one day, but suddenly realize you've eaten three. Sweet and salty with a little bit of that mocha goodness, this bar has so much flavor. Even though it has a lot of nuts, it isn't as crunchy as you would think. Instead, the dark chocolate and mocha shells create this soft chewy texture that is oh so delicious!
Cinnamon Twists, 4.5 oz (Buy a pack of 2 for $11.99/Member Price $9.99)
These twists are made from a sourdough pastry puff and flavored with Java cinnamon and Madagascar vanilla. Each twist is handmade from a family-owned bakery. Butter is melted between each layer to give it that flaky texture. You would think that this would be a soft pretzel-like treat, but instead, you get this delicious crunch that is very unique with the other flavors. I am guessing since this is filled with sweets and butter, it isn't the healthiest option, but I loved it so much! I have been enjoying this as a little treat with my afternoon coffee and it never disappoints. The sweet flakey crunch mixed with the cinnamon is so incredible I can barely even describe it!
Mini Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies, 3.5 oz (Buy a pack of 2 for $7.59/Member Price $6.49)
A chocolate cookie but not because they are packed with protein and fiber! Each little bite is crispy and crunchy, but begin to melt in your mouth quickly. The whole wheat adds that crumble while you still get a lovely sweetness from the chocolate. This really is an elevated version of a chocolate chip cookie that you can enjoy without feeling too guilty!
Cheddar & Hatch Chile Crackers, 3.75 oz (Buy a pack of 2 for $9.99/Member Price $7.29)
OMG, I could not put this bag of crackers down! They are basically a fancy version of a cheeze-it without all the artificial stuff. Hand-crafted with flour, butter, sharp cheddar, and green hatch chiles. The crackers themselves are crunchy but also sort of soft, most likely from the blend of butter and cheese. The chile flavor doesn't hit you at first, but once you continue enjoying then you really get that spice. The mixture of spice with the sharp cheddar cheese is so delicious and addicting!
Sriracha Roasted Cashews, 1.75 oz (Buy a pack of 2 for $11.99/Member Price $7.99)
Wow, these were spicy! I love Sriracha, but sometimes too much can really get you, and these have a thick coating on them. While I was only able to snack on a few at a time, when I was eating them I didn't want to stop! The roasted cashews were creamy and delicious, cashews are probably my favorite snack. I am a little surprised by the cost of these though because I didn't feel as though there were that many in the bag. Probably not something I would buy on my own even though I loved them so much!
Country Archer Beef Jerky: Sweet Jalapeno, 3 oz - Value $5.99
This was my first time receiving a different brand snack in my Naturebox, very interesting! Country Archer hand-crafts their jerky by using 100% grass-feed beef. The jerky itself was delicious, a nice chewy texture that was packed full of flavor. You do get a little sweetness, but the star here is the jalapeno! I really got a lot of heat from each bite. A really wonderful snack that I was excited to try!
Verdict: This free trial box was a great introduction to some of the more unique snacks that Naturebox offers! I was really excited to receive my first non-Naturebox product this month from Country Archer. Normally, my boxes are filled with sweet and savory, but this month's had a lot more snacks that packed some heat. I loved it! While I normally have a few snacks that I can share with my son, these were all for my husband and me to share. Never a bad thing! The cheddar and hatch crackers were by far my favorite snack, with the cinnamon twists coming in hot as a close second favorite!
I received 6 snacks in this free trial box and each was at a much higher price point than I've seen in past months of our usual subscription. If you join their membership plan for $50/year, I could see spending that credit very quickly on these snacks. If you subscribe for $24.99/month, you get 6 full size snacks in each box, paying an average of $4.17 per snack. You are receiving such a great variety though which for me makes receiving NatureBox a fun and exciting experience each month!
