CHC Vintage (Crazy Hot Clothes Vintage) is a vintage fashion subscription box. You get the option of selecting a dress box or a t-shirt and jewelry box. For the dress box, you can also choose from categories like “90s Grunge,” “Bohemian,” “Vintage Prints,” “Romantic,” and “Minimalist.” Their site has some great examples for each category to help in making your box choice.

I love the design on this card that was included. Glitter and donuts are two of my favorite things! DUH!

There isn’t a traditional information card or invoice included with the subscription box; you get a personalized handwritten card with styling suggestions instead. I really enjoy the personalized and thoughtful touch of this card. The styling suggestions are helpful as well!

Please Pass Me The Cranberry Sauce Dress - No size tag (brand and retail value unavailable)

I opted to give this dress a Thanksgiving-themed name since Canada just celebrated their’s and our Thanksgiving is coming up in November; why not get in the festive fall spirit, eh? Doesn’t this dress just make you want to jump in a pile of leaves and devour a slab of pumpkin pie? I know I can’t be the only one that feels that way! This deep cranberry wine dress is made from an embossed velour fabric. The material has ample stretch, but the sleeves are a bit tight in the back and the baby doll/ empire cut hits me strangely in the middle of my chest. Chalk the latter up as a busty gal problem. The condition of the dress is in fantastic shape. I may be wrong, but I feel as though this piece may have been handmade due to some of the cut, measurements, and sewing details on the inside of the dress. I love to find items like this thrifting. I enjoy imagining what the person that gave them away was like!

I opted to style this dress with my go-to faux leather biker jacket, floppy big brimmed hat, jewelry from Jewelry Subscription box (review coming soon!), black tights, and my new studded buckle boots from Shoe Dazzle (review coming for that as well soon!). This ensemble takes me back to being a pre-teen in the 90s obsessing over the fashions of Clarissa Darling from Clarissa Explains It All, Drew Barrymore, and Winona Ryder. This outfit could have been featured in an issue of Sassy magazine; Young Nicole would have loved this look!

Verdict: My love for CHC Vintage is still going strong! Even though the cut was a bit off on me this time, I still like the dress they selected for me. I am all for going on thrift store and flea market scavenger hunts, but the convenience of having a service like CHC is undeniable! The $35 fee is incredibly reasonable for the impressive condition and styles of the vintage pieces they offer. CHC is a fantastic alternative to going through pages of similar vintage items on eBay and Etsy that are sometimes triple the cost of what CHC charges. The value is even greater when you think of the time, energy, and gas money saved by simply just subscribing to CHC and getting your monthly vintage fix delivered directly to you. I can’t recommend CHC enough!

Do you love CHC Vintage as much as I do? What is your favorite piece from them?

Awe Bex! Thank you! I feel the same way in general about plus size representation. We need visibility and to see others like us everywhere from blogs to fashion ads to t.v. shows. It is so vital! Thanks again for your kind words! 💗

LOVE the boots, I am all about lots of shiny things on boots but with my fat ankles and calves i can never find a good pair it seems. 🙁

Thank you, Carey! So sweet!

The boots will be featured in my upcoming Shoe Dazzle review! Shoe Dazzle is such an awesome value and their selections are impressive. I have wide calves too. You should check out Torrid’s boots and booties currently. U got a pair that has studs and chains from them that I LOVE. They are nice and wide too!
