Miroja is a subscription box that focuses on minimalist design and plants! Each box includes one plant and one home item.

News from Miroja:

"As of September 1st we no longer will be using Cratejoy to feature our boxes. Therefore if you are a month to month subscription box holder your last box will be shipped this month. If you have a pre-paid plan, your plan will carry out until its last box is delivered in your current order.

Our new boxes will be available online at shopmiroja.com with more to come as we approach the fall and holiday seasons."

This box contains a plant and a breakable item, so I'm glad it is well packaged. Because this subscription includes a live plant, always open it as soon as it arrives.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: Miroja Small Home Goods Surprise Gift Box

The Cost: $24.00 a month + shipping. One time gift boxes are $25.

The Products: Each surprise box contains 1-2 home items.

Ships to: U.S. only

Check out all of our Miroja reviews and the Home Subscription Box Directory!

Keep Track of Your Subscriptions: Add this box to your subscription list or wishlist!

The box includes a card that tells you where to go for general plant care information or help with your subscription. The back of the card gives specific care and information on the included gift items.

Air Plant Set of 3 - Value $10.00?

I'm glad that Miroja switched things up this month and sent air plants, but I wish they were different than the ones I from my May Miroja Review. Air plants are relatively easy to care for and don't require planting in soil. They just need a mist or soak every week or two to stay healthy. My air plants from May are still going strong, despite my watering them much less frequently than is recommended.

Bell Mountain Basil and Grapefruit Soap - Value $9

This palm-free soap from Bell Mountain Naturals is made with all plant based oils and butters. I am a fan of soaps like this that are made without preservatives, artificial dyes and fragrances. It came packaged in a drawstring bag and branded belly band, making it very giftable.

I like the sweet basil scent of this soap. It has a nice, light lather but left my skin feeling sticky while it dried, which was strange. The sticky feeling went away when my skin completely dried and it felt clean, not too dry, and smelled of basil.

Portland Bee Balm in Oregon Mint - Value $2.99

I'd never seen a lip balm with a wooden wrap instead of paper and I appreciate this unique detail! This lip balm is made with just 4 ingredients: local Pacific NW beeswax, organic cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil, organic California extra virgin olive oil, Oregon peppermint essential oil. This thick balm lasted for several hours, hydrating and protecting from the suddenly chilly weather. It has a nice peppermint scent but doesn't tingle on application like Burts Bee's can.

Verdict: While the items in this month's Miroja were fine, it was not what I expect from this subscription. This month's box has a total value of about $22 which is less than the $24 per month plus shipping cost. I have reviewed this subscription since May of this year, and have received a plant, a vessel, and a gift or home item in every box except this one. I am disappointed in the absence of a tray or dish to put the air plants in, and would much rather have received a vessel in place of the soap or balm. This is the last month that Miroja subscriptions are available through CrateJoy and that may be tied to the decline in this box.

I cannot keep an airplane alive no matter what I do 🙁 but I’m good with gardening in general! Just can’t handle something without soil I guess.

Whatever they are called I can’t keep them alive either. Might try again. It is embarrassing when you can’t even keep an air plant alive.

good review. The value is just not there this month – hopefully after they transfer from cratejoy they’ll be back to their prior standards.

@emily – I love the earrings you’re wearing in your photo!! Where did you get them?

Thank you, Beth!

The earrings are from a jewelry maker in Prague – https://www.etsy.com/shop/BenuMade they’re so light weight and comfy to wear!
