Very personalized! Each Home Made Luxe box also comes with paper step-by-step instructions, as well as a link to a video version of the how-to.

Craftwood Wood Burning Creativity Set – Retail Value $14.99 (on sale for 8.39)
Wooden Cutting Board – Retail Value $16.99?
This month’s project is a personalized cutting board kit! You also receive a few extra coasters in case you want to do the extra project that is outlined in your pamphlet. The other supplies were pretty straightforward: paper letters, cork coasters, pencil with tape, and graphite stick.
Let’s start our craft!
Start by plugging in your wood burner using the shading tip. While you wait for that to get warm, you want to use your coaster and pencil to trace a circle in the center of your cutting board. Once you have that and your burner is hot, be careful these get very hot, you can start doing your leaf outline. You want to hold the burner down pretty hard and move it back and forth, side to side. I will say this took me a while to get used to using the burner and making the leaf marks, I think this pattern might have been a little advanced for me. Do the inner and outer part of the circle almost to the top and then close off your leaf mark with one single leaf.
That’s it for step 1! You now have your leaf pattern that will hold your letter.
Next, you want to cut out your letter that you want to use and trace the back of it with your graphite stick. Turn it over and tape it down so that it holds in place in the center of your circle, and then trace the inner and outer lining of the letter. Once you lift your paper the graphite will have created the outline of your letter on the wood.
Now, using the extra fine tip for your burner, outline your letter. This was really tricky and showed that I do not have a steady hand at all. Once I got the hang of it and realized I needed to hold the burner down for 5 to 10 seconds, I thought it was a bit easier!
Finally, put your calligraphy tip on your burner to fill-in the center of your letter. This was harder than anything else using the wood burner because it didn’t really shade nicely. If you zoom in, you can see that the shading is pretty bumpy. I enlisted my husband to help me because I thought I was doing something wrong, but turns out this is just a harder burning style than I would have thought.
All done! Now you have a homemade personalized cutting board. While you can tell I have never used a wood burner before, I was pretty happy with the end result.
Verdict: This was my first time receiving Home Made Luxe and I can say I was a bit nervous. I am not very crafty and often get frustrated if I can’t do something really well. However, Home Made Luxe made this project really simple and fun! The steps were easy to follow and you receive everything you could possibly need, right down to tape for holding your letters in place. Even my husband enjoyed helping me with this craft project!
The monthly cost is $29.99 + $10 shipping which does seem to be on the higher side for some of the past crafts I saw in other reviews. However, for this month’s box, I think the value is there because I now have a wood burner that I can use for other projects! The wood burner creativity set comes with multiple tips that you can use for various projects so I know I will be using that tool again now that I am a wood burning expert. Hopefully, Home Made Luxe will continue to send bigger craft projects like this one that will help continue to bring that overall value up.
