Chewy Goody Box Cat October 2017 Limited Edition Box

The Chewy Goody Box is a one-time purchase from Chewy.com and comes in versions for small dogs, large dogs, and cats.  Although they don’t guarantee you’ll receive what’s in the photos on the product page, it looks like the large dog box is pretty much all edibles and the small dog box looks to have one toy and lots of treats.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is a review of the Cat Goody Box (“Meow You’re Talking”).

Included was a brochure with more information about the products. There were also instructions for a project for repurposing the box.

Fruitables Broth Bowls Chicken Broth (16.9 fl oz) – Value $3.19 (MSRP $3.99)

This is a meat broth designed to enhance the palatability of kibble. We received a chicken broth. It does not have a strong smell but the cats thought it was great. I poured this over some of Angus’s kibble as a test and the kitties went around licking up all the broth. There was quite a lot of this so I closed the container back up and put it in the refrigerator.

Here is some kibble with the broth poured on it. It is kind of hard to see the broth but it is there. I guess it is unlikely to stain anything!

SmartyKat Catnip (1 oz) – Value $3.82 (MSRP $3.99)

I don’t think I’ve tried this brand of catnip before. I refreshed some of my corrugated scratchers with it and there was definite interest from several cats afterward, so I’d say it was a hit.

Feline Greenies Dental Treats in Savory Salmon Flavor (2.5 oz) – Value $2.49 (MSRP $2.99)

These are crunchy, fish-shaped treats. The hard treats are supposed to help keep cats’ teeth clean. (It’s too bad Mr. Kitty can’t have these due to fish and other ingredients, as he could really use some help with dental issues. He is too old and sick for a professional cleaning.) I can’t say whether they’re helping with that, but Sneaky was a big fan of these; she wouldn’t let the other cats get close.

SmartyKat Mermouse – Value $3.99 (MSRP $7)

This is the second one of these we’ve received lately; I guess they are being promoted. But, my cats do like the variety of textures from the different fabrics and especially the FEATHERS. This is a somewhat large toy – too big to be tossed around by a cat, but not too big for Angus to have a good time with (he likes to wrestle with large toys).

Pet Zone Shooting Star Snag-Ables – Value $3.46 (MSRP $5.99)

This toy has a lot going on. It has several textures of fabric (my cats particularly like canvas/burlap), some wooden beads hanging off, and feathers. The beads add a little noise when they hit each other, plus they are dangling. This is a little bit large as toys go and I found my cats enjoyed it most as an interactive toy where I dragged it around and let them pounce on it.

Temptations Snacky Mouse + Chicken Temptations (0.42 oz) – Value $3.19 (MSRP $3.99)

This is a wobbly toy with holes in it. You remove the face, put some treats in (this came with a packet of treats that will work), and then the cat tips it over to retrieve treats. I have tried toys like this before and have learned that, among my cats, only Madison is smart enough to figure these out.  Usually, the other cats gather around and steal the treats he knocks out, so I isolated him this time so he could have them all to himself. He emptied the whole thing.

Gratuitous kitty photo time!

These three gathered around the plate to lick the broth. (Sneaky finished off the kibble, too…)

Angus loves feathers.

Angus also thinks Temptations are pretty good. This may be the first time he’s had them.

Monkey was in a bad mood when I took photos for this box.

But the Temptations made him happier!

I love this picture. She had just inhaled one of the Greenies treats.

Sneaky could smell the treats in the box and was trying to get them while my back was turned.

Mr. Kitty got shut in the bathroom because he couldn’t have any of the broth or kibble or treats. He was not happy.

He did pause his examination of the mermouse to glare at the camera, though.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $20.14 for the Chewy Goody Box for Cats. This value was arrived at using Chewy.com sale prices for all the items. If you added these items to your cart, though, you’d still have to pay shipping costs, so you’d end up a little bit ahead by purchasing this box as opposed to ordering only the individual items. The list prices of these items total $27.95. I thought there was a nice mix of treats and toys, and a few of these products were new to us (though we know most of the brands already). At least one cat (usually more) liked each item in the box, too, so overall, I was happy with this. I do think this may be better for multicat households, though.

What did you think of the Chewy Goody Box for Cats? Did you order any of these for your pet(s)?

I got this box too for my cat. She wanted IN THE BOX right away after I opened it! I already have the treat wobble toy provided (with a christmas decoration) as well as another variety so I already know that’s a hit with my pet. I gave her the shooting star toy and she went nuts over it. I guess it smelled good 😛

I had bought the Temptation Treats mouse awhile back from Walmart.. hoping one of my 3 cat’s would like it, and would help slow down their treat intake. But, not a single one couldn’t figure out how to do it. Congrats on a smart kitty that just owned that thing!! 🙂

Been looking for a nice cat box, I love all your reviews & pictures very much so! Thank You!

Madison is the only cat I’ve ever had who could figure out toys like that. I haven’t even given him one for several years, until this treat mouse, so I guess he is just smart, because he still knew what to do.

Oh my gosh! I love the two pics of sneaky inhaling the treat and the one with his paw up while taking the treat out of your hand. Too cute! Cats have such unique personalities.

I’m lucky she didn’t take my hand off.
