Stitch Fix is a monthly clothing and styling subscription service. When you initially sign up, you take an in-depth survey that asks you about your clothing size, personal style, and price preferences. Your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences within the survey. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

This is the invoice that was included. It shows in detail the items selected for me and the brands, sizes, and cost of each piece. The total comes up to $248.50 after all the discounts if I opt to keep everything—which is a $109.50 total savings! What a bargain!
Also included is this sheet with a note from my stylist, Candace. She is always receptive to the feedback I provide. She even mentions a pin from the Mindy Project on my style board on Pinterest. I really appreciate her thoughtful selections for me. This sheet also provides suggestions on how to wear the pieces that were sent to me. I really love the visuals on this note too. It really is helpful and inspiring, but most of all shows the versatility of the pieces!
Zoey Dress by City Chic, size 24 — Cost to Keep $118
I had an issue I rarely encounter with clothing: the chest on this dress was far too big! Actually, the length was a bit too long on me as well; the dress engulfed me somewhat. I sense if I tried the smaller size on that it would fit like a dream. The jewel-toned retro flower print on this dress is perfect for crossing over from summer to fall. The material has ample stretch and is rather thick, making it perfect for early fall events. This could be paired with heels and a cardigan for a day at the office or a date night easily.
Arielle Off the Shoulder Knit Top by Michel Studio, size 3x - Cost to Keep $54
As soon I as I saw this top unboxing this month’s Stitch Fix, I was excited to try it on. It has such a fantastic Brigitte Bardot va-va voom vixen quality. I knew I had to pair it with my several seasons old Lane Bryant faux leather skirt and my Bad Sandy heels from Torrid. This top would look amazing with any mini or pencil skirt or skinny high waist jeans. The fabric is very stretchy and soft. The major negative was the cross over of fabric across the chest. No matter how I adjusted the top, it would roll up and expose the seam. Otherwise, I loved this vampy off the shoulder top.
Isabelle Knit Bodysuit by Sunny & 74, size 3x--- Cost to Keep $30
I don’t know about you guys, but I love tucking my shirts into my skirts and pants. I wear lots of high waist skirts and jeans and I like the look of a top tucked in them. The one issue with this is shirts will bulge and you can see their outline through your skirt or pants at instances. The beauty of a body suit is you will never have that awkward fabric bulge. This bodysuit is so comfortable and classic in its style. It is made from an awesomely stretchy knit cotton fabric. I was able to just walk into it and pull it on effortlessly. My mom (my photographer for the day) even remarked about how nice it looked on and how she too has been a long time fan of bodysuits for the same reasons. Due to this essential basic being such a versatile piece, I couldn’t resist putting it in my keep pile!
Bilden Button Detail Peplum Knit Top by Eloquii, size 22w—Cost to Keep $58
Eloquii is one of my favorite plus size brands. I love how they marry retro vintage styles with modern trends. That being said, I was really excited to see this top in this month’s offerings from Candace. The thicker knit material is similar to a ponte fabric This top is definitely perfect for fall and would pair great with a pencil skirt as well. I liked the autumn burnt pumpkin color, but I didn’t feel that the peplum did much for my figure. It hits me in a weird spot on the front especially.
Armando Skinny Jeans by Warp + Weft, size 24W—Cost to Keep $98
Skinny jeans are the only kind of jean I will wear and Candace is well aware of that after styling me these last four months. These jeans have a great stretch and have a mid rise cut. They taper incredibly well at the ankles; tucking these into boots won’t be a hassle whatsoever. $98 is a bit rich for my blood when it comes to denim pants, but the quality and versatility of these jeans certainly helps to justify the price.
Verdict: This month had some hits and misses with styles and fit. My favorite pieces were the bodysuit, jeans, and striped off the shoulder top; but even with the latter there were faults, sadly. Overall, I am always pleased with the options Candace provides. She really puts the time and effort by reviewing my feedback and Pinterest boards. I also love the styling cards because they often help inspire me on styling for these reviews.
The $20 styling fee is reasonable when you think of the cost of gas and the time used to go shopping at the mall. Plus, the styling fee is applied to whatever you do opt to get. For example, because I am buying the body suit at $30, I will actually be able to get it for $10 with the Stitch Fix styling fee discount. That is a heck of a bargain and another reason I enjoy Stitch Fix so much.
