Meal #1: Sweet Potato Enchiladas with a Black Bean & Corn Salad

Gobble’s main selling point is that they do the prep work for you so that you can get a nutritious, semi-homemade dinner on the table in 15 minutes. With the enchilada stuffing and sauce already prepared, this recipe really only involved assembly and oven time. Per the recipe, I stuffed the organic, whole wheat tortillas with the pre-made roasted poblano & yam hash and Mexican cheese blend and lined them up in a baking dish. I poured the salsa roja enchilada sauce over top, sprinkled with the remaining cheese, and placed them in the oven for about 10 minutes. While the enchiladas were warming up, I prepped my salad ingredients, tossed in their (amazing) cilantro-lime dressing, and finished it off with a sprinkle of cotija cheese.

The final product was amazing. I’m not a big meat-eater so I loved that these enchiladas were so satisfying and filling while remaining vegetarian. The pre-made enchilada filling and sauce tasted authentic and slow-cooked, and the included produce was unbelievably fresh. I loved everything about this dish!

Meal #2: Shrimp with Pan-Fried Polenta & Pomodoro Sauce

This comforting dish features shrimp and vegetables simmered in a hearty pomodoro sauce topped with melty, pan-fried polenta cakes. Per the recipe, I started by pan-frying the prepped polenta cakes in a generous amount of olive oil until golden brown. I set them aside on a paper towel-lined plate, and then sautéed the zucchini, cremini mushrooms, grape tomatoes, and cooked frozen shrimp until softened. I added the pomodoro sauce to the shrimp and vegetables, let everything soften and simmer together for a few minutes, and then plated the dish and topped it with the fried polenta cakes.

This dish was equally delicious and satisfying as the enchiladas. Both dishes had the taste and texture of comfort food even though neither of them contained any heavy or sinful ingredients. I also found the recipe card to be exceptionally thorough and instructional and helpful with time management while cooking. Another winner for me!

Meal #3: Pan-Roasted Chicken with Broccolini and Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese

This gourmet macaroni & cheese featuring fresh orecchiette pasta and a creamy cheddar béchamel sauce tasted exactly like restaurant food. The inclusion of multiple cheeses and the flavorful Italian breadcrumb topping really elevated this dish from your average homemade pasta to something special and decadent. I prepared this dish and the Shrimp & Polenta dish on the same night, so I opted to skip the pan-roasted chicken and serve the macaroni and cheese as a side dish.

First, I seasoned the broccolini with olive oil, salt & pepper, and placed them in the oven for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, I cooked and drained the fresh pasta and then added the pre-made béchamel sauce, white cheddar cheese, and roasted broccolini. I generously sprinkled the top with breadcrumbs and the Italian cheese blend and placed the pan under the broiler until golden-brown.

Decadent is the first word that comes to mind! This dish was awesome and I can’t wait to recreate it.

Gobble also included pre-portioned, frozen chocolate chip cookie dough and baking instructions. I baked the cookies several nights after I prepared the meal kits and I didn’t get a picture of the baked cookies, but they may be the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had in my life- I’d buy a lifetime supply of this cookie dough on its own!

Verdict: I have tried several popular meal preparation kits and Gobble is by far my favorite. I love cooking but I often avoid it on weeknights because it always becomes more involved and time-consuming than I anticipate. With Gobble’s amazingly flavorful pre-made ingredients and practical, simple recipes, I was able to prepare three full-flavored, homemade-tasting dishes with very minimal effort. I immediately texted my friends and parents about Gobble and I would truly recommend this subscription to anyone!

I just signed up. Fingers crossed. I have tried many of the food subs and this one seems very promising I like it’s partially prepared

I was a Goibblr subscriber for a while until I moved to a state that they didn’t ship. I agree that their customer service leaves some room for improvement, however I also think that their meals are the best out of any meal sub I’ve tried. I feel like their recipes are sort of global inspired comfort food which I love since I’m a bit of a foodie but I like having something comforting and familiar after a long day at work. And I think their premodern sauces and condiments were consistent so delicious. They had this green harissa once that I’m still dreaming about.

Thanks for the review. Just subscribed! However, after noticing that the scheduled delivery will be two weeks later, and seeing the negative comments… We’ll see…

I signed up for the 2 free meals with surprise dessert and “gobble swag” I never received the promo :/ called and they said they would get back with me soon. Over a week went by, I called no answer, emailed no reply, called again after another week went by and they only offered me a coupon off an order. Why would I want to become a subscriber if they never delivered what they promised? customer service was very unapologetic, never again. I’m glad to hear others had a positive experience with them though:)

I received my first Gobble box yesterday. The ice was completely melted and the entire box was room temperature!

Needless to say, everything went in the trash.

Update: I was finally able to speak to Customer Service and they provided a credit to my account. I will try them out again and report back.

Great experience here as well. I’m just a little bit of a picky eater and sometimes have to skip for several weeks in a row in order to avoid red meat, mustard, cilantro, and mayo lol
But other than that I love how easy it is to prepare and how tasty the dishes are 🙂

I tried two of these dishes, plus a cubano pork – I loved the mac and cheese! I’ve been very happy with the flavors of Gobble – I’ve been trying a bunch of the boxes recently, and these are so far my favorite. I really wish they would include nutritional information. I agree, the cookies were excellent!
