This is Look Fantastic’s Special Anniversary Birthday Box!

Now, on to the items!

Hikari Tonya Eye Shadow Quad – FULL SIZE! Value $15

This eyeshadow quad includes two matte shades and two shimmers – all in warm brown tones.

The pigment is good throughout, but is especially impressive with the shimmers:

The formulas feel a little different, too. The shimmers have almost a creamy feel, and the mattes are your standard powders.

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Illamasqua Gel Sculpt in Silhouette – .14 oz Value $15

This is half the size of the full-size version!

This is a perfect item if you are very hesitant about the contouring. It goes on very sheer, and you can apply it subtly to help define cheeks, jawline, etc. (The finish is shiny at first but it dries to matte.)

Here it is swatched beneath the eyeshadow palette:

Look Fantastic Unicorn Eye Shadow Brush – Value $5?

This eyeshadow brush was made just for Look Fantastic subscribers!

The handle is pretty light and maybe too thin, but the brush bristles are soft and densely packed!

Eve Lom Cleanser & Muslin Cloth – 20 ml Value $24

Even Lom is a fabulous luxe brand I’m always happy to see in subscription boxes! (It rarely happens, though!)

This cleansing balm is a beauty cult-classic for good reasons – it makes cleaning your face feel like a luxe beauty ritual.

And it comes with a muslin cloth to use with it:

If you aren’t familiar with how to use this cleanser, here are the instructions:

-Use the cleanser once a day in the evening for normal to dry skin types, and twice daily in the morning and evening for congested skin.
-Apply a small amount to dry fingertips, then gently massage across a dry face and neck until the cleanser is evenly distributed.
-Saturate the Muslin Cloth in hot water and squeeze off any excess.
-Fold it into a square and work it across the face and neck in small, circular movements to eliminate all traces of cleanser, dirt, and makeup.
-Rinse the face and cloth thoroughly in cool water, pressing the fabric against the skin to complete the cleanse for a closed-pore look and feel.

I love the natural essential oil scent of eucalyptus, and the cleanser was gentle on my skin, and great for removing eye makeup, too. (Plus a solid cleanser makes it easier for travel!)

Christophe Robin Cleansing Densifying Rassoul Paste – 40 ml Value $8.50

This is a “Cleansing Volumizing Paste,” AKA shampoo!

It’s designed for fine hair, but I used it on medium hair and still got amazing (almost too amazing) results. You massage it into your scalp like you would with regular shampoo, rinse, then conditioner, etc. (I used about half this container on shoulder length hair, and I’m thinking I could have used half of that.)

After blow drying my hair, I could definitely see a difference in volume, then I went to sleep. (This is typically the time when I lose all hair volume and I wake up to flat hair.) Not the case with this shampoo! I actually woke up to MORE volume! Or as my husband puts it, “Your hair looks….wider.”

Decléor Hydra Floral Anti-pollution Hydrating Gel-cream – 15 ml Value $21

This face cream is designed to help treat free radical damage, dryness, and dehydration. The formula is a gel/cream hybrid that is lightweight, dries quickly, and somehow is also super moisturizing! I love it!

Holly’s Lollies Look Fantastic Lollipop – Bonus! (Value $2?)

More Birthday celebration! This lollipop has an Elderflower flavor!

And this box includes the latest issue of  Elle UK Magazine:

Value $5

I love getting this mini mag with the box – it’s a fun extra, and the size is great for throwing in your purse, too.

The Verdict: This month’s box has a value of about $88.50 (not counting the lollipop or magazine). I think that’s great for a $19 beauty box shipped from overseas! (And you can get the $16 a box annual price without having to pay the full amount up front, too.)

Look Fantastic really delivered on their birthday box! (This is a vast improvement over last month’s box!) Great brands, and great sample sizes, too!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, the September box has sold out. But you can sign up now to guarantee you will receive an October box.

Coupon – No coupons at this time.

Value Breakdown: At $19 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Eyeshadow Quad: $3.22
  • Bronzer Stick: $3.22
  • Unicorn Brush: $1.07
  • Eve Lom: $5.15
  • Christophe Robin: $1.83
  • Decleor: $4.50

  1. That hair paste turned my hair into a tangled, uncombable mess! And I did use my regular conditioner which usually takes out all tangles. Seriously, watch out for this stuff.

    Anyone else?

  2. This is the first month since subbing a yr or so ago I wasn’t completely happy. I enjoy them for the non makeup but usually still like whatever but honestly when will the copper end! Not a personal attack on my beloved looking fantastic mind you. That contoure stick looks just like the tarte face scrub tube and even the gunk inside! I’m glad I didn’t try to wash my face with it lol could you imagine?? I dislike the product completely sadly, so that 2 not liking its..I’m going to pinch my nose and try the hair stuff my hair is so fine it feels like newborn hair. Still keeping the sub but I was shocked to not like 3 things ..the eye brush was ok only because I like unicorns lol

    • I really want the September box 🙁

  3. Still haven’t received mine 🙁 I’ll be so sad if it’s lost and they just give the money back!

    • I just got mine Saturday!

    • I just got mine on Monday, hang in there mine was supposed to be here on the 15th.

      • I FINALLY got it yesterday! For some reason, the paper was missing from the “documents” plastic sleeve. Looks like someone opened it. Maybe that’s part of the reason it was late??
Oh well, I’m just happy it arrived in good shape! Now I just have to wait for the Advent Calendar 😉

  4. I’m gonna say it – I ordered this box just to try the Eve Lom. Because I keep missing it in every box somehow.

    Everything else is just gravy.

Totally intrigued by this hair paste cement stuff. I would LOVE for my hair to be “wider.” & higher, & bigger, & floofier & fro-ier!

That brush is so dumb (no offense to any unicorns out there,) but I love it anyway. Especially since read a hack yesterday about how to create a stain/ombre effect on your lips using a fluffy eye brush. This unibrush is perfect for this purpose because it will stand out among all my serious black eye brushes. I only wish it had purple in it.

That contour stick terrifies me. The quad bores me. (We’ve all gotten those shades in one form or another already.)

The Declor has ‘cones in it. Bummer, but no thanks.

  5. My eyeshadow palette came damaged. One of the colors crumbled and spread to others 🙁 Oh well, I’m sure I have tons of Hikari eyeshadow quads from other sub boxes over the years lol.

    • Take photos and contact them for replacement. Photos are a must. Also keep on them until it is replaced or they give you a credit for a future purchase (this happened to me once).

  6. Why does Cara Delevingne always look so p*ssed off?

    • she’s probably hungry.

  7. I just received mine today for anyone still waiting. I’ll be swapping the eye palette. It’s lovely but I have tons of other palettes with those same colors. The contour gel looks interesting and I can’t wait to try the Eve Lom and the Cristophe Robin. I’m dying to see if my hair gets “wider” too. I laughed out loud at that. It sounds just like something my husband would say.

    • Glad you got a laugh 🙂 Let me know how the shampoo works for you!

    • Just wondering, did your box arrive much later than usual? I’m still waiting on mine and my email to say it had been dispatched was dated sept 1st, hoping it will arrive early next week, very 7nusual for them.

      • Haven’t received mine either. Customer service said if not received by Oct. 1 contact them.

      • Seems like there is a major problem with the delivery of LookFantastic boxes and even the orders. It happened before to me that I received the box a little bit too late. I live in a little EU country and I’m thinking this might be the reason. Today is 25.09.17 and I still haven’t received my box. And I would love to try the things in it 🙁
I have to say that I’m a little bit concerned to put an order trough Lookfantastic’s site as once I’ve ordered a couple of products and my shipment got lost. I’ve had correspondence with the customer service and they’ve sent my order once again, after all, but my parcel arrived after a long time and it was damaged :(. I like the products and the brands they offer but I would think twice before I order.

    • I’m still waiting too, usually here by now.
Anyone known how to blend that gel?

  8. Christophe Robin sample value in LF – $8.50 (or as Oui Please would say – $30). Still bitter about oui Please always over valuing these samples insanely…

  9. The sculpt gel looks interesting!

  10. Liz, Did the hair product leave your hair feeling weird or rough? Some of the reviews say it made the texture feel bad – which is a problem I have with dry shampoo. Thanks!

    • I tried it this morning, and it left my roots feeling like straw. So bad, that I could not even use the wet brush on my hair, because I was just pulling it all out. I put conditioner on the ends, but I tend to stay away from the roots, to avoid them becoming greasy or weighed down. This was a terrible mistake. On the other hand, my hair is wider. Mostly because it’s matted at the scalp

      • Thank you, that was the only item this month I had any FOMO over.

      • I have to say though, I did wonder, when I saw this trend starting with L’Oreal and stuff, how including clay in a hair product could possibly be a good idea, considering how extremely drying it is.

        • Here’s the fun part….I also bought yesterday the L’Oreal clay shampoo and conditioner for my daughter, because her roots always end up greasy, and her ends are dry (exactly what the bottle advertises it’s for). She used it this morning, and while she initially thought her ends felt dry (she’s only 7 though), when we dried her hair, it looked beautiful. We also used the accompanying conditioner, fyi. I think I will stick with the L’Oreal version, instead of this expensive stuff that super dried my hair out.

        • Ideally, clay should detox, absorbs oils & impurities without drying you out.

  11. Omg “Your hair looks wider” is the cutest comment ever. It’s such a Husband Response™. I love it!

    • 🙂

  12. I have not received any communication from them regarding my September box. Is that normal? I’m concerned because of these storms.

    • I haven’t gotten mine yet either and it’s usually the first of my handful of sub’s I get to show up! I emailed and they responded really quick saying that it definitely shipped but because of all the havoc the storms have caused US shipping, it’s most likely just late. Told me to recontact if it still isn’t here by Oct 1st. Here’s to hoping we get them!

      • I usually get mine early in the month and the shipping email was sent on September 1st. The storms may have had something to do w it because i just received my box today.

PS- the Decleor gel is my new favorite thing. It smells amazing!

        • 😢 I want mine!!

    • Good to know. I got the email on the 1st but still haven’t gotten the box. It’s been lost before so I was starting to wonder.
      Thanks ladies!

    • FYI re: shipping , I’m in California and normally get mine in third week of month. Got my box on the 20th on time.

      • Good to know!

I canceled them anyway. (After Sept. of course.)

  13. Do you think that’s Victoria Beckham on the cover?

    • Cara Delevingne

      • Thank you Amber!

        • 😀

  14. The instructions on the container of the Eve Lom said to wet the cloth in hot water, wring out, and place over face for 5 seconds, and repeat 3 times before using the cloth to wipe the cleanser off. I tried it this morning, and it was really nice!

    • this sounds devine

  15. I still haven’t gotten my box! It never comes this late. I usually get it by the twelfth! This is a great box too and I hope it shows up soon. They don’t usually send replacement boxes but refund you instead! I will be mad if I don’t get these items!

    • Shipments have been slow everywhere due to the hurricanes.. multiple packages of mine have been late. I’m sure yours is coming…

    • I haven’t gotten mine yet either and I’m very concerned because I also really want this box. My email said it should have been here by the 18th so I’m hoping it just got held up and is late. 🙁

    • I was issued a replacement box for July. They were very nice about it and it came really quick. I had waited until the beginning of August to report it. Might be worth another try?

  16. great box!!LOL @ the ‘wide hair’ comment! 😉
