Each accessory in this month's box arrived in a plastic baggie, keeping them protected and organized inside the shipping box.
Lavenham Tassel Necklace — Value $34.95
What a pretty piece this necklace is! It immediately struck me as a great layering piece with other necklaces, which I was chuffed to find is exactly how it's styled on Collections by Joya's site.
The main event of the necklace is its delightful pair of charms. The dusty rose tassel (called "cinnamon" by Joya, which is so cute and creative!) is really nice quality what with its being made from vegetable-dyed cotton and tucked into a metal cap. The two hammered gold coins are each stamped with a namaste symbol and a lotus flower—such peaceful touches. They give a gentle jingle when you walk, which some might find bothersome, but I personally love!
The 34" strand of this necklace was hand-strung with pyrite, rose quartz, and sunstone beads. The petite beads are sweet and delicate and offer a slight iridescent sheen.
So graceful! While I clearly adore this necklace, I can so see it on my mum, so I think I'll probably pass it along to her; she wears these subtle tones much more frequently and naturally than I do. That way I can enjoy looking at this necklace while a loved one enjoys wearing it.
Fun Fringe Earrings — Value $78.95
"Fun Fringe Earrings" is an accurate name for this pair! Their gold metal pieces are attached to a hidden dangling chain, flaring out and offering great movement. The above photo shows them laying on a flat surface; below, you can see how they look when hanging.
Here are a couple of snaps of me rocking the necklace and Fun Fringe Earrings together. They make a great combo and I really like how the earrings look with my length of hair. The longer I had these earrings on, though, the more I started to realize they aren't too 'me.' Maybe they're just a little too dressy for my day-to-day style—I think I'll hang onto them for awhile and see how I like them for a more snazzy occasion.
Favorite Fringe Earrings, Gray — Value $58.95
I can't express how excited I was to find these earrings in my box this month! I saw this hammered brass and cotton pair in a different color featured on Joya's homepage the first time I visited their website and immediately fell in love. I thought perhaps I had missed my opportunity to receive them in my box, so I took a deep breath and tried to move on—but secretly, in the back of my mind, I've been pondering if I could justify purchasing them separately. I'm so glad I didn't because here they are!
Of all the many gorgeous colors in these earrings that Joya carries, the gray option hadn't originally stood out to me. But, having been surprised with them in my subscription box, my mind immediately started to run through all the tops and sweaters that this color would nicely complement. Since they're such a statement pair, I actually appreciate the muted tone quite a bit. I can absolutely see myself wearing them regularly—yep, Joya accurately predicted that this would be my new favorite pair—and, in fact, I wore them to work the day they arrived in the mail!
The day I debuted these earrings, I changed out of this red sweater and into a forest green one last minute. I loved how the combo looked so much that I considered taking additional photos, but decided it'd be a bit too gratuitous, haha!
This month's gift wrap option features metallic gold and white sizzle to stuff into the included cardboard sleeve. I so love that they make it easy to pass these items along as gifts in a thoughtful way.
Verdict: Yet again, Collections by Joya has thoroughly impressed me with their beautiful jewelry and wonderful presentation. The items were listed at $34.95 (marked down from $48.95), $78.95, and $58.95 for the necklace, metal fringe earrings, and cotton fringe earrings respectively, adding up to $172.85, aka a spectacular value for a $49.95 box. While I might not have taken the plunge to pay the list price for each of the items in this box a la carte—with the exception of the gray Favorite Fringe Earrings due to their uniqueness—I believe each piece is relatively fairly priced. They are special, artistic items and they would make just as great of gifts as they do wardrobe additions.
