The bag came with this information card. This month there were no directions for using the items but everything seemed pretty self-explanatory.

Etude House Silk Scarf Damage Protein Solution Conditioner (60 mL) – Value $3.71 (buy 200 mL for $12.35)

This is supposed to help hair damaged by frequent hairstyling.  I’m pretty much a “brush and go” person and don’t heat dry or heat style, but I do color treat my hair and shampoo every day, so I figured this would be useful anyway. It has 10 kind of proteins, 17 different amino acids, and 6 kinds of oil. It is hard to attribute the conditioner’s effect to any one of those individual ingredients, but I tried it out last night after shampooing and my hair is pretty soft today, so it seems like it will work as a day-to-day conditioner for me.

Etude House Mascara Remover (25 mL) – Value $1.63 (buy 80 mL for $5.20)

I was almost out of eye makeup remover so this comes at a nice time. It’s certainly enough to do the trick until my order of Clinique “Take the Day Off” comes from Macy’s. I don’t usually use waterproof mascara. Lately, I have been working my way through a tube of Too Faced “Better than Sex” mascara I got in a GWP and this mascara remover did work pretty well on that, and without irritating my eyes. The first ingredient is cyclopentasiloxane so take care if you are sensitive to silicones.

Etude House Pink Vital Water Cream (10 mL) – Value $3.40 (buy 60 mL for $20.40)

I’ve sampled a few products from this line thanks to TutiiBag. This is a lightweight moisturizer that is great for this time of year (it’s getting hot again where I live). This does have some silicones but it seems to agree with my skin (some silicone-containing products work for me and some don’t). It has a lot of flower bud extracts as well as ubiquinone, cacao extract, and some other antioxidants. I really like skincare with antioxidants in it – you can’t always see it working at the time, but used regularly, you should reduce discoloration and sun damage and prevent the formation of fine lines!

Goodal Water Full Mask Whitening – Value $2

Goodal masks always have such luxurious packaging. This is a drippy, drippy mask. Also, it took a super long time for the serum to dry on my face after I used it (but I suspected it might, so I used it on a weekend when I wasn’t planning to put on makeup afterward). This has a lot of vitamins including C and E, which are also antioxidants. This also has orange water and kiwi water (probably sources of vitamin C) and white willow peel water, which is probably going to have a little salicylic acid in it, so it may help clear up your skin, too. This was definitely moisturizing and I felt refreshed for a really long time after using it.

3W Clinic Difference Up Point Eyeliner (5g) – Value $2.16

This is a pretty standard liquid black eyeliner (see a swatch below). It dried in a short time and didn’t budge afterwards, which is necessary for me because I have oily eyelids. I don’t subscribe to a ton of beauty boxes anymore, so I don’t often get black eyeliners. When I do receive a new one, I typically throw out the last one I was using (for hygiene purposes, I don’t want to keep one open for too long). (You’ll usually receive one makeup item in Tutiibag and this was it for the month. This is the full size container.)

Here is a swatch of the eyeliner. It stayed on my arm until I scrubbed it in the shower.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $13 for the September 2017 TutiiBag. Although that is a little shy of the month-to-month cost of the box, do keep in mind that prices for K-beauty can vary by a lot, and most of the package sizes above (except the mask and eyeliner) are not actually offered by the manufacturers. I used per-mL prices calculated based on larger sizes, but there is usually a little markup for deluxe sample sizes if they are available to purchase, plus you may want to consider minimum order amounts, shipping costs, and long shipping times from Korea with boxes like this one. At $15 a month, you’re paying an average of $3 per item. Anyway, the contents of Tutiibag this month were particularly useful to me so I am happy. The value averages out over time, too, I think.

What did you think of the September 2017 TutiiBag? Do you get any K-Beauty or Asian Beauty subscriptions?
