Bullymake Box is a monthly subscription box for power chewers. You all have heard about (and seen) some of Nyx’s exploits with plush toys from dog subscription boxes so when I heard about this one, I had to sign up immediately. Nyx is definitely a power chewer! You pick your dog’s weight in 10-pound increments so this is a box for an 80-pound dog. (Nyx weighs about 87 right now—she has changed weight in the past few months due to medication issues.)

My Subscription Addiction paid for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the Toys-only, 80-pound, $39 a month, box.

Bullymake Box October 2017

The Subscription Box: Bullymake Box

The Cost: $39 a month (save with 3, 6, and 12-month subscriptions)

The Products: Toys and treats specifically tailored for heavy chewing dogs (no plushes). You can also choose a “toys only” box. Because of Nyx’s dietary issues, I went with the “toys only” box. You can also enter specific allergy information in a box on the checkout screen.

Ships to: USA (free!), Canada for $8, and Internationally for an additional cost

Good to know: if you want a toys-only box, you must select that during sign-up. Otherwise, you will get the default box, which does include some treats.

Not all boxes are the same due to the fact that you can choose your dog’s size in 10-pound increments, choose a toys-only box, etc., but there is usually an information card highlighting an item or two from the box.

Armor by American Dog “Boo Da Bat” – Value $14?

We received a toy from this brand last month that has held up super well, even to Nyx playing tug with my husband. So I was happy to see another. At first, I was like, “bat, what?” but then I turned it over…

…and it does look like a bat. Nyx has been enjoying this so far and it is still intact.

Anyway, I didn’t see this exact item in the Bullymake Shop, but it is similar to some other American Dog toys we’ve received, so I assigned it the same value as those.

Large Orange Rubber Bone – Value $14

We’ve received these a few times before from Bullymake Box. I usually spread a little of Nyx’s wet food on them to get her interested and then she will chew for quite a long time. (Nyx likes pretty much any toy, for what it’s worth.) These are size appropriate for a large breed dog and they are also pretty durable.

Bullymake Witch’s Brew – Listed Value $18

The label came off of this in the box (on the other hand, I guess that means no soaking to get rid of glued-on paper!). It is a treat-dispensing toy that can also be chewed. There are really a lot of possibilities – you can also fill it with water and freeze it. Nyx has some sweet potato sticks she can eat so I’ve been giving her this with a few of those in there and she’s been having a lot of fun. (I didn’t see this in the Bullymake Shop so I used the value from the information card.)

Bullymake Candy Donut – Value $19

Nyx loves, loves, loves flavored nylon chews. She can usually play with them 3-4 times before she damages them too much. This one allegedly tastes like candy corn. (It smells kind of weird, I guess I can get “candy corn” out of the scent.) Anyway, although a black ring toy with a black dog doesn’t make for the best pictures, this is the toy I photographed her with this month because it was clearly her favorite.

Here are some shots of Nyx enjoying the ring toy.  She lives for these nylon chews from Bullymake Box.  (Bonus Angus photobomb.)

Verdict: I calculated a value of $65 for the October 2017 Bullymake Box. That’s a wonderful value for a dog subscription that costs about $39. Everything we received was super durable and Nyx has been having fun with all the items. Although every dog is different, this box has worked out really well for Nyx in particular, and if she is happy, then so am I!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? "Bullymake Boxes are shipped the next business day after your order. Then they are shipped every 30 days after your first shipment date!"

  • Large Orange Rubber Bone: $8.40
  • Bullymake Witch’s Brew: $10.80

We loved our box this month. The retro can has been very engaging for my dog and TOUGH. The donut will also never be destroyed. I have a 90lb pit mix.

Customer service has been excellent.

The donut has been played with about 4 times now and while I am seeing some wear, it is holding up better than some of the other flavored nylon toys. (4 times with Nyx is great for a toy.)

I received the October box this was my second box. These toys are not as durable as they look. My 10 month old 30 pound is destroying almost all the toys from a 70pound box. I also am having a hard time getting items replaced. I don’t understand how they advertise for power chewers. Very unsatisifed with this box.

If your dog is destroying the toys every month, maybe this box isn’t right for you. There is also the BarkBox super chewer box and there’s PawPack, which is PetGiftBox’s heavy chewer option. VetPetBox also has a heavy chewer option. Perhaps it is worth checking out one of those other boxes? They are all a little different.

The BarkBox SuperChewer toys don’t hold up either. My 108 kb lab destroys them in 10 minutes.

Ragan

I should also add, the two Rotties I’ve had have been much more destructive as puppies than they have been as older dogs, so it may be that this will be a better fit in a year or two.

Nyx is a sweetie and so photogenic. Thanks for reviewing this box. We have tough chewers at 78 and 68 lbs. We need ideas in addition to BarkBox. We love all suggestions.
